We've been "organic farming" for years. The general indictment of organic farming you posted is no different than the bull#### organic disciples attribute to conventional farming. I don't mean to be an ass or insult anyone but the extremes of any farming method are pretty lousy. There's a way to do both that's realistic. Sorry for the rant.3 points

lol they're going to protest at the federal courthouse? Not the brightest people in the city. I hope they start marching about 500 feet down broadway where they will run into a crowd of 20,000 drunk rednecks.2 points

I too agree that the video was insightful and well thought out. I do think the use of the robot with an explosive charge is a very slippery slope to venture down. Did the killer need to be stopped? Of course. But once the precedence is set it's not a far stretch to see the use of armed drones considered in domestic scenarios. I have no doubt that it was a tough call to make and I am thankful no more officers lost their lives. I am thankful for, and appreciate, the risks they take each and every time they put on the uniform. My thoughts and prayers are with the slain officers friends and families and obviously for the downed officers. From conversations with a few LEO's I know, I'm not so sure the Baton Rouge case is as much a "black/white" issue as it is, as you mentioned a "thug culture" issue. I've heard and read several officers say or post that the amount of resistance to uniformed officers by all races (Black, White, Asian, Hispanic) embracing the "thug culture" gains them "street cred" among their peers. I know the overwhelming majority of thugs I must deal with working in my ER are white. While it may simply reflect the demographic in the area of the sate where I work, this is what I personally see. It was obviously more diverse racially the 2 decades I worked in New Orleans...again, demographics. Always back to the old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times"...well, these are certainly "interesting times". Thank you the vid.2 points

I think its good you take the time to make these videos. I think these things need to be talked about honestly and openly. Do I think it will make any difference to the hate groups we need to reach? Of course not they don’t want peace and racial harmony; they want the cops to be so intimidated so they leave them alone or they want a payday. As far as excessive force… there was no excessive force and I thought blowing the guy up without putting Officer in there was clever. When you have shot 12 people, you are armed and are an immediate threat to all those around, and you are refusing to surrender; there can be no escalation of force, it’s already at as high a level as it gets. They are justified in dropping the building on you if that what it takes. Both the Orlando shooter and the Dallas shooter were in contact with Police. Either one of them had every opportunity to lay down their weapons and surrender; they chose not to and were killed. Most of these shooters know they are going to die. There are not laws or bans that will stop them. Getting killed is all that will stop them. I don’t care if someone is black, white or something else, when you starting killing innocent people (and cops are innocent people) you need to die. Was the robot blown up?2 points

First and foremost, Merry Christmas! After months of passively searching, I purchased a factory FDE SilencerCo Osprey 45 suppressor for my FN FNX 45 Tactical in FDE. I purchased the suppressor via GunBroker from BMC Tactical/Warrior Steel. After remitting my payment 45 days ago, my suppressor arrived at my preferred LGS, the Nashville Armory. The wait time officially begins as my paperwork has been submitted!1 point

I had been wanting to own a Bullpup rifle for years. I almost bought and FS2000 years ago, but decided to plop the money down on an Arsenal AK instead. Then the Tavor comes along and I kinda fell in love with it. This year at SHOT show, IWI announced they were going to release the Tavor in my favorite modern caliber, 300 Blackout. I finally decided to take the plunge. I preordered a Tavor SAR 300blk back in March. Initially, they were supposed to be released in April/May so I wanted to go ahead and get an order out there. Then it gets pushed from May to July. Back at NRAAM, I got to play with one and really fell in love. Then Tuesday I find out that they have been delayed until Q1 2017. I can't wait that long, especially with Hillary potentially becoming president in November so I went ahead and ordered a normal Tavor. Just picked it up. So I guess I'm finally in that Bullpup life. I love this thing. Anyone else into bullpups? Here's my new rifle: And mostly kitted up:1 point

I looked at them long enough. I pulled the trigger on one last weekend. I'm going to try and shoot it tomorrow and I'm already looking into after market triggers and springs along with a new charging handle. The 5 30 round mags get here Friday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Well..... My opinion on what I would do is simple enough. First I would determine exactly where the mag feed lips are to that hole while in battery. Take the follower out and pack the hole and surrounding area with a layer of play dough. With the mag in place, slowly push the bolt into lock up over oil wet mag lip. open the upper and remove the bolt. make a determination of how many thousandths of clay still covers the hole. Do about a 2.5 second mig weld burn over the hole and cut the weld to an appropriate thickness skin to cover the hole and then rebore that area of the FP hole to only clean out any interior weld. To keep the heat treat distortion to a small area around the hole, a cold wet towel wrap should be used around the bolt. With it being a 9mm, a small weld dot in that part of the bolt would be insignificant to the functional reliability of the bolt.1 point

