  1. They will only confiscate from law abiding gun owners. The gangs will be untouched plus they have stuff way beyond what the silly kalifornia laws allow. Either way it's gonna get ugly.

  3. Picked this up yesterday, Mossberg 930 SPX. Took for a range visit today. I am pretty impressed so far. I've seen mixed reviews online regarding reliability cycling lower powered loads. Shot a couple of different brands of slugs, 00 buck, and some small game loads out of it today. Did have a couple of issues cycling the lower powered small game stuff, but I am thinking it was more letting the gun have control instead of me. Might stick a red dot on the picatinny rail, or might not. Definitely thinking this is a keeper....

  4. In this case, even though I would agree it may be forced, I think it almost makes it even better.  As liberal as Hollywood is, it is nice to know that there are some who want make it blatantly obvious that they not only disagree with the libbies, but also make it a point to use their position to be in your face about it.  You can bet that a lot of people around the White House aren't happy that a very popular show is so anti-Obama.

  6. I refuse to attend the Nashville fairgrounds because I won't pay to park and pay admission. So I guess gun shows are out for me. Haven't seen any great deals at one in a very long time anyway.

  7. I decided to go with the Kineti-Tech because it's like getting 2 muzzle devices in one. Like this, it's a standard muzzle break: Like this, it's a linear compensator: Plus, I think I think it looks completely bada$$ with this long rail:

  8. EDIT: It's time for rifle pics. The views I've experienced while hanging from a tree or sitting in a well placed blind are hard to beat. I'm not sure if there is any interest or not but I think it would be cool to have a thread here to post pictures taken from of of your stand or blind. Pics of things such as sunrises, sunsets, bright green food plots, blinds, etc... Rugerla is the one that made me think of this because of a text conversation we had earlier. I asked him if he'd seen anything and he responded "no, but I always enjoy it anyways" and it made me think that sometimes we get to caught up in the kill and totally forget about the enjoyment of the hunt and the things we witness while we're out there. I didn't have a bow to use until a couple days ago so I don't have any pics from a 2014 hunt yet but i'll post up a few from a couple stand locations that I just planted a couple food plots at and built a couple box blinds. I just plated these plot over the past week and they got their first rain (if you want to call that heavy drizzle a rain) on Friday. I'll post updated pics as things start getting green. Here's 2 pictures from "stand 2". the first is the view from the blind and the 2nd is obviously of the blind itself These 2 are from and of "stand 1", This blind is sitting on top on the dam of the pond that is down behind the blind. I hope to see some cool pics show up EDIT: I meant for this to be a general deer hunting picture thread so anything related just feel free to post.

  11. Been wanting one of these for awhile so thought I would share. This one is a .357 Magnum still in the factory box with registration, manual and NRA papers. Revolver still in the original Ruger plastic wrapping. Doesn't appear to be fired at all...............yet!!! I'm gonna have to take this one out for a range date soon.

  12.    Well hopefully once you go out there a few times with him he will turn you loose on it. I've got 110 acres a few miles from the house that hasn't been hunted in a very very long time because the family that owns it doesn't do any hunting. I has taken me all of my "spare" time and a day of help out of a couple others to get the 120 acres out at my folks place ready so I've not even walked this 110 acre tract. I've got a buddy that I grew up with that lost his hunting land, at least for bow season, because some guys are in there logging it right now so I told him that he could help me hunt that place. We're supposed to walk the place and do some scouting one morning this week but once we figure out what we've got there you're welcome to hunt out there some if you need or want a different spot to hunt sometimes. I'll keep ya posted on what we figure out. I may stick a camera up out there if I find a hot trail to point it at.

  13. I'm not really sure if it's a place I'll be able to hunt regular. I'm assuming it may be a couple times with him type thing, but who knows. I guess I'll find out. Also depends on where it's at too ha ha.But hey, if it's 4 hours from here and I get to hunt one weekend a year, I'm good with that!

  18. Maybe he saw his shadow, lol. I'm sure he'll be back. I haven't seen the one at my hunting spot since that first day. There is a red fox that I would see in past seasons and have seen him on trail cams recently, but I haven't seen him in the flesh this season yet. The other critters of the woods are definitely entertaining and help to pass the time. Last year (late season) I was rifle hunting high on top of an isolated ridge. It was steep, so I just nestled into the base of a windfall tree and was sitting on the ground. After a long day of sitting, a family of raccoons walked straight up the hill towards me. One of the babies got so close to my foot, I couldn't resist stretching my leg to try and touch it. You can only imagine how bad they all freaked when they made me. Absolutely hilarious. I almost laughed out loud in the woods. It made my day, lol.

  19. Congrats!  That thing looks mean!   I have the 13rd version and LOVE IT!  I hope the cycling on yours gets better.  I am pretty fortunate I guess in that the one I got works with everything, all the time.  I only got it to hang up once with a light 1oz target load by holding it at my side and shooting it kinda one-handed, barely holding on to it; effectively limp-wristing it.   Enjoy!

  21. I have said for a very long time that California is the petri dish for the nation. Every single law passed that affect liberties started in California. Look at every single bit of gun legislation in the last 40 years and it was first a California law. All the environmental laws started in California and went nationwide. The AWB was, err still is, in effect in California long before it was made a national ban. And when those at a national level think their laws are working they pass it on a national level.   And another problem isn't California passing these laws. It is those Californians that move to free states and try to make those states just like the California they left. Same thing with those from New England. They hate their state so much they move here but then the miss it enough to try to make Tennessee just like the state they left except cheaper.

