At that price I'd sooner shoot spit balls or blow guns. That comes out to about $0.16 per round after tax, even more if you have to drive out of your way to get there. Crazy. I can reload 9mm for about $0.08 per round, and buy new 9mm for about $0.21 per round.

TGO is a loyal, if skeptical bunch.  I can only say that I hope people have long memories of who their friends were when times got tough.   Of course, that's assuming something else doesn't happen and we talk to our grandchildren about 2014 like it was the good old days...

Yeah, they are hit or miss on pricing.  This is definitely a miss.  Almost 1,000 bricks.  If they wanted to draw customers they should have done it for $35/brick and put your name on a list and you can only buy one in 30 days, and no family buys.  900 people would have been lined up out the door, and after they got their brick they could walk around the shop.

So they're taking their normal Jack Boot measures up a notch, got it.

All I can say is that I am glad we pay a higher sales tax and no income tax, it makes the welfare, drug dealers, under the table workers pay part of their share. I would pay a higher sales tax to do away with Federal Income Tax.

I got a call today. I was informed that they have changed the policy for the 22lr in this district. I was also told that the employee was reprimanded and that this will never happen again. I am pretty pleased with the way it was handled. I will be giving them another chance. I am still waiting on a follow up call from the LP manager, I was told he will call me before the weekend.

  This is so true. I drive past 3 gun shops to do business at D&T because they have treated me so well in general and especially as a member of TGO.

      I love this stereotype. Do many of us do ok finanically, sure.  I think you will find that many of us are as discriminating as anyone when it comes to guns and ammo.  The people that are buying the ammo at this price aren't "gun" people.  They are simply people who have a gun and may happen to have a little more money (or not).  It's the same in Franklin, Nashville, Knoxville, or anywhere else.     By this standard, everyone who lives in or near Memphis is a drug dealing murderer.

Isn't the Franklin/Brentwood area the type where consumers generally throw money around without asking questions?  I'm no expert on Middle TN but was always under that impression.

I really do wish them success.  We need fewer gun stores not less.   That said, it's so interesting to me that every gun shop in the Franklin/Brentwood area in recent years has seen no benefit in being a part of the TGO community.  This is a highly loyal bunch, and we've had some great vendors that understand that (Hero Gear of old, G&L, D&T, etc...)  I guess that says more about the community they(we) live in than it necessarily does about any of them, but I don't see how it's going to work out for them in the long run.   You can only gouge your customer base for so long before most of them go somewhere else. 

I appreciate the heads up from OP. Having said that I won't be back in everything weapons. They can choke on the 2 pallets at that price. Wonder why Brentwood/ Franklin can't have a good gun shop? Thank goodness for our local forum sponsors! :up:

I hope they choke on every last round and go out of business.  Even the gunshow douchebags only charge $50 bucks for it, assuming this is the Scorpion brand.  Regardless, if I am ever in that part of town I can guarantee you I will not be stopping by, and I love going to gun stores when travelling about the state.

So, as I have no dog in this fight ... One complaint and every other comment and review I've read has generally been positive and this business is blackballed by so many? I guess this is the bad side of internet communities or mobs (depending on topic) ;).   No doubt Caster's experience was accurate but if it is inconsistent with others, could it be the fellow was having a bad day? Maybe he had a fight with his wife that day and needed a "win"? Maybe he just encountered an idiot first time reloader who threatened to sue him when he stuck a 300 Blackout in a 5.56 chamber and blew up his gun?   Just giving a separate perspective from the tar and feather fervor that seems to be the default. Put it in the memory banks and if it proves to consistent then it proves to be a problem. Otherwise people are people and even business owners have bad days. Especially when the gun market is so volatile right now. We need more sources not less.

  Actually, TN does have a state income tax.  Wages/salary are not taxable under our income tax, but if you have investment income (like stock dividends, etc...), you are taxed on that part of your income.

Biggest thing it has done was to remove possibility of felony conviction for a permit holder having loaded firearm in vehicle on school property.   - OS

As of 8:00 PM this evening, I just completed my 11th day of being tobacco free.  It is all downhill at this point.   I gave up a 14 year smoking habit 11 years ago only to switch to a can to 1.5 cans per day of smokeless tobacco.  While I was going through some flu-like symptoms at the end of Feb, I told myself that there would be no better time to quit since I already felt like s***.  I finished my last dip on Feb 28 at 8:00 PM and haven't looked back since. 

