  1. Lying about service to benefit from IS stolen valor.

  2. Just my  :2cents: on this is, there is good and bad in all religions. There are good and bad in non religious people.  I know some Muslims that are not at all radical and would never become radicalized regardless of what the Quran says. I also know folks that are not religious( Not Atheists) just not religious that are good upstanding people in their community. I also know some Muslims that my good Muslim friends have warned me about and I know some religious people that are in church everytime the door is open but treat people like S--IT in public and the work place. So my conclusion is treat others as you want to be treated, always beware of your surroundings and stay armed and alert....................

  3. I say kill 'em all and have the show focus on the Saviors.  With all the relationships beginning and ending with Ricks group, it was becoming a soap opera. :P Season 7 will start off with Carol & Morgan, then the following week will be a 90 minute back story on how Negan became what he is, then week 3 we'll finally see who got killed.  :2cents:

  5. This one was made specifically to the customers specifications. It's basically in the shape of a bushcraft knife except it's 1/4" thick 1095 carbon steel. The blade is about 6" long with an OAL of about 11". It has African Mahogany scales, brass lanyard hole and mosaic pins. It's really a beefy knife but he should be able to use the hell out of it in the woods. The next was also made to customer specifications. It's 1/8" thick steel and has black micarta scales with SS pins.

  7. So our house isn't very old, about 6 years. The back deck has 3 steps down to the yard. When the landscaping was put in the mulch as piled up around the base. So long story short the rider and bottom front plate are completely rotted. Anyone know a good general work contractor in Nashville that could come replace them? I could do it myself but I figured by the time I haul the materials and get a couple tools I don't have, I could probably just pay someone to come and do it for me.

  9.   It may not be a case of directly stealing valor for himself, but he is still stealing it from others who earned it.  When someone tries to present themselves as equal to those who have worn the uniform, or served in a specific billet, they are trying to get people to associate the respect, and honor of that service with themselves, when they haven't earned it.  Those creds he claimed were not his, and he knew it.  If he wanted them, all he had to do was sign up, earn the title, put on a ruck and move out.  By claiming he did so, he stole the valor of those men who did earn those titles and honors.  Just as despicable as someone who buys medals from a catalog and tries to tell people he earned them.   I don't care if they build a decent rifle. It could shoot like a Daniel Defense build, look like a Noveske product, and come with a price tag like it was from a PSA holiday sale, and I still wouldn't care.  If they did indeed lie like they are accused of doing, I won't spend a dime on their products.

  11. I will never understand how the legal system operates when it comes to DUI's or DWI's. If a person is driving down a road and swiving and is pulled over by an LEO and is drunk that person was operating a motor vehicle with under a DUI or DWI depending on the state. A person that is parked in a public parking area and asleep and not operating a vehicle of endangering anyones lives where does the DUI/DWI take place?  I don't even see where a public drunk charge could even come into play as long as the person in in the confines of their vehicle and not out staggering around? The laws have been changed so much that it is all about money and not legallity any longer.....................jmho

  13. By definition you can't trust a liar. Trust and Respect are earned, I taught my boys that and live by it. Attempting to make yourself respectable using lies is despicable on its own, to do it with a lie about "service" in uniform is worse.

  16. If I was the LEO that arrived on scene and he was passed out in a running car, when I realized who he was I'd have given him a ride home and helped him to his front door, thanked him for his service and left. Too many bad guys getting all the breaks now a days. Who ever didn't like it could go jump in a lake........or a cage about to be set on fire.

  19. There's a guy around here who drives a red Mini Cooper, wears a coon skin hat, suede prairie jacket, Carharts or something. Carries a 1911 right side and a black powder over under pistol of some type in a cross draw holster. Always laughed at the prospect of him shooting some gang banger and the story they would tell.

  21. Any permanent changes just write a letter stating what you did.  Keep a copy and note when it was mailed/sent.  You can also fax to the WV branch.  There is no form.  One of the few things they "ask" you to do but very few actually do it.  I personally wouldn't worry but if it makes you feel better a letter is all you can do.

  27. Lord let's don't break "official policy". Fortunately, in my personal case, I would not lose my house nor my families security over this. What I WOULD HAVE LOST would have been a little pride in my own personal character that my father and mother worked so hard on all their lives to make me who I am today. Edit to add: I still stand by my earlier reply. If somebody didn't like it, they can go jump in the lake.......or into a cage about to be set on fire. 2nd edit: this would not be the first job I lost for maintaining my integrity and belief in what is right.

  28. Good luck getting ANYTHING done about this. Those who can do something about it simply don't give a damn.  Several people in my area, including myself, were scammed out money, goods and services by a woman who was going around claiming to be a disabled Army medic down on her luck. She managed con people from all over the U.S. via a Dave Ramsey Facebook page. Not only that, but people from outside the U.S. were conned by a GoFundMe account where she claimed to be a disabled Army veteran. I dedicated countless hours over a period of a few months to gather a mountain of evidence against her, including a FOIA request to prove she never served a single day in the U.S. Military. I contacted the local police, Army, FBI, Stolen Valor/Guardian of Valor, and every news agency in middle Tennessee. So far, the only coverage this story has received was on some 'This Ain't Hell' blog. I did receive an email from a crime reporter/writer in the Nashville area, but I've yet to see the coverage she had promised. As far as the authorities go, the couldn't have cared less. Every agency passed the buck.  I know the folks at Stolen Valor/Guardian of Valor have broken a few cases, but they waste too much time and resources on stories about some 20-something punks who've finally crawled out of mommy's basement to hang out at the local used video game store while wearing a camo get-up they found for 75 cents at a neighborhood yard sale. Really!?!? Why the hell are they worried about garbage like this, while there are scumbags who are conning people out of piles of money? Ugh!

