  4. Based on the way he and his two, main lackeys in the state legislature have acted so far I would almost expect the Haslam supported design to look a bit like this: As far as the non-reflective plate issue goes, to me if the county clerk isn't worried enough about it to address the issue I don't know that I would be, either. I'd probably email them and keep that email handy to show proof that I tried to address the issue - as well as the response from the clerk's office - in case I ever ended up in court over it, though.

  7. I planted cabbage, kholrabi, rosemary, and thyme from some seedlings a week ago. Planted peas, swiss chard, spinach, mesclun, romaine, lettuce, peas, carrots, turnips, radishes, squash, zucchini, cauliflower, basil, dill, leeks, sweet peppers, cucumbers, and watermelon from seeds. Everything is sprouting now but the squash and zucchini. With this round of rain and lots of sunshine, I may have sprouts there in a few days too.   I found this site for planning square-foot gardens: http://www.gardeners.com/Kitchen-Garden-Planner/kgp_home,default,pg.html You can choose one of their pre-planned designs, or make your own. Just drag-n-drop the plants into the grid.

  12. I think suggesting that someone just get a different job is really rather ridiculous. We have more people out of work in this country today than any other time in the country's history - anyone who currently has a job had damn well better keep it. There is nothing wrong with looking around and keeping options open but there is more to a career and finding the right position than whether a company allows firearms on their property.

  15. Yep, they have had license plate lights on cars since the Roaring 20's when cars were only required to have 1 tail light and Plate light combination. That reminds me of my Uncle Hugh. He was a farmer and he had hogs he would feed every evening and he drove an old 51 Chevy to the hog lot down hwy 70 about two miles. While he was in the hog lot one night a few hogs were scratching them selves on his old car bumper just after coming out of pig pond and they covered up the tail lights on that old chevy with mud. On his way back home he got pulled over by a State Trooper. The trooper waked up to the window and said sir, I had to pull you over because your tail lights are not working. Now you had to know my uncle but I swear this happened because I was about 10 years old and with him. He told the Trooper that they dang sure are working and he gets out and walks to the back of the car. Looks at te back of the car and hauls off and kicks the fender and knocks all the dry mud off the fenders and there is them bright red tail lights all lit up. The trooper took off his hat and scratched his head and handed him his license back and said you have a good night Mr Greer and got in his Patrol car and drove off. From then on my Uncle would look at the back of his old chevy before going back home after dark from the hog lots..................

  17. I respectfully disagree. Loser pays (in the true sense) protects wrongdoers far more than it helps the wrongly accused. Tennessee adopted a watered down "loser pays" rule that went into effect last year. However, if you do the research, Tennessee has not had a problem of any significance with unmerited lawsuits. If a lawsuit is filed that has virtually no chance to win, it is much more likely to get dismissed VERY early in the case than it is to get to settlement. And under current Tennesssee, could require the plaintiff to pay for costs, attorneys fees, and loss of income for the defendant. The "loser pays" statute only applies in certain cases and only if the case is dismissed within a short time. Now, with the current discussion, I do think it is possible to bring a lawsuit against a business owner that prohibits carry in some very limited circumstances. Tennessee case law has recognized a limited duty for businesses to take measures to protect patrons when there is a known threat. Walmart got hit years ago in Memphis for failing to protect patrons because Walmart was well aware of some violent criminal activity in its parking lot. The case law is pretty clear, though, that the business must be aware of an "unreasonable risk" of violent activity on the premises under control of the business. If someone could show that violent crime was known to business (and probably not know to the patron) and that the prohibition contributed to death or injury, then there's a chance that liability would occur.

  25. My opinion is, in the end he was just being arrested for drunkenness, or whatever. If he struggles a little so what. If he wiggles free, so what. If he was present a violent danger to the officer and others, ok, but I have my doubts about that. I realize he could try to grab a weapon and all that. But he was clearly in control by two other officer before the choke was applied. I feel it was excessive and glad JJ acted with authority.

