Well all the doctors including a new Cardiologist team have concluded that I can have stint surgery instead of cutting me open and they have also concluded that I have no major blocked arteries but 3 secondary arteries that can be treated with medication and does not require any stints. One of the stint companies came up with a solution to my problem with doctor thinking their stints they had on hand might not work and the stint company provided the doctor  with a plan of using two stints rather than one. The Stint company said this type of repair has been done hundreds of times with great success with Abdominal Aneurisms greater then 6 centimeters.  So now I am  scheduled to get to the hospital on the 27th at 11AM and operated on at 1 PM so will be out of pocket about 3 and no more than 4 days in hospital and then back home if everything goes as planned. So I guess I sure would appreciate it if ya'll could remember me and say a few prayers.

I think we need to convince Mr. Gumball to do a special on the number of firearm related crimes committed by members of the NRA and those committed by people that are benefactors of government welfare programs.

As bad as the story itself is, the comments are worse.   I know this kind of  story brings all the anti gunners to the forefront and allows them the ability and the forum to express their views, but some of these people are   seemingly borderline psycho themselves.   Those comments are some of the most violent and absurd I've ever seen. I know, I should get out more, as these are probably pretty tame, but the stupidity of the average   person never ceases to amaze me. It is unbelievable that we have survived so long when people act like this.   Spewing the vile comments I saw there makes me ashamed of our people.   I bet they all voted for Obama, just knowing he'd protect them 24/7 for the rest of their lives. And all would be good in the fairy forest.

“I used a .338 on my last deployment. I would have used it more if I’d had it” -Chris Kyle   Being a highly trained Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle had used many weapons over the course of his military career. There were two rifles Kyle liked to use, one of which he used to make the record-setting long distance shot. A lot of Kyle’s marksmanship was done while using the Remington 700 Long Action chambered to fire a .300 Winchester Magnum round. This is a very common hunting rifle that can be purchased for less than $500 from Cabelas. But of course Kyle’s rifle had several expensive modifications. In his autobiography, Kyle mentions his love of Nightforce scopes for the quality of the optics and its durability in harsh conditions. He also reduced the trigger pull weight to 2 pounds, stating he liked to be surprised when the gun went off, he didn’t want to jerk the gun when pulling the trigger. “I used a 2 pound trigger on my rifles. That’s a fairly light pull. I want the trigger to surprise me every time; I don’t want to jerk the gun as I fire.” The .300 Winchester Magnum round is one of the most popular rounds used by American hunters. It is extremely effective at ranges around 1,000 yards, and a skilled operator can easily hit a target at the maximum effective range of 1,210 yards. The round is effective against elk, moose, and even brown bear. In his book, Kyle spoke of the round, saying, “I used the .300 Win Mag for most of my kills. It’s an excellent all-around cartridge, whose performance allows for superb accuracy as well as stopping power. It shoots like a laser. Anything from 1,000 yards and out, you’re just plain nailing it.” During his later tours, Kyle was given a McMillan TAC-338 rifle. This is a far more advanced and expensive weapon system than the average hunter would shoot an elk with, costing north of $5,000. This superior rifle fires a much larger round, the .338 Lapua Magnum. “I used a .338 on my last deployment. I would have used it more if I’d had it,” said Kyle, “The bullet shoots farther and flatter than a .50 caliber, weighs less, costs less, and will do just about as much damage. They are awesome weapons.” Kyle made his record-setting shot with this .338 round. It has a maximum effective range of 1,910 yards, which makes Kyle’s 2,100-yard shot even more impressive. Depending on the weight and shape of the bullet used, a .338 has about 25 percent more energy than a .300 Winchester Magnum.

  No, the NRA needs to do a segment on the ratio of firearms-involved violent crimes committed by NRA members, to those committed by NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. that Gumbel normally reports on.  Let's see who the real scumbags are.   Sounds like something Colion Noir should pick up and run with.

My TGO-15 lower has been in the safe until last month when I finally put the LPK in it. I built it alongside a PSA lower and it was like a Ferrari next to a Trabant. I didn't realize just how nice the CMT lower was until then.   I need an AR-10 like my wife needs another purse, so I'm in when this gets put together.  :D

Well in my opinion every one of those people that had something mouthy about a legal HCP man with a gun being attacked all need to go home and place a GUN BUSTER sign on all of their doors and windows and see how long it takes the bad guys to locate them and give them all a learning experience..............jmho

  I quite disagree. A lot of the problems this country faces are created by the government, and the government has not and cannot prevent them from happening. Life is full of unavoidable risks and adversity, and the very attitude that "if just one person can/is/could have been killed/saved/stopped" is the very attitude that eleutherophobes use to justify further depressing whatever sliver of freedoms are left in this country and the world. That same attitude is the most prevelant held against gun rights, against freedom of speech and press, and against the free market.

As you may know, the National Rifle Association is holding it's annual national Meetings & Exhibits this year -- for the first time ever -- in Nashville. The meeting occurs between April 10th and 12th at the new Music City Center in the heart of downtown. For many TGO members, this is your home state, if not your back yard! So my question to you is, who here plans to attend? And if you do plan to attend -- who among you would be interested in having a TGO specific break-out session with some of the NRA leadership or personalities if I am able to arrange such for us? We currently have 22, 300 members on TGO. That's a large membership base and it seems that a large number of us also members of the NRA. I would imagine that the NRA leadership would at least entertain the idea of meeting with a contingent from TGO if we can come up with a topic or list of topics that we would like to hear from them about. Let's hear some ideas. I'm already trying to make something happen. I just need to get down to specifics.

  Even though I have two shootin irons with braces, I'm mostly hoping the ATF gets shot down on this one just to make the ongoing point about the absurdity of NFA in this day and age. Yeah I was a youngin' when that happened and didn't have the emotional maturity to take it all in at the time. I can tell you though when the scenes played over showing it all happening again in the movie it was very moving and he did a VERY good job of displaying the anger that I'm sure we all feel when watching the crashes.
