  1. Before people should need to pass a phycological review to own a firearm I think it would be far more important to need one to run for any kind of Public Office-

  2. The answer to that is he’s a felon who can’t own guns. I’m not terribly interested in his ideas on regulating them out of the hands than can.

  3. My wife and I along with my childhood best friend and his wife recently returned from a 7 day Safari in Limpopo Province and all I can say is WoW! Purchased the hunt from a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation auction and was questioning whether we'd go or not but glad we did. Ended up setting up a stalk on a black impala that gave us the slip and.lead to me harvesting the Animal we were initially looking for, a nyala. Next morning I shot a wide impala off a water hole. 3rd.morning my wife was up and smacked a Sable at first light. Was her first bow kill. Our outfitter was fanfastic and the lodging and accommodations were spectacular. The food was bottom line some of the best wild game I have ever tasted in my life. If anybody has ever thought about a Safari, I strongly recommend doing one. You will not regret it.

  5. I just got this as my many month search for a commander variant was not successful and of course as soon as I get this exactly what I want becomes available. So I bought that too and this now has to go unfortunately. Cherry condition Dan Wesson Vigil in 9mm, comes with everything you see including the new VZ grips (wood DW included). It is an absolute dream to shoot and far more accurate than I can be. These are next to impossible to find due to limited production and are some of the softest shooting pistols I've ever fired. With the alloy frame and 25lpi checkering, it's a fantastic carry piece without the usual 1911 weight. $1400 in the greater Nashville area.

  6. Yep. Lived in encinitas for 12 years too. Then back gate Pendleton for 3. Live in in Chattanooga now. Will definitely hit up jalisco. Baja style for me profitt. Love a chili relleno burrito. But a shrimp diablo or fish taco is what I'm craving.... Back to topic. This WAS intentional. They are building a fiefdom in California. That is the ultimate goal. Protections for me, not for thee. Straight peasants . F the virtue signaling uppity moutbreating elites and politicians. They want a very poor/desperate class and the rich can play/protect themselves only. It's all about control. Honestly, they/them don't care about you.

  7. That does come in handy & sights are good with the handle. The Colt AR I had & my M16 had the handle. Guess I'll see how these work out before making changes. My old eyes & progressive lens don't work well with irons anymore. Likely go to a dot or holographic of some sort. Stay tuned I guess. These rear sights have 2 flip up apertures. One large & one small. All fold down flat.

  8. Nice 1911- I have a few myself from RIA to Kimbers- All run great and normally if they don't it's usually an extractor out of adjustment- When it comes to owning 1911's it pays to learn a few different minor adjustments-

  10. I received my paperwork for my Enhanced TN carry permit, so I mailed my completed paperwork and payment on June 1, 2022. I received the card in the US mail on June 28th with the card stating it had been issued June 21. So, about a month for the renewal process. Now, this renewal changes the expiration month (permits expire 8 years from date of issue) so it's no longer my birth month. Do be aware if you decide to renew early that the expiration is 8 years from the issue date of the new permit, NOT 8 years extension from your old permit expiration date. You might want to time it more carefully than I did if you want to keep your expiration month the same as your birth month! FWIW: TN driver's license are the same way - 8 years from date of issue!! Not a huge deal, but it does make it harder to remember when it expires.... Get it on that calendar!!!!

Thanks for looking.

  17. Full length recoil guides make it easier to remove the top end as a unit. They also help make the slide action seem smoother since the spring is bound to the rod and isn't rubbing against the usually rough inside of the recoil spring tunnel. A 5" 1911 can be a bit more complicated to take down in the field unless you have a staple or other bit of wire, but shorter variants tend not to have that problem because you can lift the rod out without having to capture the spring first. I absolutely hate the two-piece guide rods that screw together, however... those definitely require the right tool to take down and have a habit of coming unscrewed at the worst moment. But if a 1-piece or GI guide rod comes in a gun, I tend to live with it and rarely swap one out for the other.

  18. I believe RRA's Chuck and Mark Larson learned their 1911 craft under Les Baer when they were all working in the Springfield Custom shop, then later when they joined Les when he started his own shop. Mark passed away back in 2013 but RRA survives. I have a 6" RRA and it's an excellent shooter, as you would expect.

  20. My wife has gotten into medicinal plants in addition to the herbs we had before. We've slowly switched out our flower beds from decorative stuff to more useful stuff. Most herbs and spices are weeds, and they grow like it. We have dill, basil, lavender, sage, thime, oregano, chamomile, and a huge rosemary.

  22. I agree 100%- I used to carry a Kimber Ultra II in .45 ACP daily-which I really like- But about a year ago or more I talked to a friend that carried a Sig P365- He talked me into a Sig P365X with an RDS-This is all I carry now- If my Ultra's were dot capable, I probably would still be carrying them-

  24. We just started working with it. The attractive part is that it's very efficient in a 12 barrel with supers. We are constantly getting in and out of vehicles and once you put a 7-9" suppessor on a gun it gets unwieldy. It could fix some of those issues, but it's not perfect. It doesn't have enough case capacity for trail boss, but too much for 1680. N32c on the other hand looks promising, but impossible to get. With the bullets that are out now, you'll need to be more careful shooting it in populated area. May like to ricochet. I'm looking at the Jtac elf owl and SBRing it.

  26. The full length guide rod is a un-necessary part that only complicates field striping of the gun. Changing to a standard guide rod is quick and simple. I've done it several times.

  29. I've done this several times and it's no big deal. It's nice to have a tool-less takedown 1911. Some claim that FL guide rods increase accuracy, but this is baloney. Recoils springs may last longer with FL guide rods, however.

As stated above “Titegroup” is in stock at ‘Midsouth Shooters Supplies”. It may not show up on their website as it’s a much sought after powder. Give them a call.

  36. I recently acquired this from a friend, it sat in a police evidence locker for around 20 years, it was in absolute horrid condition when he acquired it, and never received any proper attention. I managed to talk him into parting with it because I wanted to do a project. I present to you the finished product, a New England Arms Pardner 12ga magnum, 18" heavy barrel, single shot, with an exposed hammer.

  37. My grandfather never cleaned any of his guns lol. Ever. He was a regular hunter his whole life, so he used them a lot. When I got some of his old guns they were heavily used and some probably 50yrs in need of a cleaning. Yes, they were rough (character marks ), but they're fine. I wouldn’t worry about it at all. He loved to tell me the story how he dropped his 300H&H in a creek in OR crossing a log while elk hunting. Sounded like a real chore to actually get it back. I often look at it and think of how many stories that rifle could tell. It sure did need a good cleaning when he finally passed it on. I never bothered to clean his revolver. I figured it’s been a great shooter for 50yrs like it is, why should I mess with it now lol. I don't want to mess with it’s mojo. I clean my own guns regularly, but the way he used his firearms taught me that it’s usually for my benefit more than the gun’s lol.