  26. Many people know that I carry a gun. Family gatherings when I take my wnd breaker off and open carry and people that are not family but friends that get invited to the shindig. Some of them will eventually get around to that question of. Would you really shoot someone???? Depending on who they are and the tone of their voice when asking has a lot to do with my reply. Most times I will try and be polite and reply only as last resort. If the person asking is kind of cocky like he may be an anti gun person my reply might be yea I would shoot someone and if need be might shoot them several times. I had one guy at a gathering a few months back of family and friends and he was totally determined to try and embarass the fact that I was packing a gun. He was a young cocky friend of one of my older grandsons. My grandson tried to get him to stop asking questions about it. Finally I went out of front porch because we don't smoke in daughters home and he and my grandson followed. He asked me if I felt like a tough guy because I carried a gun and he doubted I would use it or kill someone. I finally turned and looked at him and said,  "Son I have killed more men in my life than I would ever want to remember and it is not nor ever will be something I am proud of but people kill people in war. So now you know that i have killed in the past and if it ever came down to needing to defend myself or family or even a total stranger in danger by another yes I would kill again. With that he went back insde and made sure he kept his distance from me till he and his friends left. I was just wondering ow many other folks may have had that question put to them and what their answers were???

  29. They were both right. The standard reamer will cut the throat. But it is not a throating reamer. Throating readers are for cutting MORE throat. If you're wanting to lengthen the throat on a standard chamber, you're going to need a separate throating reamer. IF, however, your chamber was cut with little or no throat and you want to cut it to a standard length then the chamber reamer will do that. I hope I stated that clearly. If it's all still clear as mud, email Manson, tell them what you have (chamber- and reamer-wise) and they'll tell you what you need.

  36. Do that, I'd like to know the answer. They always tell me they never get any. There was another guy there that morning and I got the feeling he was a reseller, he seemed very familiar with the lady behind the counter (older heavy set dark hair) and knew .22 was going to be there before she even brought it out. I was there getting oil for my truck and overheard him questioning another employee about ammo and where the sporting goods dept. worker was. While he was waiting for her to break it out of the case he looked at me and said "This stuff is like gold."

  37.   Would assume that messing with throat enters realm of deadly force. I know you see "choke holds" or used to, but I can't hardly believe they are on anyone's "approved" force continuum for mere restraint or perhaps even in incapacitation unless officer were in real danger?   Reasoning being, could be lethal not just from strangulation itself but possibility of damaged larynx. Anything above collarbone is also no go area for anything but possible lethal hits with baton too in all the charts I've seen.   Could certainly be wrong, of course.   - OS

  39. They did quit doing the 10% on 1st Wednesday which I thought kinda sucked but living of fixed income and monthly check did not fall so I could take advantage every month till I learned that they now give 5% every Wednesday to Seniors. If you shop 4 times a month and not do all your shopping on one day and shop 4 times a month your really getting 20% off a month. I have learned to shop 4 times a month and buy select things I need on each trip. A lot easier to keep fresh veggies in the house by shopping 4 times a month too. Not good if you have to drive far but I am about 3 minutes from Kroger so gives me a reason to get out more and I can still rack up fuel points and if I am close to my 1$ or 2$ off I will fill in with gift cards. I don't know how many folks have been doing this but you can get up to 35 gallons per purchase on fuel points per month. My Jeep holds 18 gallons when on empty so I have five 5 gallon cans I take with me and I fill the Jeep up and then finish getting my 35 gallons by filling gas cans. By doing that I have enough gas for the whole month or might use some in my bass boat to go fishing and lawn mowers.. I make sure I get my moneys worth when ever possible................jmho

  42. Actually ~ A lot of the time, if its $200+ (and its a nice rounded number) -- Its fraud.  The gift card will be legit, the Credit Card that purchased it however, will be stolen.   I actually got in trouble a couple times back in my teen years working at Macy's.  The thieves would come 5 minutes before closing, and would ask for a gift card.  Being young and dumb and wanting to get out of work as quickly as possible ~ I never checked the ID.  Ended up being stolen Credit Cards, where they purchased the gift cards with them.   Whenever I see gift cards for sale that are over $150-200 ... I automatically assume that is what it is :)  LOL

  43. Just an update: gun ran flawlessly today! All I had to do was move the rear sight 9 clicks to the left and we were golden! Wolfattack went prone and put 3 shots in one hole at about 20 yards with irons... good enough for me! I took it easy going through the first mag. Later, we set up some water-filled jugs, loaded up both my ARs (I took this one, he had my fancier one) with 42rd mags and blazed through them in probably 20-25 seconds, then I burned through another 42rd mag to continue the carnage. Yea... the gun was HOT!!! All the grease and lube was smoking/ steaming off for about 2 minutes. Then I picked it back up and dumped another 30 chasing golf balls. :-) I'm super happy with it! Perfect function, light weight, and no tendency to baby it! Flippin' SWEET!!

I'll catch them in one location one day, go back and not catch anything there. They have been shallow though from 3 to 12 feet. I troll with a hair jig under a float usually set from 3 to 5 feet deep.
