... this is one of them. 1) I bought the scope off of DBTN. 2) I bought the ammunition off of drv2fst. 3) 2.ooohhh helped me change the A2 flash hider out for my BCM gunfighter comp. (thanks again) drv2fst!!!! If you find anymore of that run of BH 77gr laying around, ... I'll take it. :) ... this is what it'll do in "somebody's" LWRC M6. 100yds. 16" LWRC M6A2 SSA-E trigger Leupold VXIII 3.5-10 P.E.P.R. quick release mount Black Hills 77gr OTM - sitting at a picnic table w/ Caldwell bipod (built-in picatinny mount) & squeeze bag under the stock. I shot 3 groups just like this one. I also think the BCM gunfighter comp absolutely made a difference... don't know why? but this gun was a 1.5-2moa gun before.2 points

The entire infrastructure of this country is on the verge of collapse. Power grids, roads, bridges and water supply. It seems congess would rather waste our tax dollars on worthless government programs and sending billions each year to countries that hate us. All the Chinese have to do is wait.2 points

It was a decent show found some slugs at the same price as online. Also found two extended choke tubes for my Condor Outback that were half the online price. Saw .22lr for as low as 4.9 cents per round. Saw some deals on gun prices decent show depending on what you are looking for. Did not find reloading supplies for 45-70 need some .458 405 grain or 300 grain bullets. I met Hickock45 and his son John. They are both very tall2 points

Personally I would look HARD at the Maverick 88. It is IDENTICAL to the Mossberg 500/590 except it has a trigger guard mounted safety, like the 870, rather than the tang mounted safety. The tang mounted safety makes use with a pistol grip or folding stock very awkward. Something else, the Maverick 88 uses standard Mossberg barrels. And finally, the bolt of the Mossberg locks into the barrel so you have 100% steel encircling the shell in case something bad happens. You can pick up a Maverick 88 at most Walmarts for $199. They generally sell two versions, a wood stocked one with a long barrel and a synthetic version with a short, tactical style, barrel. And anything that will fit a Mossberg will fit the Maverick 88 so there are plenty of aftermarket support for them. It IS the best bang for the buck in the shotgun market.2 points

I would look for an 870 Wingmaster from the 70s or 80s. No comparison to the 870s of today. I suppose it may depend on what you want to do with it.2 points

I direct your attention to paragraph four of the attached letter. We all knew the possibility of something like this happening. I wanted to post this as I saw it for the usual suspects to start debate on. Right now it seems contained to short barrel shotguns, but I think it's only a matter of time before this opinion makes its way to SBR's. Too many people are getting around having to pay the $200 for Uncle Sugar to not notice. http://www.shootingsportsretailer.com/2014/11/19/could-this-mean-the-end-of-the-sig-brace/1 point

Two years ago, I decided that I wanted a rifle for target shooting with a secondary function of SHTF gun should "something" happen. I debated between an AR, AK, and the Mini-14. I settled on the Mini-14 at that time for two reasons--price and reputation for reliability. Over that time, my original Mini-14 was sent back to Ruger three times for repeated failure to extract problems; on the third time, they replaced the entire gun. I gave the replacement a chance, but after about 200 rounds with more than a few jams, I was getting frustrated. The kicker was when a case got stuck so bad that I had to use a hammer on the charging handle to get it free. So the replacement was sent back to Ruger; this time I just asked for a refund because I couldn't trust the Mini-14. I received a call this week that they were sending a refund (fortunately I had the original receipts). Unfortunately, I have a few Mini-specific accessories like magazines, an ATI folding stock, and Tech Sights that I will now have to try to sell. I have a feeling it will be like selling replacement headlights for an Edsel. So, I have been looking at ARs this week. Most of my knowledge comes from the internet and the gun shop employees. I have looked at the AR basic guides on various websites, and I have read various first-time AR threads on a few message boards. Right now, I don't think that I will be attaching anything to the handgaurd, and the round handgaurd seems to feel right. The only thing that I could forsee wanting to add would be a light (maybe). I saw a picture of an AR with a round handgaurd, but it looked like it had a narrow rail on the bottom. So, in terms of future proofing, is that a viable option for a light, or is a quad rail necessary? Also, the opinions on forward assists seems to be that most people never used them. Dust covers, on the other hand, seem to be useful, but I only have other's frame of reference as to their utility. Of ~$700 guns that I have looked at, some have dust covers and forward assists, but others do not. I'm also divided on buying complete gun versus building. The main reason for me to buy complete would be reliability, versus cost saving, learning experience, and possibly choosing an exact configuration with a build. It was somewhat weird when I was handling the guns--my muscle memory from the Mini-14 had me trying to rock the magazines into place. It also seemed the guns were lighter, but that might be just because they were unloaded. I'm sure some of the advice y'all have has probably already been given, and you might be tired of the same old threads, but if anyone has the same unique perspective of switching from Mini-14 to AR, I would appreciate it. "The check is in the mail" this week, so I might be buying soon after Thanksgiving. I think Gander Mountain has an M&P 15 Sport with 4 additional magazines on Black Friday, but I shudder at the thought of even trying to get that deal.1 point

