Make a recording of a bear growling, put it on repeat and turn it up. I hd a similar problem, kid blasting his rap at all hours. Recorded a machine gun, pointed the speaker right at his house and cranked it up, music quit, I'd turn it off, music back loud, I turned it on. Took about 2 hrs for him to get the idea. Haven't heard the rolling boom box in months.

Well, I graduated sniper school yesterday. Had a blast, learned a lot, and happy it all went very well. The course was in Albuquerque, NM. Mark Dietz was the main instructor and my best bud Hugh Stewert was the other instructor. Stew is a fellow Sky Soldier and a co-worker with me overseas. This school was a POST certified school and allows me to get into Department of States sniper school for my work, which was a goal of mine. So, now I just need to wait for another DoS school to have a slot open. I've always wanted to do this, and finally got the chance, so I'm extremely happy I finally completed a long standing goal of mine. Here's a couple pictures from school.

I feel bad reading all of this.   I have a dog that barks.   However I feel better knowing that apparently I am one of the only folks that actually cares. When Bandit barks, I tell her to stop. She stops. I don't let her bark longer than a minute without correcting the issue.

I sympathize. For me it was the bicycles. My knee just couldn't handle it any longer. Turning the page on a part of your life is tough. My solution for you is to buy a gun.

X-Repair Shop  X-Insurance Claim X-Maintenance Shops X-Dealer X-Auction X-Police reports   None apply!  Have done all of my repairs, let a buddy repair my truck once, pretty sure he did not report it, no auctions, and hopefully no police report.  So I guess my truck is worth a tid bit extra, its should have a clean bill of health on paper since its not on the Grid!  Seriously, I consider a Carfax just smoke/mirrors for a sales gimmick!  I am sure there is a 100ft yacht at some marina that is named Carfax, owned by the sales dude that started Carfax!

At one of the tables there was a real 1903A4 Sniper for sale.   Did my best to buy it.    The seller and I started at over a thousand + dollars apart from each other, but worked it down to a few hundred dollars difference between us.  We just couldn't close the deal.   It was still there when I left this afternoon.   He has my card......  :x:

I bought the .223 Ruger American, and we were shooting 14 x 14 inch targets out to 400 yards with ease. We were also hitting 500 and 600 yard targets, also 14 x 14", but not as easily. We were shooting in Wyoming at the Jackson Hole Gun Club, and using plain Remington ammo, nothing special. I think I paid $360 for it and we were using a Nikon 3-9 x 40 scope (not included in price). I recommend this rifle for casual shooters, and maybe even serious shooters.

OS, I got almost the same recommendation from another source, so I've decided to give it a try.  I decided to order a few yards of different material and enough clips to secure it.  I even ordered some ladderlock buckles so I can have the adjustable length as I have it slung.  I understand some people love the hooks for the ends of the sling, but I've never been a fan.  Here is where I got it all from.   jonathon1259- solid recommendation there.  I may end up picking one of those up just cause they're so cheap.  Thanks.

Picking the proper holster is about as difficult as picking the best handgun.  I've got a collection of both guns and holsters.

The price I quoted was at Franklin Gun Shop.   No surprise there.

Was at the Murfreesboro gun show Saturday as soon as they opened. Pretty good crowd, and nearly 7 out of 10 folks coming in the door had one or more guns for sale or trade. The AC was definitely working, I stayed until noon and was not uncomfortable despite the crowd. Wasn't cold or chilly, but also not warm, maybe 72-74 degrees. I saw Sam running the reloading booth for David, although for some reason they had a lot less product at this show so I wasn't able to stock up on some things that I might have normally grabbed. No worries, I will get them next time. Saw some good prices on ammo cans, 9mm ammo, and even a few guns. Purchased some desiccant bags, belly band holster, 50 bmg bullets, and a gun from hvbike (super guy). There were at least 30 dealers selling .22 LR ammo at this show. About half of these dealers didn't have any prices marked on the .22 LR (even though many of their other items were priced). I didn't bother asking those guys for their .22 LR prices because I figured if they were asking a fair price they would have just marked it and sold it quickly. For all the other dealers which did have their .22 LR prices marked, nearly all of them were asking $0.10 per round or $50 per brick regardless of brand or type. I actually took all of this as a good sign for the following reasons: - The .22 LR supply levels must be recovering at least a bit, as there were many more dealers with .22 LR for sale at this show than I have seen for sale anywhere in over 2 years. And most of these dealers had several brands and types in stock, not just one obscure kind. Nearly every brand and load type was available at this show if you were willing to pay the asking price, so at least the selection was good. - While still high, the most common asking price of $0.10 per round is still much lower than many of the crazy price-gouging resellers who had been asking (and often getting) up to $0.15 or even $0.20 per round! So the dealers are at least starting to lower their prices. - And the best news of all... I was at the show for several hours and I only saw one guy actually buying .22 LR ammo. Most of the dealers with .22 LR in stock were not selling any, including those at $50 per brick. So the dealers will soon realize that the demand for over-priced .22 LR is now drying up, thus they will be forced to lower their prices again soon or they will be sitting on the ammo for a long while.