I can't believe I haven't said it here yet.   Last Saturday, I went on a tour of the Anderson Co. Jail. It was an eye opening experience.    About half way though the tour they ask if we were brave enough to go in.  I don't think any of us expected that they would actually walk us right though general population. Went though both the mens and womans general population.   They did tell us these were the low risk inmates.  Ones with jail jobs working toward reducing their sentences. They did also take us to the max secure area.  Those guys where in their cells while we went in the open area between them.       That place was a major maze.   Not bars but solid thick windows and solid doors. If someone were to get though 1 door, they would still be locked behind several more.   Not that I ever had any doubt but I certainly wouldn't want to spend any time there at the request of Law enforcement.   I

I KNOW pull downs have marks. It's just a part of life and USUALLY they don't affect anything. Well, these were swaged down, WAY undersize. No big deal, its just a few bullets, so lets take them back right? WRONG! The dude at A&H proceeds to say that he's sold ten thousand of them and had no complaints. "Soooo....could you just take a look at these? Several of these will fall down into a fully resized case." NO, you just don't know what you're doing. "So I have them here and you're not even going to look at them?" NO! There's nothing wrong with them! Well, bless my soul! How wonderful it must be to know without seeing! How truly astounding it must be to have such claircognizance that you don't even need visual confirmation to KNOW that something is what it is! What an Arrogant, Narcissistic Ahole! I'm not immune to being wrong. I could be. Maybe I ain't doing something right. BUT what kind of business man REFUSES (hatefully) to even inspect the items in question? ANYWAY, the bullets themselves mean nothing. I'll pitch them in the trash before I worry over the cost of 200 bullets. It's the attitude and treatment received. To daddyo's point, Earth Day has become a bit of a euphemism for "liberal political views of all types are expressed here" which don't always jive with more conservative leaning forums like this one, though not everyone here is on the right. It's disingenuous to think that "Earth Day" doesn't come with lots of baggage and is simply a day to promote conservation and reclamation. Its early connections with the anti-war  movement and subsequent association with militant environmentalists/eco-terrorists pretty much sealed that fate.   To mark42202's point, one might be surprised at the creative handcrafted stuff you can find at pretty much any local festival. Some of the people who make that stuff are as talented as they come. I doubt a local Earth Day fest in Sparta is going to be a hotbed of liberalism.   Me, I like clean rivers and lakes, clean air, and rain that doesn't eat the paint off my car. I just don't feel the need to swear off bathing and to smell of weed and patchouli to help make that happen. ;)   I appreciate local groups trying to take this back to what it's supposed to be about, raising awareness of environmental issues that concern us all, promoting peaceful dialog, providing opportunities for community service, and making us all stop and think a little more about how our purchasing decisions and daily behaviors affect the planet we all rely on for survival.

At this rate, by the time I figure it's okay to go shoot some .22's I will have to do more cleaning on my ammo than my guns. I'll let an inch of dust build up before I pay that for a brick, and just keep shootin the .223 until this mess breaks.

Is it more or less foolish to buy a $70 brick there, or to spend $50 in gas going from Wal Mart to Wal Mart trying to find a $20 brick in stock? Some people have more money than others. Some have more time than others. Some must have more patience than others.   I'm glad there are different types of businesses set up to cater to different types of customers.

In the past many retailers lumped C&R FFL's in with regular FFL's and offered the same discounts.   Kinda like a professional courtesy I guess...your LGS does not always call up some wholesaler to provide all their inventory, they buy it from places like Midway, PSA, etc., etc.