Well, again, we'll just have to see. These seem like close enough to two diametrically opposed opinions that something may have to give with a revision or something, who knows. First opinion I've ever seen from this "sub division". Again, I wonder if these guys actually consult or what, surely must be in same damn building. Could be Earl Griffith has already handed Max's Acting Director ass to him for all we know. - OS1 point

I saw 4 youngsters and 1 mature doe this morning but the wind had them on edge. I was going to go hunt on the other side of the county this afternoon but went up to my folks to eat lunch and fell asleep on the couch until 2:30 so I just stayed here. I just had a young 6 point cruise through and I think I got him on the GoPro. This is my first time using one so I'm not sure I did it right.1 point

You should have no trouble selling them for at least 60% of retail price, maybe more. But not here unless you become a Bennie. :) Your Mini experience is mystifying, I have two and they've been as reliable as my ARs, which is to say, rock solid. I have had a couple of stuck casings, but have on my ARs also. Nothing that a gentle Garand stomp on the Mini or gentle mortar on the ARs hasn't easily cleared though. - OS1 point

I've already installed a D model hammer spring, performed a trigger & action job, & installed an Elite II skeleton hammer & after a long wait, I finally picked up a SGS style compensator for my Beretta 92G Brigadier Elite. It adds a little weight up front & has three upward firing ports. The Brigs already have a gentle recoil so I can't wait to try it out with the new compensator attatched. I'll try to post better quality photos when I take it to the range.1 point

Looking to purchase my first 12 gauge. Don't want to spend a lot so i've been looking at the Rem 870. What is the difference between the standard 870 express, super magnum, tactical, and police models? I know the tactical has the rail and muzzle device. Anything change in the 870 design/materials over the years as far as quality in parts, i.e, plastic components vs steel? Hoping to take advantage of the black friday specials coming up and find one then.1 point

My bad for that. I meant it's always better to shoot everything in the caliber you can get your hands on. I've had the luxury of owning them without firing prior dropping the cash on them. I would have stuck with Smiths and been happy. Please don't get me wrong I was shooting these guns since I was 18, which is close to 44 years ago. My first big gun was the Colt. 45 and it had some kick and shot fine but SAO, leaving one bullet behind along with slow reloading meaning it was a wonderful plinking gun back then. My primary weapon back then was a Remington 1911A1. My next gun's were actually three Cowboy Style Rugers. I went into the Service back then and they were very cheap to buy form the BX back then. I picked up a .22lr,/.22Mag combo then a .38/.357/9mm combo and they shot so well I bought the .44 mag. Whoops! What I found, although I didn't know it at the time, was the .44 had a high barrel centerline. This meant the moment of angle, pivot point when the gun went bang was much higher than on the S&W. This meant the pistol rotated heavily in my hand and the backside of the hammer would slam back into the web of my hand between my thumb and forefinger. Not the most comfortable feeling everytime I shot it and I developed a noticeable flinch from shooting it. Not so much from the pain as from the anticipation of the pain. I finally ran into a guy with a M-29/2. What a difference when I shot it! Yes, it goes bang and pushes back and up and you can develop a small flinch at around shot #10 but not because of any pain just anticipating its gonna go bang but it's easy to hold through the shot. Nice pistol and accurate. My son-in-law bought a S&W .460 and a .500 so I've shot both go of those, also. The .460 reminds me of my .44 mag and is a pleasure to shoot, just like my 29/2. The .500 reminds me of my old Ruger .44 mag. although not so much due to the rotation of the gun in my hand but due to it's heavy recoil. It's just too much to be a pleasure to shooting, IMHO. I've had a DE in .44 mag which I found a pleasure to shoot also. The darn thing is so heavy that there is not much felt recoil although the mass of the slide helps the gun jump in your hand. And again. my Son-in-law has a DE .500 which I did not find a pleasure to shoot. You need to shoot one wearing shooting glasses because the cases have a tendency to come back and "dink" you in the forehead above your eyebrows. Ow.... If you let someone shoot one you also need to make sure they have a good grip on the thing because it will come back and ding someone unsuspecting foo..er...shooter on the forehead, too. Redhawks... I already mentioned I was't that fond of the triggers compared to Smith's. Hmmm, now that we've talked about this I have to sadly say I don't have any Rugers in the house although I've shot some worked over 2nd gen Vaquero .45's that were sweet. I think I could own a pair of those. You are absolutely correct that everyone has different ideas as to what trips their trigger. That's why there are so many manufacturers out there. My thoughts were in answer to your question although I apologize for not going into more detail which probably gives one more ideas as to the why folks buy what they buy. Also, these were just my prefs over the years. Lp1 point