I have a number of chronic barkers around me. Of 5 - 6 dog families near us, only one attempts to quiet their animals. Very discouraging. In my experience, dog owners that care actually care are very rare. We are absolutely unable to sit outside without a barker.

100% agree.    Never met a snake ever that ended well for one of us.  If you notice I am the one typing, so guess what happened to the other!  I am being serious!

I just make mine -- have one for each AR rifle and pistol/firearm. :) Also made one for AK, I thought some of them commies were pretty big guys but the military type sling that came with it was too small. 1.5" nylon strapping, a couple of slides: And a couple HK type 1.25" clips (1.5" strap will work okay in them, they don't seem to make 1.5" clips): Neat part is that you can quickly convert to single point sling if you want by clipping one clip through hole in the other. I've found that whatever length adjusted to for two point is also about right for the one point also. Leave extra length, can be adjusted by the slides, leave the excess as in loop that holds the clips, or use two sets of slides, the second to hold excess. Melt ends of cuts with lighter to stop unraveling. Slings cost around 8 clams each in materials, make one in 5 minutes. - OS

Funny that the dogs didn't react to the snake before she ever got near it. Kasey will react to ta snake out in my yard long before I ever get close to it and start barking and running around it. Most dogs will react to them. It very well could have been a Copperhead as greg mentioned. i don't know how true this is or if it's and old wives tale but I have heard that you can tell if your near a Copperhead because you will smell a strong odor very similar to a cucumber or cucumber patch. Like I said don't know how true it is since my sense of smell was destroyed by napalm years ago..........Would like to know if anyone could verify it to be true or false.... :whistle: :whistle:

Well I actually bought these few guns for family that had plans of getting HCP's and now they are going to put off getting them for a while so they don't want to pay for the guns now either so I have money invested and it's not my fault they have decided to put off getting them but they don't care because it is not their money tied up so I will sell these and when they get ready to take the tests they can shoot some of my guns to get the HCP"s and then go buy their own guns..................jmho

I think the rub is the kickbacks and the wives business fronts to conceal the kickbacks.  So what was the kickback and by whom?

The best way I've found to prepare a hot pocket is to take it out of the package and place it directly in the toilet. :sick:  You cut out the middle man that way.

I assume the only way a carfax works is that someone uses a dealer to make repairs, right?  If thats the case, every auto I have owned, I have never used a dealer, I guess my carfaxes look great!

I always used Never Dull Magic wadding to remove the powder from the front of the cylinder on my 686. I don't think I would recommend it for a blued gun but it works great on SS.

I have not seen a  S&W 64 under $400-$450 in years and seldom see them now. I was in GT Distributors  in Roswell GA which connects to Chattanooga TN  and the had a case full for $319 The one I looked over was in good shape with lockup. The  salesperson said they were trade from local Parks&Rec Police.  They also had tons of S&W M&P .40 Atlanta Police trades for $299 with three mags New to like new condition,seems Atlanta PD only had them a few months and hated them and they went to Glocks. If you buy a pistol there they run it up the street to a shop in TN and transfer for fifteen dollars plus your $10 tics.  

I use KleenBore Lead Away on my 686. Only thing I've found that works with ease. Found it on Amazon.

I think it would be "safer" not to head down range when the line was hot, even if I had trained with my shooting buddies.   I understand they have trained / deployed together and probably have the skill set to operate safely in this kind of environment.   Heading down range in this particular scenario didn't appear to be a training exercise, just one guy impatient to allow the shooter to finish and wanted to get the target ready for when it was his turn.   What if the Saiga had jammed, shooter muzzle-swept the area when trying to clear and had a ND? Not probably but falls within the realm of possible.

the 180 rule is silly to me: bullets do not go out the muzzle and hang a left.  I have before and will again stand less than 180 from a live shooter if there is a good reason to do so (example, to get a cool muzzle flash pic, with an experienced and trusted shooter who knows I am there and what I am doing).  But this scenario was nothing like the 180 rule.  IMHO the target changer is 100% safe so long as the shooter does not have any freak accidents (drop-discharge type stuff, or hot-brass-down-the-shirt-dance, etc) and the shooter keeps on putting the rounds on his target.   FINE.  But freak accidents and stupidity DO happen, and that makes the scenario totally unsafe and unacceptable to me.   Worse, its unclear but the shooter seems unaware of the other guy.    Shooting is like driving.  There are things you can do that are safe.  There are things you can do that are unsafe.  There are things that are safe with pros but not noobs ("don't try this at home").  There are things that are usually safe but have risks.  And just like driving, you can't trust the other people around you outside of very specific circumstances, usually in a private setting, and not always even then...   so my final answer is: dangerous and unacceptable situation.