when i got my safe i called them to check to see what they had and their prices.   but i went with parker's safe and vaults. parker's is a vendor here on the site.  hands down he is the best to work with.  when i got my safe i looked and shopped for several months to get the best deal/price for the safe that i wanted.  i looked at friends safes, looked at the box stores, and internet sites.  by the time i was ready to buy i knew what i wanted by size and fire rating.  i had it down to two or three brands that fit what i wanted. remember to go bigger than what you think you need and get the highest fire rating you can.  then i started calling around to different safe dealers in and out of state.  the only person that talked to me like he cared was aaron parker.  aaron parker answered all my questions by phone when others did not have the time and all they could say was to come to their store.  if a business can not spend five minutes or more on a phone with me, then they don't need my money.  i did the deal over the phone with him, sight unseen.  aaron showed up with everything needed to install the safe right the first time.  fast and easy and his install price was the lowest.  his safe prices were the lowest also.  do your home work on the safe before you shop.  know what you want and what you can spend.  a good safe is not cheap, several thousands dollars for a safe with a high fire rating.  when you know what safe you want and how much you can spend then compare the price against parker's.  there are lots of internet safe sites with low prices, but when it comes down to it all it is service after the sale if anything goes wrong.  also i asked aaron if i moved would he come out and move the safe for me and he stated that he does move safes for a low fee.

I know they're biased. That's why I just added the link. Whether there are any real trends or not, their predictions haven't come through. Still, the tards will do something to damage the economy on a regular basis to fight it. So, my basic attitude is...

had a 7.3.  ran the wheels off.  then i pickup a used 2004 with the 6.0 three years ago.  i knew of the problems with the motor.  the main problem is the antifreeze that ford uses. they call it ford gold.  ford used car antifreeze and not diesel motor type antifreeze, the red color. the factory antifreeze after some time will plug the oil cooler and in turn this will over heat the motor oil, motor, and egr valve.  it is a easy check to see if the truck as the problem with a cheap scan gauge.  you check to coolant temp and the oil temp while driving at 55 on level ground.  you want the two temps not to be more that 15 deg between the two.  lower is better.  high is no so good.  i dropped about $1,800.00 to fix the problem in the truck along with some other small unrelated things.  i plan the cost of the oil cooler fix when i made an offer for the truck.  the good thing is you can show the seller the temp numbers and the ford recall/fix papers when you make an offer.  dealers know of this problem when they sell a used 6.0, but they will not tell you. it is the "buyer be ware" with some dealers.  the 6.0 motor runs like a rocket and will snap you back on take off.  not like the 7.3 that is slow.  the turbo in the 6.0 give you snap no matter the speed you are driving.  i have seen some 6.0 that has not had the work and the temps are good.  the owners told me that they changed out the factory antifreeze to a diesel antifreeze early on.  i don't know anything about the 6.4, but if it has the ford gold antifreeze then it will have the same problem.  so do not over look a ford f250.  there are good deals to be made on a used one if one has the info.

How much deformation can you really expect and how major is that in a house in very close quarters?  I highly doubt that it would really improve the pattern significantly at house ranges.  House to house? Maybe. Under 30 feet? I'll pass.

Are you being serious? Toilet operation is a pretty basic concept for most men. This is really neat but bending over to wash my hands is out of the question for me.

I have OCD and this is when that disorder comes in handy  :pleased: . I check and double check things , then go back and check them again . When I buy a holster , you better believe I check that trigger area by golly ! If in doubt I buy a different holster and that also goes for mag releases . Some holsters will press against the mag release button. Especially on S&W M&P's. The Tagua holsters are bad about that . 

I think that fact that "he wont' go away" has as much to to with the news outlets (and people who refuse to let it drop) as it does Zimmerman himself. He's probably just trying to generate some income but I suspect almost everything he does is going to generate a "news story" and then someone will post it here. ;) As you noted above, except for the attempt to make this a "race" killing Zimmerman and Martin would have been quickly forgotten after the trial (assuming it ever got to be national news in the first place).

Satire is not just "making shit up" as some of these sites seem to think. There needs to be irony, humor and a little bit of a wink that it's not actual truth that's being portrayed.

It absolutely is worth the trouble. It doesn't take any more effort to spread the word of a bad business than it does a good business. Just mention it in a conversation and it will get around. I promise it will spread like wildfire. When businesses do this and people look the other way it only emboldens them and reinforces their bad behavior. They will continue to do it until someone calls them on it. Then they have a choice, change or suffer the consequences. And by consequences I mean telling every person you know of the bad business. I know I would voice my opinion if I thought I got screwed out of a quarter. I would be telling everyone I knew if this happened to me. Especially if they gave me a FU like this business owner did to his customer. The person refusing to check is one thing but to actually belittle a customer is something that is on a whole other level. He had a customer that already spent money and then the business belittles the customer when he has a problem. If you don't want to help that is fine but belittling customers means you do not deserve to take another dime from that customer.
