I think it means Dallas Cowboys fans are gay, but I hope not. I find that offensive and insulting. Don't you compare us to Cowboys fans. [emoji38][emoji38]4 points

Where everything goes just right! I finally figured out why my 1885 didn't like cast boolits. The expander plug in my die was too small & was compressing the less bullet in the case to the point it wouldn't obturate to bore size. Half an hour if test loading got me 22 consecutive hits on a 24" tall by 12" wide plate at 600yds. I also shot my first deliberate group at 1000yds with my 6.5x55. The wind was tough to read, but I managed an 8" 3 shot group. Not world being, but good enough that I'm still grinning!2 points

Think of this I watch your house and your neighbors for a few weeks, learn the patterns. Now you go out on the town, come home and find you garage shut, but something is wrong. I have got into the house, opened the door from the inside, wrapped a chain around the safe and pulled it out and it is in the back of my truck. it is now to be opened at my whim. How do I know you and others have a safe in the garage, I can read and you just posted it for the world to read. The closer it is to a large door the easier it is to get out of the house. No I am not a thief, but am always thinking about how to keep my stuff from getting taken. I can tell yall wont be loading mine up on a truck where it is.2 points

I considered putting my safe in the garage for a few minutes but I wasn't comfortable having it in view of the public. Mine is in the house with multiple desiccant packs (no outlet in the closet and really no way to run an extension cord but I would love to have a golden rod or similar as well). My neighbor has two large safes in his garage with a rubber mat under them. He has 2 golden rods in each and has a large dehumidifier in the garage to help out, no issues (been setup this way about 3 years).2 points

I know it's hard to believe but I was a grand father at age 35. I didn't learn about my oldest grandson until two years after my oldest sons death from a car accident and learned his girlfriend was pregnant with his son. His girlfriend at the time of his accident waited a couple years to tell me because I had lost my son and she wanted me to get over that before telling me about Michael. The news was somewhat of a shock but a wonderful one has she not told me I would have never known him. I see him or hear from him at least once a month. He is a Cheatham County Sheriff's deputy and has been for about 7 years now. Now with that said the new pet names are already starting again as I now have 1 great grandson 3 years old and I am Peepaw again. I have two more great grand daughters not yet speaking and going to have another Great grand daughter any day now. About two weeks ago I got my daughter to sit down and begin making me a nice list of a kind of family tree with all the kids grand kids and great grand kids so I can keep up with all of them. She also is making it so pictures of each can be updated regularly. Sure makes it a lot easier keeping up with my pride of kids as I age................... names Oldest son Doug Jr. (1968-1990) Daughter Murieka Son Ronnie son Richard 1st grandson Michael 2nd grandson Matthew 3nd grandson Justin 4th grandson Ritchie Jr. (1st granddaughter Danielle) (2nd grandson Cody) These two were born same day, same hospital 2 hours apart! 2 different Mothers 4th grandson Logan 1st great grandson Stephen 1st great gran daughter Christy 2nd great gran daughter Faith2 points

Dave Ramsey was a God send to me in the early 90s, and I owe a majority of his advice to my money management skills today. Probablem with Dave, he assumes you are a patient person, and desire to covet is low. Will power is required. Same Will power to loose weight too. I can manage money great, but not the fork & spoon.2 points

I got the idea off instructables here http://www.instructables.com/id/223-Survival-Whistle/ . I have since improved that a bit. I have been using leadless solder and JB Welding the 22LR into the 5.56 case neck. I did away with the lanyard part and drilled the primer and JB Welded a cotter key in. This is the basic flow of how I have made them, and the last is I have been playing around with acid etching them. When you build, just have a safe room added. Call it a panic room for the construction crew. Or even a tornado room. They don't need to know either. If I ever get out of here and build, not likely, I will have one added.1 point

I kept a gunsafe in my first house's garage for years w/o any problems, The goldenrod in the safe kept everythin rust free. But my garage door didn't face the roadway either. There are things you can do to make the gunsafe less visable such as workbences and cabinets in front of it obstructing the view. I also stacked plastic storage boxes on top of the safe and had a large picture leaning on the safe. It detracted attention. But the biggest thing is don't bring all the neighbors over to show off the safe, or your newest guns because people talk and word spreads.1 point

There is a store in Fairview that sells auto openers. They have a selection of Microtech, Benchmade, Protech, and some others. The store is called Arrowhead Outdoors and is in the back of an car stereo/hi fi store. I believe that there is a Co Op or some type of feed store next to it. It's across the road on the right from the first convenience store you get to after you cross into Fairview heading West on 100. He also sells lots of AR parts in the store.1 point

