  1. jay and all....   I just cant help myself about this...   I think it is obscene and completely unamerican to believe that you have to apologize for events, people, ideals, ect that some faceless, overbearing, damnable, self-appointed "they" deem to be "off limits"... When you do that; you acquiesce to the idea that your "polititically correct overseers" can determine what is "off limits" and what is "acceptable for discussion"....   That's giving up a helluva lot of ground, and effectively neutering our precious First Amendment....   If you believe in free speech, the "arena of ideas", the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the First Amendment; you cannot give up this ground...   I well remember several years ago in Minnesota or Wisconsin (...i believe...) that either a local or a Federal attorney wanted to sensor the speech of several Aryan Nation or Neo Nazi folks over things printed and spoken in the public square during their trial and incarceration... A Federal Judge ruled that these folks could, in fact, say whatever they wanted to say, no matter how heinous to some hearers... She said, in effect, that no one has a right "not to be offended" by the speech of others....   There was another ruling here just the other day in which a Federal Judge said that "...the speech that needs to be protected the most is, in fact, the most controversial, heinous, offensive, and troublesome speech..."...  I think he is exactly right...There are no places in the public forum where the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are suspended; in spite of the various attempts of schools, universities, self appointed watchers and overseers, and quite a few politicians do just the opposite....   Your fathers and grandfathers fought in World War II against nazi (...and japanese...) political philosophies, principles and their ensuing atrocities... They discussed them freely and at length before and during the war...There were several veterans of World War I and the isolationist Republicans who thought that we should mind our own business and stay out of that war...   You can rest assured that nazi goals, philosophy, and principles were discussed at length in those days before the decision was made to go to war; just as it should be...   Fast forward sixty or so years and take a look at the landscape now....The apostate jewish community and the self-appointed watchers of what is "good and right" that inhabit academia, print media, visual media, special interest groups, and politics have done a pretty good job of controlling the playing field by demanding that certain things be "off limits" and not be discussed; and what we are discussing now is a great example of that...   I say that nothing should be off limits nor apologized for ahead of the discussion... As the great Charles Barkley said just the other day:..."there are no words I don't use..."  He is exactly right... I would go farther and say:..."there are no thoughts i dont think or discuss as I choose"...   Don't acquiesce to the idea that you have to apologize for things you didn't do, nor feel the need to add disclaimers that denote disapproval when discussing things that these self-appointed watchers deem to be improper or off limits...   I say; "...what if I (...or you, or anybody else, for that matter...), in fact, do believe in the principles and goals of the nazi (...or any other...) philosophy (...Henry Ford did...)...  That is a right you have here in the good ole USA...You can, in fact, hold those beliefs and not be afraid to espouse them...   That is exactly what the "arena of ideas" and free discussion in the public square is about... That is exactly what the First Amendment was designed to do -- to provide for free and open discussion of revellant issues....  Folks can discuss the issues, and then make an informed decision of what they believe; instead of being told by a bunch of dammed over-seers what they are to think... Those who demand that certain subjects be "off limits"are, in effect, attempting to squelch public discussion of ideas and are seeking to implant their autocratic set of ideals in their stead...   There are no "forbidden thoughts" here; in spite of attempts to ban the by the would be censors who have no notion of freedom and believe that they are, in fact, the smartest people in the room and that you should breathlessly bow down to their thoughts, musings, and pronouncements; and slavishly adhere to their particular brand of overbearing dogma...   I'll close this little epistle by paraphrasing the words of a forgotten (...to me, at least...) greek philosopher who said: "....It is the mark of education, intelligence, and adulthood to be able to consider a concept or idea without accepting it..."  Don't fall prey to the "apology in advance" ideas put up by those who would muzzle your speech...   I think i'll take a baby aspirin and take a little nap now....   leroy, the geezer who uses all words and considers all ideals and concepts no matter how heinous to some observers....

  2. Just thought some of you might be interested. My current project is installing 600 watts of soar panels on my travel trailer. I boondock pretty heavily during deer season with the camper and last year I installed 4 6v golf cart batteries to keep it running without using the generator all the time. This year I'm going to try to leave the generator at home. 600w should be enough to keep the 440ah battery bank topped off while using the ducted furnace and tank heaters even in freezing weather. The battery bank would last right at a week from actual usage last year - with the solar I should be good indefinitely (or until I run out of propane) Pics so far: power center installed Panel testing

  5. I have a daughter in dental school at Remington. She has an essay question, "Which of the ten Bill of Rights would you be willing to give up, and why?" Can I ask WTF that has to do with TEETH?!?!?! I told her "NONE. You are an American citizen, and you're not giving up ANY of your rights, and no one's taking them away from you, either!"

  6.   I thought I was the only person that thought that way  dralarms... I have had people ask me what I would do if my doctor ever told me I had a tumor and it might be Cancer. In the first case back 15 years ago when this doctor and I began our relationship I told her one thing that she was never allowed to do if she wanted to be my doctor.     If she ever found anything that was going to kill me she was not allow to tell me and remain my doctor. She has been my doctor for 16 years now and just went and had semi annual checkup yesterday and got Flu shot.    My philosophy on a tumor is I grew it, it's mine and I plan on keeping it and they can have it after I'm dead. Every one has to die of something and I plan on living till I die and then I won't really care....................jmho

  9. All about shot placement. 150-200 yards is about my max hunting range regardless of caliber even though I know I can reliably hit further targets with my 30-06. With my AR I plan to keep it within 100-120 yards but I have no fear about using the caliber on the small deer here in TN. A well placed shot and a reliable Nosler/Sierra/etc bullet will put them down every time.

