1. First, let me say that I'm a dog lover. Most problem dogs aren't the problem; just like problem children. It's almost always the trashy, dirtbag parents. I have a route I run regularly, and have to pass by this house in order to get to that route, as I live in a no outlet neighborhood. This person regularly lets her dogs run loose despite hollering loudly at their dogs to get them to back off while they're chasing me down the road. They're not overly big dogs, but that isn't the point. Also, I jog with my dog, who happens to be highly trained and will ignore stimuli from other dogs. So they've been a nuisance in the past, but today one of them was able to lunge and connect with the ankle of my dog. I kicked at it and it let go before I could give it a good boot, but now I have the issue of wondering what kind of diseases this dog carries, since obviously the owners does not take care of her pets. I don't understand why it is so hard for people to secure their pets. This is a neighborhood, not a trailer park. Beyond the issue of wondering if their dog will attack passersby, how about worrying about your dog getting run over??? I don't get these folks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

 4. She made the top fold/front page of today's Sunday edition  Murfreesboro Daily News Journal! Huge photo of her with her Sig (lady pictured in the purple shirt), and a nice (albeit "rare") pro-firearms article in a Gannett paper... She's definitely a keeper-- never have to worry about getting "nagged" for buying a new gun or ammo... Guns are a family thing around here... and she's an absolute dead-eye with a pistol.   She started a chapter of "The Well Armed Woman" in Murfreesboro back in January, and has been very pleased with her success.   here's a link to the article:   http://www.dnj.com/article/20140601/LIFESTYLE/306010029/Well-armed-women-More-females-receive-carry-permits-attend-classes-gun-safety   Of course, the usual milktoast whiners are all in a tizzy in the comments section of the article. I laugh at them.

 15. Most people would piss themselves if they were part of a live fire room clearing had they not spent a lot of time training for it. It is all about the training and the training is what leads to trust.

 16. Not a good way to influence people on this site, my friend.  Many of us have been to a real shootin' war, and don't care for another, unless it's forced upon us. So don't come in here throwing around that 3% BS and thumping your chest and looking down on us "fairweather ppl".  As long as we still have free elections to elected our own "dumbass" politicians, we still got a free country.  We aren't close to the point of a rebellion yet.

 17. I'm going to play devils advocate here.   All this talk about safety and breaking 180 blah blah...is all very sensible.   But,   There's a good chance that the same folks saying how stupid and unsafe this might be, are the same people who walk out in front of a moving car in the Walmart parking lot fully expecting (trusting) a complete stranger to stop his moving 3600 lbs. bullet.     Or they will Jay walk when the hand is red trusting that a complete stranger will be paying attention enough to slow down or stop and give them the right away and not get killed!?   I understand the need for being safe.  But why do people not trust other people with a gun in their hand but will trust the exact same person to be a fully competent driver operating a much larger and more deadly machine than a gun?

 19. For a change, I have an interview with Yates Nissan tomorrow. Wish me luck. I had one interview with Viam today, They offered me a job but i think Nissan might be a better company to work for in the end. It's the Decherd plant.   First interview, then hopefully training, then hopefully i'll be working full time. (Just hoping i get hired on).

 20. I have been trying to decide on a car or truck to get for a while now. Started looking at motorcycles a couple weeks ago. Figured I would start back on something small and cheap since i've been 6 years without one. Went and looked at a GS500 Friday night, just didnt appeal to me. Found a 2008 Suzuki Vstrom 650, didnt have any bags on it but looked like it had the mounting hardware for Givi bags. Found a guy with a set of Givi bags for sale. Bought the Vstrom Sat and headed over to the guy with the bags, turns it he was the previous owner. He said he kept the bags cause the guy he sold it to was a PITA to deal with.lol Loving it so far. One of the reasons for a car was I want to do some traveling and see a few places. So now I can just use the bike instead.

 24. If it is a scratch you can catch with your fingernail it will likely take a lot of sanding on a flat surface then polishing to remove it.   Something else that might make it less noticeable is to have it bead blasted. It won't be as shiny but it will be a uniform texture.

 29. I hate it for the pooch but you should call animal control and have it picked up for testing. They may opt to destroy the animal which is a shame, but if you have real concerns and blood was drawn it is the safest bet IMO. Id also advise that you have words with the owner, but I'm sure that's on your to do list already.

 30. Ralph Bone - from my google-foo apparently he quit making knives in the mid 1974-75ish and moved from Lubbock Tx to Colorado to teach. He is gone now I believe. From what I can tell these knives are highly sought after and worth a good chunk of change.

 35.   Actually, I would trust someone I've trained with in this situation MORE than I trust any moron on the road.  I fully expect most people I see to pull out in front of me/cross the center line/run a red light or stop sign or not see me while I'm walking.  Paranoid?  Not really.  I've avoided many more wrecks (not accidents) than I've been in.   Then there are the idiots who are absolutely determined to run into you.  Can't avoid them.

 36. I will add this and then be done. I think that when or if the time ever comes much like the rancher issue out west ever arises around here I would be willing to bet it will pretty much turn out the be a meeting of a bunch of TGO members going to help out a new friend and show what ever support is needed to take care of the issue. I just hope the farmer or rancher we should go to help is smarter than that rancher was......If anything does happen looking forward to meeting a bunch of TGO'ers I have not met yet. Just look for the Red Jeep Chreokee with white letters on the windows. That be me..................jmho   p.s. I  Don't do face book either

 39.
Although breaking the 180 rule is nearly unavoidable in tactical/combat maneuvers, friendly-fire accidents happen all the time. Yes, I trust 1 or 2 people that I've shot with enough for me to consider this non-life-threatening. However it's still not safe, especially judging by SOME of the shooting I saw in this video. They aren't taking fire and there is no mission, so why take this kind of risk?
I would agree that this is a scenario where it is inherently unsafe to be down range during shooting. I was speaking in generalities regarding shooting whilst people being down range. This appears to be the range at LBL. There are no range safeties there, it is just open to the public. People go out there and trash the range with plastic bottles and cardboard boxes (amongst other things) used for targets. They don't pick up after themselves and make the range look like a dump. 40.
Why take the risk? I have a few folks I believe have really believe are safe gun handlers but anyone can make a mistake. This type of mistake could be deadly though. I just can't justify the risk of doing it intentionally. I can wait till the range goes cold.
It really depends on what you're doing. Someone blowing off a drum of 12 gauge at random targets is not a scenario where I would be breaking 90 degrees. A canned range with professionals I've worked with for a while is a different story. 41.
Unsafe, no excuses, no circumstances make it Ok.
You do realize that most SOF and professional shooters do this. It depends on who you're shooting with. I'd never do that on a range with unknown folks. However, this happens on about every flat range in the shooter job world. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

 43. The interview went great. I start the pre-training the second friday in June and it goes for 3 total fridays. 7 am to 3:30 pm each day.   I know it's no guarantee of a job but i have also heard the initial training is worse than the job itself. I guess they have to weed out those who want to work and those who just want to goof off.   Just glad they are giving me a chance. Thanks all

 45. I find the whole argument ludicrous. Nature abhors a vacuum. ANY life that refuses to defend itself is culled at some point in time.  The Natural right to self defense has pre-dated governments and indeed exists outside of government. It is an immutable and universal law, recognized in the Talmud, the Bible, in Lex Rex (1644), the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights, and even that decision is illuminated by the Federalist Papers numbers 28,29 and 48. I will not go where I cannot defend myself.