  29. Just to show the ups and downs...My 34th Edition rates the 1/7000, 22 inch at 1095. So it actually dropped a bit on the 35th ED. Of course this is all subjective.   Worth depends on what someone is willing to pay for it.

  30. There are many people using our Armed Forces to profit from. Look at the guy from Wounded Warriors and what he did. They are playing on the hearts of the American people who have the utmost respect for our Men and Women in Uniform. I have never given to Wounded Warriors because I never trusted them. I do give to other organizations that do help our wounded Heroe's when I can and will till I die...............jmho

  31.   I guess all law enforcement agencies are not alike in regards to policy. I do know that Cheatham County does allow the officers to have descretion on the DUI/DWI calls but like your department Domestic Violence is zero tolerance. My son lives down there and some of his friends have been found asleep in their cars in middle of the night and the officer does have the descretion to arrest or not. My son has been called out a few times in the middle of the night by a friend and the officer waits till my son arrives with his tow truck and he tows the vehicle and takes his friend home and tows the vehicle to his lot till the next day. He is not allowed to leave the vehicle with the driver.........................

  34. Our state did away with the public intoxication laws. They decided that those people had a problem and needed help. So when we got called on the drunks (where a car was not involved) we either had to get them to voluntarily go to DETOX or wait for them to walk into the street and take them for intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway. Back then we had fire phones on street corners. The drunks would use the fire phones to call the dispatchers for a cop to take them to detox. Looking at the Tennessee law on PI it requires “to the degree that” that would probably not be satisfied by someone sleeping in a car. And if it was do they go to jail or are the cited and released?

  35. That what happened with us in the early 80’s. We lost discretion on DUI and Domestic violence within a couple of years. If a person was borderline or questionable we could let them pull the car over and park it, call a cab, or we would call a friend or family member to pick them up. That ended in one day. Our shift Commander came into the squad meeting and told us that if we stop a suspected DUI we will arrest and test them. If we don’t we could be fired. He then asks if anyone did not understand what he was saying. Apparently a cop somewhere out east had stopped a car; he thought the driver was borderline. The driver told him he only lived a few blocks away. So the cop said he follow him home. While the cop was following the guy, the guy ran a red light and killed a family of five. The law suit was huge. You can imagine what it would be today if a cop checked someone out; left them, and then they drove off and killed someone. I also understand (as I’m sure you do) why the law was changed from having to be driving to “physical control” and adding DUI to an arrest that could be made on private property. Too often we had to let a suspect start the car before we could arrest them. That caused a lot of unnecessary danger for everyone involved. When they changed the law we could take them as soon as they opened the door and got in the car. I have mixed feelings about someone sleeping it off in a car. But they put themselves in that situation. If you drink too much to drive you better have a designated driver with you or someone you can call. A cab is a small cost compared to a DUI, not to mention the risk of harming someone. I wish young people could understand the DUI laws and that it’s not about “drunk” driving; it’s about BAC.

  39. After looking at the recent posts of BRD, or black rifle disease I had a realization. I have a much older, but equally debilitating one, Wheel Gun Disease or WGD. Although I have owned many Smiths I am partial to Rugers. I love looking at the AR pics you guys have, but I wouldn't get rid of my revolvers for one. I have included pics of my Ruger Wheel Guns, or Sears Catalog edition of Gun Porn. Hope you enjoy.

  43. Using WD40 to CLEAN a gun is fine. I have used the method I described hundreds of times and never had an issue. I can assure you squirting some into the trigger mechanism then blowing it out is easier than disassembling and reassembling most guns. I have recommended it here dozens of times and I have yet to hear of a single person who has had a problem using it as a cleaner. WD40 is not even a lubricating oil. It is more of a solvent or cutting oil than a lubricating oil. And as a protectant it is awful except WD40's Specialist Long Term Corrosion. The Specialist Corrosion from WD40 is better than any other protectant designed for protecting firearms and that is fact, not opinion.

  45. The Finns took captured Russian M91's and basically rebuilt them using only the receiver, bolt, and maybe a few bits of the internals to create the M39. They even modified the magazines to alleviate rim lock. Very accurate rifles with kind of a neat history. My first had an 1899 Russian made receiver. The one I have now has a Remington receiver. Remington made a couple hundred thousand M91's for the Tsar around 1916. They are the manliest of Mosins.

  47. I'll take this in the context whereby specifically a TNDL is either specified or required with the response being...no. But its still a really good question and the state should really just go ahead and do the HCP as an add on to the TNDL and just issue an new DL card instead of the two separate cards.