Organic farming is simply regular farming the way it used to be done. But as a civilization we have evolved. We don't have to resort to using manure as fertilizer. Although it is highly beneficial to do so when you also have animals and have the manure right there in your field all it takes is a little time to move it to where your crops are. Only a dumbass hippie or hipster would put human feces on their crops. We used to not use any type of fertilizer at all. Crops grew just fine. Then someone figured out the manure from the animals made the crops grow better so every one started doing that. Then we figured out what the chemicals and nutrients were that were actually helping and now you can just go buy a bag of fertilizer. Genetically modified plants are simply a way to increase the output for a certain land footprint. Probably not the best and certainly not all natural but it's not the devil either. Herbicides/pesticides are simply to keep bugs and parasites from destroying the harvest. As Raoul said, there is no need to be 100% organic nor go all out commercial and use every chemical available. We have evolved and should be smart enough to strike a balance. If it gives you a decided advantage without killing you, why not. Nothing wrong with hybrid plants, store bought fertilizer, and mild herbicides and pesticides.1 point

I don't buy the ratio argument. You say the ratio is higher for blacks because there are more whites, but neither you, nor the study, takes into account the percentage of engagements per the population, (at least that I saw). One complaint is cops stop more blacks than whites. Ok, remove racial motivations for a stop, (I don't disagree that there are some racially motivated cops, but I'd argue that they are few), and that leaves you with they broke the law. Example: If blacks on the whole break the law more often then they have more contact with police per the population and thus ruling out the majority argument that you have. I hope that makes sense.1 point

I think you also need to take "access to" into account, not just use and transportation. If you are the only user of, say, a suppressor, you have to store it such that no other person has access to it. So if your only safe is accessed by you and your significant other, you might be in violation of the law. A trust that includes you and your significant other, will get around that issue. Even if she doesn't use it, she can now legally have access to it, in other words, access to the same safe. That's at least my interpretation and the reason I chose a trust. While my wife won't be shooting my SBR or suppressor, she does have access to the safe in which they are stored. In my opinion, it also makes it easier to handle the NFA items in case of my death, for handover to my beneficiary for example.1 point

You can get a lot of good info, help and support on a forum like xlforum.net, that is geared to sportsters. They also have great off topic threads!1 point

That's what the law says, but the Knoxville Zoo is a private entity(I know that does not matter per the law) actually sits in Chilhowee Park. The city of Knoxville's position is that Chilhowee Park is not a park, but rather a "public assembly, entertainment and education venue", and assert that they can prohibit firearms. There is a lawsuit going on right now. See: http://wate.com/2015/09/11/no-guns-at-chillhowee-park-despite-guns-in-parks-law/ http://www.knoxnews.com/news/local/loudon-resident-backed-by-nrasues-knoxville-over-chilhowee-park-gun-ban-ep-1309348238-353421031.html https://www.scribd.com/doc/310693710/Knoxville-Parks-Updated-Complaint-4-20-161 point

No you don't have to have a trust, but a trust does have several advantages such as the ability for multiple users and estate planning. It also helped bypass some other hoops to jump through but the powers that be changed that starting today.1 point

I was definitely not impressed. It really felt like a yard sale of their old junk. I searched page after page and never really found anything that caught my interest. I had filled up my wishlist over the last week, and nothing in it showed up on sale. I did end up picking up one of their Fire TV Sticks. It was more on impulse buy than anything else, as a coworker recommended it. They had good deals on their Fire Tablets. I already have a couple I bought from their last sale, so I didn't need any more. For $35 they are a good deal if you don't mind ignoring their overbearing advertising that is mixed in. For $35 it is an outstanding deal if you know how to root them and reload the OS and get rid of the advertising. The ones I have rooted are as nice as the tablet I bought my wife for $300.1 point

Went out yesterday "looking at guns" and came home with this. Been wanting one for a long time for the sole purpose to SBR. Sportsmans Warehouse in Chattanooga had one and here we are now. We all know whats next: let the wait begin. The real trouble is going to be finding a CZ stock kit for it I believe. Time to join all the email notification lists I guess! Once you do one you'll end up with several. Checked my closet last night and I've got 5, could have sworn it was only 2. All joking aside if you end up going the build route I can help you out with that because I've got all the tools assemble uppers and lowers.1 point

