  1. Sounds frustrating. We've tried to keep it simple here and it's working so far.

  2. I've been pondering a 9mm carbine of some sort for a while, and seeing grasshoppa's Stribog for sale in the Classified forum clinched it for me. Nashville Armory had one for an actually decent price so it followed me home yesterday, after a several hour wait for the "instant" background check. Apparently a lot of people are spending their stimulus payment on guns at the moment I'd be lying if I didn't admit a big part of wanting something like this is being able to toss it in a backpack, which I did as soon as I got home

  3. Grand Torino and gr8smiles are as two good reasons to be a member as I can think of. Where else can you buy such nice things for such fair prices? My hat's off to these two fine members. Somehow, I've so far avoided buying any of gr8smile's offerings, but I just know it's coming.

  5. Got my Staccato P DPO from my FFL yesterday morning. I just finished mounting my HOLOSUN 507C x2 red dot on it. Hopefully I can go sometime next week and run some rnds down it and get the HOLOSUN adjusted. Here's some pics.

  7. Probably about right. I wasn't familiar with this particular variant, but a quick search on the interwebs revealed how these were priced at about $1000 when introduced back in 2017. The original Vepr's, in x54r, were made in Russia and fall under the current import bans, so their prices have been rising for years. These are apparently modified versions of Molot's x39 and 5.45mm rifles with some US made parts to meet the 922 requirements. I suppose it's a niche company marketing these, with up to 45 round magazines they are undoubtedly popular among the EOWAWKI crowd and given the current mania retailers are taking advantage of those willing to fork over the cash for one ...

  8. It’s hard to tell scale of the flowers in the pics but it sure looks like a Saucer Magnolia. It’s a Japanese flowering tree. Biggest giveaway is how early they bloom. Always the first ornamentals to flower

  11. My generation spent stupid amounts of money to buy sequined gloves to look like this weirdo. I can't throw rocks at my kids because of it. To be clear, I am physically incapable of throwing rocks with this damn glove on. They slip out of my hand. I want to throw rocks.

  12. I've got the Zilla running in my tumbler as I type this. I don't deprime my brass first btw. I 'll give it a few hours and see how it works. My tumbler is in my basement, so the potential for dust really isn't a concern.

  13. Yea no, I wouldn't either. I usually follow the law as much as possible, whether I agree with it or not, but that doesn't mean I won't decry them when I find out about them.

  15. Well I have figured one thing out! I have had other 1911’s with full length guide rods and I could break them down without having to use a paper clip or something to capture it. So far.....not this one! This guide rod has got to go. I’ve seen where people have changed the full length rods in these particular guns to the GI rod and carried on. I’ll be ordering one from 10-8 Performance along with their stainless reverse plug.

  17. Jamie, you really need to switch over to wet tumbling. Get the Hornady tumbler. No need to deprime first, unless that’s your preference. RCBS brass cleaner, about 10cc a run. Great looking results.

  18. I’m putting the 3x on a 300BO because both scopes have the 1moa dot and broken circle for close quarters, and the subtensions allow for longer distances. I’m putting the 5x on my M&P10 to replace an old Nikon Monarch.

  19. Euro Optic and Optics planet had them on sale over the weekend. They were listed at around $150 off msrp. It could be their regular prices, but I jumped on them because I like the Vortex optics.

  20. I hope everyone is well. It has been a day or two since I have been really active here. I have been in Kentucky for about ten years now I suppose. Life is good. The Heathen is still competing in shooting sports, though for obvious reasons we haven't gone to any competitions in about a year. I recently branched out and bought my first every 1911. It is a lot of fun. I hope everyone is well and doing good. I remember a lot of good times here. The reason I came back today is to ask about a Tennessee based Real Estate Attorney. I don't know if we have an active one, or someone has someone they know and can recommend. It is a long convoluted story but it turns out I may have a claim to some family land back home I thought was long gone. I would like to discuss it to see if it is worth pursuing and the costs that would be associated. Thanks in advance!

  22. The Zilla desert blend, and other lizard litter brands were very dusty in my experience. I switched to the HF walnut media above and am happier with it. And a 25# bag means it is going to last quite a while even with more frequent media swaps if it does break down and get dusty.

  23. HF has some cleaning media that is reasonable, I've used the fine grit media but I usually wet tumble as well. https://www.harborfreight.com/25-lbs-fine-grade-walnut-shell-blast-media-92155.html?_br_psugg_q=cleaning+media

  24. Used it all the time before switching to wet tumbling and it worked great. I always deprimed before cleaning and unlike the regular media, it didn't clog the primer hole.

  25. I have an idea. Let’s try and execute this guy for his crimes. Determining why he did it at this point is an exercise in futility unless you are looking to use this senseless crime as political fodder. In a court of law, it should not matter what anyone’s race is nor the reason for the crime. You should determine whether or not the defendant is guilty, and if he is, punish him accordingly for his crimes. I would like to see him tried today and publicly hung tomorrow.

  28. The eligibility requirements are laid out here: https://www.tn.gov/safety/tnhp/handgun/eligibilityrequirements.html You don't have to have training, you don't have to pass a background check. Per the currently amended bill. Basically you can't be a prohibited person, with some added stuff like DUI/DWI convictions, not receiving SSI for a mental disability, etc. Basically if your background would allow you to be issued a permit, you can carry without a permit. There is one good thing about the current wording, if passed as is, you would not be required to ID to law enforcement unless you were carrying in a location that required a permit to carry, even if you've been issued a permit.

  33. If the democrats get their way, by either making DC or Puerto Rico a state, automatically registering everybody to vote, and make mail in voting commonplace, your vote in TN will be worthless on a national level. We are getting to a point that our only hope is to have the State stand up to the Feds. I agree that to have the State go against the Federal Government is a steep hill to climb. The feds have taken over state’s rights by taking hold of the purse strings. It’s something we should at least consider though.
