Favts? What facts are you talking about? The facts are these cops treated this woman like a piece of garbage. Unless all of these cops were deaf dumb and blind They should have been able to see that she needed help. This wasn't some felony arrest with a gunfight that had just ended; It was just a stupid auto accident. Speaking of which, I was a volunteer EMT With my fire department for many years. The last thing I would do to someone involved in an accident Would be to drag them out of their car, handcuff them, and then lay them facedown on the hot asphalt. There are a few people on this forum who defend cops more than I do, but what these cops did cannot be defended.4 points

I'm a "not-happy-about-taxes" guy too...I just happen to be one of Caster's worthless government worker types. Having said that, I'm going to give you the other side. The other day, we get a police call-for-service from someone because they had a wasp's nest in their garage. Really, they called the police for that. This kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME. It's a resource drain. Many people have either become so helpless that they turn to the government for everything OR they adopt the "Dammit, I pay taxes so I'll just make a phone call" attitude. A small cat at the end of your driveway? Sorry, I would never have called somebody for that, taxpayer or not. Deer, sure. A cat? 2 minutes, a shovel, and a garbage bag. Done. Current tax rates enrage me. No arguments. However, at some point it turns into a "chicken or egg" situation. We have too many people in this country with their hand out to the government, in some form, and not enough people doing more productive things with their hands.3 points

I hope she sues them for about $20million and wins...there is simply no excuse for that kind of idiocy...even if she had been drunk she deserved better treatment than that. Hell, the cops usually treat fleeing felons they've caught after a foot chase better than that and will call for medical if the thug even has a scratch.3 points

Sounds like anarchists again looking to exploit the situation. Convenient that anarchists have nothing to lose by destroying society, since they have contributed nothing and therefore have no vested interest. Anarchists and freedom are like a 15 year old with a Ferrari.3 points

I thought this might be something that could be appreciated here. I have a forum dedicated to a make and model of automobile that I have been running for just shy of ten years. What and where isn't important. The who and how is. Through this forum for an obscure and discontinued nameplate I have made a close group of friends. Friends from all over the world. It is amazing how friends from a website can become friends through life. I have been hosting a small event for the last dozen years at Deal's Gap. We all get together, spends some time on the roads, get some cabins at Fontana and have a great weekend. Through this event and the activity on forum many of the folks I have met I have come to call friends, some, family. Officer Bruce Daniel Jacob of the Jackson Mississippi Police Dept. was one I considered family. I have known Bruce for several years through my forum. He became staff, eventually getting to be an administrator of the site within the last year. Bruce was an honest, giving man, and a damn fine mechanic. Several years ago I blew the engine in my car. Bruce happened to have a replacement engine sitting in his shop. It didn't take much and I wound up loading my car onto a trailer and driving from Knoxville, Tennessee to Jackson, Mississippi to spend the week with he and his wife and swap the engine in my car. That was the kind of man Bruce was. If you needed it and he had it, it was yours. That was why he became a police officer. He wanted to make a difference in the world. Even if it was one person. Bruce made a difference to a lot of people. Saturday afternoon Bruce was responding to a call of debris in the lanes of I-55 through Jackson. As Bruce was putting the barbecue grill someone had dropped into the trunk of his cruiser, he was struck and killed by a car. He was 35 years old. I just arrived home from attending his private family and friends only service on Tuesday. It was a small private ceremony, sans media attention or the fanfare of the pubic service that will be held Friday for a fallen hero. I was very emotionally moved to have been invited. Bruce was a dedicated public servant, a dedicated mechanic and a dedicated husband. The memorial reflected on all of these. However the moment that moved me the most was one photograph. It was of myself and Bruce taken those years ago in his shop, working on my car. It was then that I realized that not only had I considered Officer Bruce Jacob family, but he had considered me the same. Myself and a dozen other members of our internet family based on a forum dedicated to a nearly forgotten car came from all over the country to pay our respects to a man who was family in a way that only this modern technological age can define. I would like to end this with a plea to all that see anyone stopped on the side of the road, please, move over as much as you can. To our officers on the site, thank you for the risks you take on a daily basis to protect and serve. To any who have met someone on the internet and come to call them a friend, I think you can understand this. I have been on this site only a few years, but I have met several of you in person, and consider you friends. I know that some of you are very close. I think you would understand this. I will now put the picture that means the world to me. Rest in Peace Officer Bruce Daniel Jacob.2 points

Here's how I feel about Self Defense. It means I don't have to RUN (which I am unable to do due to injuries and age) if approached by a thug and HOPE for SURVIVAL from the situation in a completely DEFENSELESS position. I have a right to exist HASSLE FREE wherever I am legally entitled to be. It reiterates my GOD given right to defend my life and the life of those I LOVE in a dire situation imposed on me by a THUG with the intent to do bodily harm to me or someone I love. If YOU want to grab your ANKLES, that's fine with me, just don't WHINE after you bow down to the thug and endure HIS delightful SINS upon your person or upon someone you love. REMEMBER.....WHEN SECONDS COUNT, HELP IS ONLY MINUTES AWAY......2 points