  24. Ditto on what Eray said.  The ones that sell new for less than $50 are garbage.  The actual sight mechanism is wobbly.  You can find used milspec ones from time to time at shows and on ebay for $25 or so.     If it has forge markings on it, then it should be GTG.  The cheap Chinese ones do not have the forge markings.

  25. not sure about that specific one, but David usually comes through for just about anyone on here that needs something.

  26. Main diff is simply the type of aluminum and quality of the little parts and construction that make up sight and clamping mechanism. You can see the problems with the cheaper ones on some Amazon reviews, like elevation mechanism slipping/failing, flip sights become loose and floppy, clamp bolts strip, etc.   I don't know the best rated for money spent, but have one AR with carry handle, and went with PSA's branded mil-spec one, sort of high end of middle price range I guess, about $60-75 best I remember.   - OS

  27. Don't be afraid to get an older, beat up looking carrying handle.  You can get it touched up with a fresh paint job and it will look brand new, but you know it's going to last.  I have a carrying handle that is over 15 years old sitting in my spare parts pile.  With no batteries required, you best believe it is going in my get out of town bag if worst comes to worst.

  28. Maybe we all need to become Gang members......................      In all honesty, I don't pay much attention to what they do in that state. I figure before long they will have a quake and fall off in the ocean and we will have 49 states again................jmho

  29. Well, I want them to begin their plans in to try confiscation of gun in their fine state of Sand and Surf first and let them start in L.A. county or San Bernadino  County and if they have any police officers left after they try to disarm those two counties I will be greatly surprised. I said years ago that is they go into L.A. to get the guns from the Latino gangs they will learn right there many many lessons about what military goes through when they are sent in to an urban warfare situation. Believe me they don't have enough police officers on the entire LA police for to clear 1 block in the Latino neighborhoods. They have areas in cities like L.A. , Chicago. Phili, NY, Miami, and many many more that police officers refuse to patrol in and then they talk about disarming someone?? I love the way elected officials don't think before signing a law of this type. "You just can't fix Stupid!!"

  30. Never taken a buck with a bow before so shot a small one this morning, think it was a 5 point. Would have let it walk with a rifle but meat is meat...once I find him anyways. Sitting in the truck waiting a while to track him. He took a step right as I released so I thought I hit a bit too far back. But he ran 20 yards then crashed, only to get up and take off again 30 seconds later. I waited 45 minutes then got down and checked the arrow and has some slime and acorn pieces on it. I think I heard him crash a second time but giving him a couple hours to bleed. ETA - dragging him out now. He was down right where I thought I heard the crash, about 40 yards out of sight. Only a 3 point, looked like a 5 earlier. Almost wish I had passed on him now but it is meat.

  31. It's more I had a fresh clean slate to start with she grew up in a home where guns were bad and she was never allowed to even touch one. It took me several years (been married almost 25yrs) and out of nowhere about 3wks ago she ask me if I would teach her said she seen how much fun me and our daughters have shooting together and really wanted to be a part of it. I'm very impressed with her progress 4 trips later and that was her target. We're going next Saturday for her to take her carry class and qualify so y'all wish her luck. -Dusty-

  33. I have a Serpa for my M&P .40c, and it's pretty comfortable and I don't have any concerns with the N.D. issue. With proper use, you won't shoot yourself. I only use it at the range and in the woods though as I don't like to open carry in public.

  36.     Can't say I agree with all of this. Yes, tv is an escape mechanism; but does sometimes mirror, or at least have some resemblance to real world life and issues. As far as the show being the wrong venue, I'd have to disagree. Tim Allen's work has always been rather biting and usually pointed at some particular segment of our society. And if we can't have humor...we might as well be Democrats.      :stir: :stir:

  39. I had to bring this back up.  If you don't watch this, it is on now.  Tim Allen is starting back where he left off.  There have been no more than 3 major Obama/Biden digs in the first 10 minutes of the show.     It is a pretty darn funny show if you haven't watched it before.

  41. Some folks are lucky enough to have natural gas wells on their property. I am not one of them but I wish I was.   Maybe I am looking at it wrong but I am not looking to generate power for the next 10 years. I want to get through an immediate emergency and have enough fuel to run a generator a few hours a day to keep the fridge and freezers cold. By then, if services aren't coming back online we have bigger problems.   In a months time I can eat the already prepared foods like my chili and stuff like red sauce and get everything else in there canned or dehydrated   Mark

  44. Personally, ownership of inanimate objects should not be regulated at all. What should be regulated is the person owning the item. That is if I can legally own a single shot 22 I should be able to legally own a 50 BMG machine gun in the same manner. If I want to own a tank, hand grenades or a fighter jet I should be able to if I can own a 22 and if I can afford it.   Every single time something was passed limiting firearm ownership the democrats were in control. Make no mistake gun control is, ultimately, about control of the people. We have seen it time and time again, democrats say we cannot have something yet they demand the same thing they aim to control.

  45. Heck I don't go to my mail box out at the road any more unarmed. Might run into a stupid guy that brings a knife to a gun fight..... :ugh:  Last few sales I have been to that were not TGO member related sales I was armed and my shot gun rider was well armed and had my back the whole time. I am done buying guns for awhile. I did an evaluation of my safes today and found a couple I forgot I even still had.......................

  46. I think the entire NFA is unconstitutional and should be abolished.   That is what we need to work on instead of trying to find a technicality or loophole in their bureaucratic rule making on our rights.

  47. Yeah. One time at Home Depot, I got made by a teenage girl, who went through a series of pantomimes to tell me she could see my gun. After ignoring her for about 5 rounds, I walked off, with my zipper still down. True story.