  10. The statute you're looking for is TCA 39-17-1307.     The section of the statute that said a person with a handgun permit can have a rifle or shotgun in his/her car as long as the chamber is empty has now been deleted and replaced with this:   (e)(1) It is an exception to the application of subsection (a) that a person is carrying or possessing a firearm or firearm ammunition in a motor vehicle if the person: (A) Is not prohibited from possessing or receiving a firearm by 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) or purchasing a firearm by § 39-17-1316; and (B) Is in lawful possession of the motor vehicle.

  11. Having one, or wearing one? I collect Nazi war items and no one has ever bashed me for them. I've even displayed them during one of our Veteran Day events that we had along with other displays.   As far as the Deaths Head Ring, I've seen them, but not enough to tell a good one from a bad one. The counterfeit market for these (Nazi) items is crazy.   This is a VERY old page of mine showing some of the stuff that I've collected. I really need to update it as I've acquired a few more items since them. http://home.comcast.net/~charles_summers/site/?/home/

  12. Whoa! When did Michael Jordan stop being a good role model? I mean, yeah, he sucked playing for the White Sox during the spring training season that one time, but other than that, he seemed like a very positive role model in sports. I got to meet him a couple times. Seems like a genuinely nice guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14.   No kidding.  If Jews were armed back then the way they are now, Hitler wouldn't have made it very far.  The few Jews who were able to flee to the woods and arm themselves sure caused havoc behind the lines and tied up personnel that would have otherwise been used on one of the two main fronts.    But I guess the systematic extermination of 6 million people is faaaaaaar more moral that letting individuals own firearms for the purpose of self defense against criminals and governments.   Liberal elites are so far disconnected from reality, their opinions mean absolutely nothing.  The opinion of a two-bit crack whore is more relevant.

I have worked with Bob for several years but it wasn't until he asked my advice on what firearm to carry while backpacking in Mountain Lion country that I learned he was a gifted outdoor photographer. He decided on an AR-15 platform and I said "Yeah! that'll do".  So here is a link to some of his work. I hope ya'll like it.    http://rdbowen.smugmug.com/

  20. Be careful, it could cost you.   Depression is not just difficult to treat, it can also be difficult to diagnose in the first place. Scientists are continually looking for better ways to detect this serious mental illness in patients who may not want to talk about it. Now a new study suggests that a simple blood test could soon allow doctors to diagnose clinical depression as easily as they check cholesterol. Researchers at Northwestern University have developed the first blood test that analyzes levels of nine blood biomarkers associated with adult clinical depression. The results of their study were published Tuesday in the journal Translational Psychiatry.   http://www.cbsnews.com/news/first-blood-test-for-clinical-depression/   Put your foil hat on, back door way to make you unfit to own a firearm?

  22. I find WWII very interesting and even went to the 60th anniversary of Pearl Harbor for a vacation. It would be tough to disregard everything that had to do with the Nazi’s. I don’t buy foreign guns but I sure wouldn’t pass up a change to buy a Nazi gun. I wouldn’t care if anyone liked it or not; it’s history. I might ask them though what kind of car they have; better not be a ricer. The Jews put up a big holocaust museum, so I think it’s acceptable for the rest of us. 25. Acorns havnt started falling in my neck of the woods yet. I remember the exact weekend they started falling last year because we didn't see JACK SQUAT hunting the fields that regularly produce deer. Haha. We didn't have any oak tree stands then though. Now we have a few, so hopefully we get to see some deer.

  29. No. Gender in the traditional, literal sense refers to a person's physical anatomy, how they were born, either male or female. Psychological variants in their mental or emotional state might result in them acting homosexual, bisexual, trans-gender, or even zoophilic instead of the most common heterosexual behavior, but this doesn't change their gender. Even gender surgery doesn't fully change their gender, it just leaves them in a mutant form of their original gender. Of course the liberal and politically correct folks will argue that gender is based on your emotions, preferences, etc. and can be changed or declared at will. I prefer to stick with the physical and biblical definitions.

  30. The new bill (sb-1774) created the exception to the old law that prohibited a loaded FIREARM<---( = any firearm, handgun, rifle, or shotgun) from being carried loaded in a privately owned vehicle...So yes, you can carry a handgun, rifle, or shotgun with a round chambered in your private vehicle, according to the wording in the new law...   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/billinfo/BillSummaryArchive.aspx?BillNumber=SB1774&ga=108

  35. I hate dealing with my local UPS store. They tend to have a "holier than thou" attitude & have extra fees for shipping from the store. I usually ship my parts by USPS Priority mail. It costs less, comes insured w/tracking, is faster, & they don't hastle you over what's in the box. If you want to use UPS you have the option of printing up a shipping label & dropping it off with a delivery driver, which I have done in the past. It's usually cheaper & most drivers are friendlier to deal with. Like another member said, you can also tell them it's tools or machine parts. I don't like the idea of telling lies, but IMO it's none of their business anyway as long as you're not shipping something illegal.

  39. He wasn't even born here, "F" him.   Ask GJohnson how many guns were around Mark Wahlberg, who condemns guns, this weekend in Knoxville. He even said the security team pointed their guns at him when he attempted to get up. I don't care who you are if you point a gun at me we are going to have HUGE issues. Good thing I didn't go to the MoH ceremonies because had someone pointed a gun at me it would have made national news.

  44. Does your vehicle have a TN plate and maybe a NRA decal or some gun related sticker? I just have a feeling if it does you might as well put a big sign on it that says, "PULL ME OVER PLEASE?" AND,,, if you actually had any sort of firearm in any sort of storage in the vehicle N.J. cops would treat it like a big celebration party with you face down on the ground and handcuffed. That would "MAKE THEIR DAY".
