  1. This is made from 1095 carbon steel 1/4" thick. It has an 8/14" blade with a total length of about 14". It's professionally heat treated to a RC 59-60. The scales are stabilized mineral stained Afzelia Xylay sanded to 1000 grit and oiled with Scandinavian tung oil. They came out pretty sweet. They are mechanically fastened with as well as epoxied. It has be lightly acid dipped and sanded with 1000 grit paper. It has nice jimping on the spine as well as a swedge.......unsharpened. It comes with a black kydex sheath and is drilled for a large Blade Tech TekLoc which is not included. I've been wanting to make something of this design and finally got around to it. It's a pretty cool knife. It's available.

  3. Finished up this fun design last night, except for sharpening. 9 1/4" overall with a 4 1/2 " blade of 01 steel. Yellow, OD Green, and Coyote Brown Micarta scales with brass pins and Toxic Green liners. This blade design might not be for everybody with the bottle opener and Pommel, but this design just kinda morphed as I was making it! I am really jazzed about it and so is the new owner that I will deliver it to tomorrow. Here it is for your critiques and viewing pleasure!!

  7. I apologize for the long post but I thought everyone would appreciate the details.    Some of you may recall my post a few months back where we thought someone tried to break in. Things have progressed since then. Back in December I caught 3 little thugs trying to break into my neighbors house(right next door). My dog did a great job of alerting me and I just happened to be working from home that day. Cops caught all 3.    2 doors down from me lives a middle aged woman with a daughter in her 20's and a son with autism. On Thursday at 11:15am the daughter was home alone and asleep in her room when the doorbell rang. By the time she got to the door and looked through the peephole she saw a black male walking back to a car parked in the street. She watched them closely but decided they were leaving and went to lay back down. As soon as she hit the bed another knock followed. She went back to the door and looked through the peep to see a massive black male. At this point she backed away and went back to the hallway when the door was kicked in. One kick was all it took. At that point she screamed "WHAT THE F*** ". Amazingly the guy immediately ran out the door and the car fled. They have not been caught yet. She didn't get a plate number but did get excellent descriptions of both men and the car.    Since they live alone their strategy is that they never open the door for anyone. Also, she didn't want to say anything to them because she didn't want them to realize it was a woman home alone. My fiance and I have the same strategy. If someone knocks while I'm gone she goes to the door armed and looks through the peep hole but doesn't say anything. I think this will change in the future. Also, instead of standing in front of the door where you could be shot or hit in the face(with the door) I'm going to have her look through a window.   Here is my advice-most of this you have heard before.   - Reinforce your door. The door was fine but the frame was completely destroyed.  -If someone knocks, let people know you are home without opening the door.   -Ask neighbors who are home during the day to keep their eyes peeled( if you live in a neighborhood).  -have a pistol on you or near you. If your gun is at the other end of the house it won't due you a damn bit of good. -Get a security system and a guard dog. I have both and I wonder if it's why they picked my neighbors house. Maybe they saw the security sign in my yard. -The sheriff recommended leaving a car in the driveway during the day. My neighbor had hers in the garage so they obviously thought no one was home.   Since this happened I've talked to many of my neighbors. I was happy to hear some are already armed and the ones who are not are planning on buying their first firearm(including the victims).    Also, take a look at the crime in my neighborhood in the past 6 months.     Total Assault 2 Burglary 5 Theft 7 Stolen Vehicle 1 Property Crime 5   20

  16. We have an unofficial neighborhood watch program on our street. We all know each other, and the vehicles we drive.   At least four of us on the street are home all day long, and we do rotate the position of cars so it doesn't look as if it's just parked and no one there.   We all have our phone number in phones, and tend to watch traffic on the street. Since it is a dead end street, we watch them very carefully. I f a car or truck makes multiple passes thru, we alert the others.   If it looks wrong, we call the local  station and ask for a drive thru. And we try to note type and license numbers as well.   We have had a couple of vehicles stopped and investigated this way. Actually caught one set of street thugs that had just hit a house nearby.   And I have no weapons near any door or window. I have none in any cabinet nor in sight anywhere.   Sure. You believe that...don't you.

  19. Benchmade will send you replacement Belt Clips if you call and request them. I Got 3 replacements a couple years ago with new screws to boot, and it didn't cost me a dime. Their Customer service has always beenTop Notch, and when I mainly carried 1 of several Benchmades as an EDC Knife, I would send them off to Benchmade for a Spa Treatment. They would come back just like Brand New which was really nice... If you happen to find an older BM knife with a warn out Partially serrated Edge Blade, call the BM and if the have a Plain Edged Blade in a certain Blade material that you want, they may Very well put it on there for you?!! It happens & it did for me several times. That was nice!

  25. If you want hot, head down to east nashville and grab some Boltons Hot Chicken. Most of the 'hipper' hot chicken joints make it either to bland or they just jump up the heat to stupid proportions for the novelty. Boltons is a family business making it the way they eat it.   Another member here turned me onto back to cuba cafe which is friggin amazing for a low key eatery.as well. Call and make sure they have cuban sandwiches before you head down.

  29. Haslam was grasping at the chance to gain National attention by forcing Medicaid Expansion in a Southern Conservative State.  He purchased the seat at the head of the Republican Governors Assn. and has achieved Obama's Most Favored Republican Governor Status. Haslam has the centrist bona fides he and the milquetoast squishy Moderate Republicans think necessary to win, if they can just import enough entitlement seeking newbies to gain power, whilst holding on to the Conservatives.  They know it is time to change ends of the court. He is headed to the Senate, having time there gives him international experience if he kisses enough rump to get the correct committee assignments, (and he will) he already has time in the saddle as an administrator of a State, (a large bureaucracy).  He will have enough money to run, and has ties to the chamber as their boy to garner their help.  He has the chips from running a huge company, so the business folks will fawn. Anybody that does not see the steps being taken does not want to.

After a while she speaks up and says, you should sell all your reloading equipment, your guns and all your fishing gear. The husband looks up and says you sound like my ex-wife. His wife replied I thought you said you had never been married before. To witch he replies not yet.

The wife and I were having lunch at an establishment with this posting: I'm halfway through my patty melt and I have to decide whether I want to run out in the cold rain and come back to cold food, or just risk becoming a test case b/c this class from Cheatham county decided to stop in for lunch.

  40. I think I've owned just about every .380 made - pre and post the modern pocket rocket era. The P238 is a faithful update of the Mustang. That said, it's worth holding one and shooting it before you buy one. If it doesn't fit your hand, you're not going to be happy with it. The Kimber isn't a bad little pistol, either. I don't know that it would find its way to the top of my list, though. It's hard to argue with how the LCP just disappears in a pocket. For me, when I go out to shoot .380, more often than not I reach for my old Sig P230. It's never once disappointed me.

I figure if I'm ever on a hill and my truck won't stay, I'll throw that mag under the wheel lol You are so right! I was gonna post this picture in the OP and forgot HA HA!