After much debate, I decided to have the barrel of my AKT-98 threaded. I had the pleasure of meeting with Robert Forbus at his shop this morning in Greenbrier, TN. Robert was highly recommended by the AK community and I was overjoyed to learn that he was local. Within an hour of arriving at his shop, Robert successfully threaded my barrel to 1/2x28. Robert was extremely accommodating + his attention is to detail is unparalleled. Having said that, I strongly recommend Robert for all of your barrel needs! With further ado, my newly threaded AKT-98 + Dead Air Armament Mask 22 suppressor!1 point

Two weeks ago, I discovered that this little gem that was being offered for sale locally. I, without hesitation, contacted the seller immediately. We came to terms on pricing and finalized the transaction yesterday. Best of all, I had the pleasure of connecting with a fellow local enthusiast. Suffice it to say, I am extremely overjoyed with my purchase and for a variety of reasons. For starters, the rifle is an actual AK that was built by CUGIR in a Romanian factory. Secondly, the rifle is chambered in 22 LR. Last but not least, my nieces and nephews now have another option to shoot at the range. Without further ado, I present my AKT-98!1 point

Bait and switch alert! Nothing yet but the stock. Gun arrives next week, Zenith MKE Z-5RS. HKparts stock came in today so thought I would put a teaser up. Wanted this specific setup since I was a kid, would prefer an auto, but no bueno on that much $. Will have a can on it as well, but want to get the pistol in hand before deciding on a model. Step 1. Stock Step 2. Pistol Step 3. Waste ammo (skipped this step - mp5 pistol is about useless) Step 4. Form 1 - submitted approved Step 4a. Waste ammo - successful That was rapid firing two mags (mixed cheap ammo to see how it functions - this thing chews up aluminum case stuff, there will be no more of it) at 25 yards, standing with the iron sights (no adjustments made from the box). Rear sight is hard to get used to, it sits too low. Another issue was that it's strange holding the front hand guard, much more accurate if you hold it by the front of the mag well/mag. Probably going to go with optics on it even though I said I wouldn't. Step 5. Can & paperwork done Silencerco Hybrid :) , paperwork filed. Step 6. Waste ammo (need to order adapters and then will be able to fire it at the range, it came configured for .308) Step 7. Enjoy1 point

I know everyone has seen a Glock 17 but I bought this several years ago used , oiled it up , stored it away for my son, and now today is the day :no1: My son is 18 years old today and we are so proud of him ! He has awesome grades in school and in 2 months will be going to college to become a history teacher . He has never gotten in trouble , has gotten great grades , and just a great son . When he was smaller he would watch me shoot and he loved it . I got him a small Marlin bolt-action single shot 22LR . He did great . He learned to shoot my Glock 22 and my personal Glock 17 . He loved them . He even has wanted me to show him how to reload 9mm and we are in the beginning stages of that . So when he gets home from school today , his Mom , Sister , and I have an awesome surprise for him ! I am so excited for him . He has no idea about this . I am so excited to see his face that it's like I am the one getting a present ! Sorry to ramble on and just wanted to share . Midway through the month of January, I promised myself that I would purchase a Plum Arsenal 107 if Atlantic Firearms replenished inventory. I submitted a request to be notified when their inventory had replenished and within three days I received an email. Suffice it to say, I had a plum 107 on layaway within minutes of receiving the notification! Before I move forward with my post, I want to commend Atlantic Firearms for consistently delivering on their end. Over the past two years, all of my questions have been answered in a timely manner + their shipping department is first rate. For example, my balance was satisfied on Sunday, I received a shipping notification on Monday, and it was delivered to my local gun shop by Wednesday morning. It was a joyous morning when I received this text message from my dear friend Mike at the Franklin Gun Shop in Franklin, TN. Upon receiving the message, I was on the road within minutes! This is the first Arsenal 107FR that included the original factory box. My 107-31 that I purchased from Atlantic Firearms was sent in a rifle hard case + my 107-34 was purchased from an individual who only had the original manual and cleaning kit. Ladies + gentlemen, I present my Arsenal 107-32! She is absolute beaut! Bar none my favorite of 107's + a overall personal favorite in my collection. If any of you kind folks have a lead on a plum Bulgarian Circle ((10)) waffle magazine. Please let me know as that is the missing piece to complete my rifle! 107-32 x 107-31 x 107-341 point
