Just passed 10 years in various supply chain/logistics/transportation jobs. 3 weeks ago I started a new job working for one of the nations largest truckload carriers as an account manager. It's a very interesting time to work in transportation. The back up at ports, shippers and customers is quite a mess. Trucking isn't sexy but it's fairly recession proof.4 points

30 years with TDOT as an inspector for an engineering field office. I’d get a set of plans, contract, and the low bidder, and we’d go build the road/bridge/whatever. Got my first pension check today.4 points

Retired machinist , machine builder/designer. Always did some side work construction to motorcycle repair and building, could never sit still. Started making knives about 16 years ago (part time). Now I'm finishing up our house and setting up my shop, good times!3 points

I am retired USN. I was an Aviation Machinist Mate where I was relegated to turning wrenches on helicopters. I wanted to go fixed wing and in typical Navy fashion never got the opportunity. I retired in 05 and became a Dad in 06 and have been the house husband/stay at home Dad ever since.3 points

I always wonder why they need to know sex and race on the form at all. Seems like profiling. Of course I also wonder why we need the form at all, especially for those of us that already went through background checks to get a carry permit.3 points

Hahahaahahaahahhahahaahahhahaaaaaa.... ahhhhh... Mine is an intact male, I hear females are slightly less so, but... Mal's are alpha dogs. They won't play ball with other dogs. They will get the ball. The ball belongs to the Malinois. They will terrorize and bully the other dogs if they even think about trying to get the Mal's ball. They can have their own ball, if the Mal approves, but if it likes their ball better, it is now the Mal's new ball, and they may have the old ball; unless it likes that one better... And to be honest, they're so fast... good luck beating the Mal to the ball!3 points

WOW. I understand COVID is everyone’s new crutch. It is theft. It is theft crossing state lines. But even better it is theft by fraud, mail fraud. Call your post master for guidance. They have a law enforcement division. Might even get the feds involved (ATF). Or, we can make a road trip. I’m already packed. Just say when. Think you need to post who they are to protect your brothers here. I’m retired and have nothing better to do than email and make phone calls at all times of the day and night. I’m a night owl and am up at some ungodly hours.2 points

This is where the rookie female armorer failed miserably. A locking bag or range bag would've prevented all of this BS, IMO. All guns should've been under her control from her home to the set to the actor's hands. She failed all three of these criterion. Todays news: News Story So there was indeed live rds found on the set. She failed that part horribly. She failed to control the guns 24/7 & one got loaded with a live rd. She failed that part miserably. If the crew were playing with the gins, using live ammo or blanks (doesn't matter), then she had no control over the guns. She failed miserably again. "Rushed conditions" or not, the guns should've been under her physical control until she handed the gun to Baldwin, NOT having the Asst Director handing him the gun. This was her final & worst failing, IMO. I agree that multiple people should have felony convictions from this goat screw.2 points

ER nurse for 20 years then went into correctional nursing. Loved the ER but got fed up with the politics. Spent more time convincing patients that we are doing an “Excellent “ job instead of actually doing an excellent job. Correctional nursing is way better. Don’t care if they liked their service or the decisions made. Retired now (I think) seem to work harder now then when I was nursing. Farm life and wood working now.2 points

21 years in the Army, retired then 17 as a Logistician, first running three military aviation units as their property manager (Supply guy), 1 year working for John Deere, then back to the same contract issuing flight gear, and now managing their fuel accounts. Come Dec 8, I guess I'll be retired again, but may just pickup a hobby job somewhere else for a company with less than 100 workers.2 points

I don't have a problem with gay people. I've know both gay men and women in my time and frankly its never been a problem What does bother me is these non-binary azzholes who want to make a big deal out of of it and expect special treatment or consideration for it. Being different does NOT make you special. If you aren't sure, take a quick peak in your pants, mark the appropriate box and STFU.2 points

Please don't. There are too many dogs in this world as it is that can't be taken care of. Breeding mutts to make a few bucks is a poor choice. You may not like to think of yourself as a puppy mill, but responsible breeders don't buy random dogs and say "I can breed this with whatever I have". Be more responsible than that.2 points

Wife and I are 73 and got our boosters 10 days ago. She wears her mask when ever she goes in anywhere. I put it on if required or the majority of those in the building have a mask. I don't think masks do much to protect me or anyone else, she things it does. I don't want to rock the boat or start a fight over a mask.2 points

Fully vaccinated (58), but on the fence with the booster. I'm beginning to see this as a big money grab, by Phizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. I understand that the CDC is looking at authorizing a second booster for those that are immune compromised. I've seen no other country looking at a second booster, but us. The thing that will probably push me to get the booster is my mom (79) has pancreatic cancer. She has surgery on the 8th. Then will undergo 6 more months of chemo. Her immune system will be shot. So in order to be around her, I will probably get the booster.2 points

Coolest job interview I've ever had to do was with a young person, a couple of years ago. The Wife, staff & I couldn't honestly figure out whether I would be talking to a masculine girl, or a feminine boy. A more androgynous person I've never met in my life. I actually blurted out, during the interview "What are you?! Sorry, sorry... what's your preferred pronoun?" The answer I got was "I don't give a sh*t. My name's Andi, with an 'I' " I ended up hiring someone more experienced, but to this day I still don't have a clue! Hands down one of the coolest people I've ever met!1 point

I took a group of Scouts camping last weekend - male and female alike. Scouting went coed a few years ago. It’s great. We were one of two countries that didn’t combine the sexes in scouting - Saudi Arabia being the other. Do I have some concerns about the increasingly rare spaces where “boys can just be boys?” Sure, I guess. That said, the organization formally known as Boy Scouts of America is going through bankruptcy right now because of some of the abuse that came along with that space. We all take child protection seriously these days - and by adding female scouts we have to be even more specific. So I’m all for it. Will they go through some growing pains? Almost certainly. For what it’s worth - no one made them do it. It was pure consumer demand. Too many girls were of the impression that Girl Scouts had basically turned into an MLM for selling cookies and they just wanted to go camping. The scouts themselves don’t care in the slightest - and I’ve talked to them a lot about it. It’s actually quite interesting to me that even at the youngest ages - the girls that show up as natural leaders.1 point

He thinks it perfectly fine for him to have a gun, but you shouldn’t have one. He is also idolized and his opinion carries great weight with a large percentage of Americans. To me, this is much more scary than his gun safety record.1 point

I pick up a gun at a gun show and point it at someone and pull the trigger and the gun fires and kills the person, 3 guesses who is going to jail, first 2 guesses do not count. Same same here, it is the person holding the firearm when it goes bang that is responsible.1 point

I go the route of stuffing their postage paid return envelolpe with a letter stating that as long as Wayne is in place and spending member's contributions on fancy suits that they will not see another dime from me. I also point out some of the cases in which I feel the NRA dropped the ball politically. I keep that letter on my computer. Each time I receive a NRA solicitation I print the letter, put it in their envelope and send it in.1 point