Wingmaster and Police versions are all metal Magnum means it takes up to 3" shells Super Magnum means it takes up to 3 1/2" shells Tactical is just a dressed up Express model. The Express is an economy version, comparable to a Mossberg 500. The Police is more comparable to the Mossberg 590. If you dont mind spending the money, get a Police Magnum for tactical/defense use or a Wingmaster for hunting.1 point

I was in Scottsdale, AZ the other day. I saw a bumper sticker on a parked car that read: " I miss Chicago" . So I broke the window, stole the radio, shot out two of the tires, added an Obama bumper sticker and left a note that read, "Hope this helps.â€1 point

I wish they would make a primitive muzzleloader only season. I used to love lobbing a Hail Mary at one 100yds away with my old gun just hoping to hit deer. Then putting that old rusty pos in the bath tub to clean it. I like muzzleloader hunting but I definitely like my newer one :)1 point

Back about 4 or 5 years ago thieves had a fetish for F150 Ford tailgates and I had a bunch of bass fishing buddies come in from night fishing to find their tail gates taken. Nothing else was touched. Just tailgates. Another time a large company up in east Tennessee got video of a black Chevy Suburban towing a dual axle trailer and that night when workers left work about 20 of them had F 150 gates were gone. They know the trailer was full of tail gates but no one could get and ID of the truck. Back before that it was catalytic converters and they were not selective on those at all. That was happening state wide at every lake at every boat ramp and all that ended on night at Percy Priest lake at the launch ramp at Long Hunter State Park. Police were called to the launch ramp because there was 3 bodies there. 1 guy dead sitting behind the steering wheel of a black van, one laying in the middle of the parking lot with two converters beside him and one guy under a pick up with a rechargeable sawsall and a converter half cut off. All 3 where shot twice. They were found when a tournament came in at Midnight to weigh in the fish. Police said they needed a list of all the anglers in the tournament. All teams were accounted for and all still there. Many of them needed police reports for the insurance companies to get their trucks repaired. The police ask if they saw anyone else there that night when they arrived and the tournament director said their was water on the ramp that showed a boat trailer had loaded a boat sometime earlier but it was not a tournament boat because they were all there. No one wanted to talk about it but no one was mad because it happened. That was almost 10 years ago now and the crime is still unsolved and the three men killed were from Russellville, KY according to the van ownership and Identifications. All I can say is the person that caught these bad guys is one hard cold person that must have freon flowing in his or her veins...................jmho1 point

I just got of the phone with Dave, the Tanto Bladed knifes will be stone washed, blades and have stonewashed, pocket clips as well, they will cost the same as the two tone regular bladed knives but they are different so no T is needed, The 3 bullet hole designs will be on the back of the blades on both knives, prototypes of both should be done in the next few weeks,1 point

He is a good guy. I have talked to him in the past and he has always been honest with me. He was the one who is suing on behalf of those who were approved to make a MG but later had the permission retracted. Personally ownership of inanimate objects should not be regulated at all. What should be regulated is the person owning the item. That is if I can legally own a single shot 22 I should be able to legally own a 50 BMG machine gun in the same manner. If I want to own a tank, hand grenades or a fighter jet I should be able to if I can own a 22 and if I can afford it.1 point