Congratulations and shes a beauty...........  As far as the names you think you would like such as Pawpaw or Peepaw. None of that stuff works. Take it from a guy that knows. I have 7 grandchildren and each of them gave me a different pet name, beginning with Peep paw and then it went to Pawpaw, Ganpaw, Grandpaw, Gramps, Mepaw and last one now calls me Grandfather and he is now 8. Came late in life to my son and his wife. Their other two boys are 24 and 22 and both have daughters or their own.1 point

It's not Crisco. It's obviously a vegetable based oil because they clearly state that it's NOT petroleum based and is bio-safe. If it were Crisco, Fireclean would be facing serious patent issues submitting someone else's product as theirs and calling it something else. The infrared spectrography analysis also does not show a 100% match between the two. Further, that type of testing is not ideal for determining precisely what is in a product and at what volumes. Again, Fireclean is obviously a vegetable based oil product however the exact formulation could be significantly different between Crisco, Wesson, Fireclean, FP10, etc. Regardless of all of this, it's pretty clear that it works well. I've been a fan of Weaponshield for almost 10 years now but recently tried Fireclean on a few handguns and it cleans up easier than anything I've ever seen before.1 point

I'm not too far from your situation 10ring, but I dig credit cards for the perks. I get basically 5% back with Academy's card when I shop there. My Mom hasn't paid for an airline ticket since before I got my driver's license, and has never paid interest. She flies 3-4 round trips per year. There was one month, when my Grandpa was very sick/died that she forgot to pay her CC on time. They waived the interest and late fee for her. It's fine not to take advantage of the benefits available to you, but I don't begrudge anyone smart enough to leverage things in their favor, either. :-)1 point

Bound to be half truths based on some admin suggestion at best; for one thing, all those states would have to amend state law to do it. edit: Quick search reveals this site is mostly half truth/satire/hoax type place period. - OS1 point

What they said, get a "no fee" card or two and pay the balance in full every time without fail. It's not a credit card, it's a convenience card. As in, you have the cash, just not on your person. I've had the same credit card for 25 years and have never paid a penny in interest. Get all your power, water, phone, TV, Internet, etc. all in your name, and pay the bills on time every month.1 point

As long as it is a two way street, I agree. What's funny about this board is it seems everyone thinks they are the victim. Those who are religious think those who are not aren't respecting their religious beliefs and those who aren't religious feel like they also aren't respected for their choice to not believe. It isn't just about religion. The same can be said about the political threads. In the end, people just need to learn when to stop and simply say, let's agree to disagree and move on. It's actually pretty simple.1 point

I think that the Politics and General Chat sections are good for what they do, and that is foster a sense of community among our more "dedicated" members. There is also a lot of value in the diversity of opinion and train of thought from the members on very relevant topics, that I enjoy very much, even if I don't always agree with what's said. For me at least, there is only so much gun related to talk about, and there isn't as much new topic material as current events can bring in. It also let's me get to know members (as best you can from an online interaction) far better than talking about a single topic. For my money, it's quite clear that you guys are more than willing to let people have warnings, and give them the time to adjust their behavior as needed.1 point

Not going to be a very long series. How long can some Californians last against zombies without firearms? Or worse yet, how are they able to kill zombies when the guns are all locked up in their storage containers.1 point

Want to make some scratch? Cheese? Coin? Loot? Dollar bills? Ever fancy yourself a bounty hunter? :) Websites like TGO need advertisers to stay afloat, let alone grow bigger and better and make it possible to do cooler things. To date we've been fortunate -- blessed even -- to have our advertisers find us. We've never had to go hunting for them, and honestly I've never really wanted to. I just don't like selling. I'm not a "sales guy" and I hate cold-calling. But recently I had a member approach me with a prospective advertiser and asked if I'd hook them up. So I did. And I also felt like I owed that member something in return... so I did something for that person too. Which brought to mind an idea: Pretty much everyone here has their list of favorite shops to do business with. But how many of those favorite shops support your favorite local forum by advertising with us? All of them? Some of them? None of them? Could you maybe help us by convincing them to sign on with us? Because if you can, and they tell me that YOU are the reason they signed on as an advertiser, I'll gladly kick a commission payment your way. :) So, what's the motivation? I'll make no bones about this: I'd like to eventually quit working for the man Monday - Friday and make TGO something of a full time job. I'd love nothing more than to work on new features, new content, videos, blogs, reviews, etc. all for the TGO community. But in order for that to happen, we need more advertisers and I'd be glad to share some of our increased success with anyone who helps get us there. If you are instrumental in helping bring a new advertiser on board, I owe you a debt of gratitude and I'd like to put some money back in your pocket to say thanks. Let's talk! For details, contact me privately.1 point