I despise the media mostly. But sometimes getting this stuff out in public may cause an investigation that might have not been otherwise. Im sure the cops were purposely painted in as bad a light as possible, thats the way the media works. But I also admit that perhaps they acted prematurely in yanking her out of the vehicle that way, at least. No way they coulda suspected diabetic shock, but like others on here have already said, she could have easily had spinal or head injuries that would have been exacerbated by yanking her out like that...absent and threat of a fire, I think Id leave an unconscous person lay or sit til EMTs arrived. End result, it appears no permenant harm done, possibly a learning moment for all. One thing I WILL say, though, and this from a former LEO, I have seen all too many of my peers take some of this stuff too personally, tending to want to "punish" the suspect a little, rather than stay professional. I think its a natural tendency, probably human nature, especially after you get used to seeing too many guilty people get off. But it cannot be allowed to happen. Staying completely professional is the only way. And dont kill the cop for something like this, some good counseling can help. In these days, there is absolutely NO expectation of any kind of public privacy at all. So everyone should be prepared for their actions to be viewed, and viewed again and over analyzed. Not saying dont do the right thing, but am saying stay professional.2 points

Good Steward and whitewolf are right. I had forgotten just where this church is. As they have said; its right square in the middle of a place that no one (...black or otherwise...) wants to be in. There is plenty of this sort of thing in downtown chattanooga (...and other places, includin knoxville and oak ridge -- it's goin there too....). Theirs just happens to be located just a bit north of downtown. The black community in chattanooga (...or anywhere else, for that matter...) is gonna have to come to the realization that they are the source of the problem instead of blaming "whitey" and everything else for their problems. The matriarchial society and no two parent homes are major contributors to thuggism and crime in the black community; anong with the servitude that comes from the exploiting of your brothers and sisters by selling them dope, stealing from them, and raping them. The majority (...not all...) of black folks have placed themselves in voluntary servitude to the dole and their enabling masters and they are reaping a bitter harvest from that decision. No amount of pandering and politicing by a black preacher that believes what Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton have to say about "equality" and political action will fix that. There's a young black preacher sayin the same thing in knoxville; he is just being a bit more careful. These "shepherds of the flock" would do a lot better to tell their parishoners the truth; but my guess is that collections would go down once the truth of the matter wuz spoken. I have very little confidence that they will do that. The first step to solvin any problem is admitting what the problem is. I have serious doubts that those involved want to face the real truth about black crime. Black crime is a real problem; and the current bunch of jackasses in the White House and in the In-Justice department have emboldened it to some extent. The problem aint being "profiled" and "singled out" and bein shot by "stand your ground" folks. The problem is doin the crime to begin with and expecting everybody to put up with it. This has made folks of all colors and creeds nervous and edgy. They are arming themselves and retreating to their homes and "safe locations". That's a very bad thing and could have horrific consequences. It aint been that long ago that there was pretty serious trouble in chattanooga. Ive got friends who saw the burning and pillaging first hand.. Changing "stand your ground' law aint gonna make any difference when people feel threatened; and there are lots of folks that are beginning to feel that way everywhere. This idiotic rhetoric by the race-baiting cottage industry could have real bad consequences. Facing that truth is too sobering for lots of people, black and white. leroy2 points

As a former Police Officer that has participated in high risk entries without having to dress up in tactical gear; I have always opposed this. The possibility of someone flushing some dope should never been a reason for putting people’s lives at risk. High risk means just that. Unless someone’s life is in danger there is no reason to kick in a door in the middle of the night; especially when there is any chance you have the wrong house. If you have to make entry it should be made by Officers in a standard Police uniform that people recognize. What can you do? You can put this right at the feet on the only people responsible for it, and in every department that is one man or woman; the Chief or Sherriff. We saw it happen with disastrous results right here in Lebanon a few years back; needless death of an innocent man because the Officers were not prepared or trained for what happened. This reckless conduct puts the citizens and the Officers at a risk that cannot be justified in everyday use.2 points

I see nothing about those being departmental weapons. So what's the problem with a citizen enjoying some good 2nd Ammendment time? People are all butt hurt up there because he is trash talking the libs on his own private time and they want it to be considered by a gov official and want him disciplined.2 points

I always tell them if that's the way they feel DON'T EVER call me if you're being attacked in your home or in the neighborhood and especially when the SHTF. I had to add that this is exactly why I would be very reluctant to interfere in a situation of violence concerning strangers. They can turn on you in a heartbeat. because of this, my firearms are for the protection of me, my family and very close friends that don't question my sanity. EVERYBODY else can KORA..!!!2 points

I read it...I think the author missed the real point of the issue. It's not what weapons or vehicles or uniforms that cops have, it's doing these raids at all. I think most people can understand and support SWAT style raids when you have an active shooter; barricaded individual; hostages, etc...but not for someone with a dozen pot plants or any other non-violent situation (or where no one's lives are in imminent danger) these raids trample on our rights for no good reason.2 points

Very interesting situation I am listening to. Am currently in Bryan, TX, and on the drive in from Liberal Mecca (Austin) this morning, I was listening to the talk radio station out of Houston. Mike Bell had Quanell X (sp.) on the phone, he had just lead a march on Saturday damning Stand Your Ground, and today he is representing the 23 year old that shot the guy at the service station on Saturday, guy is all in support of SYG now, says it was written for this young girl. The calls in to the show were pretty fired up. Houston has evidently had about enough of Trayvon...2 points

If it was, don't you think you'd have seen it somewhere besides yugster? Wouldn't you expect people like Surefire and Streamlight would charging hundreds of dollars for such a flashlight, especially when they already charge that much for lights with one-tenth that output? My wife always complains that I'm a natural born cynic, but when something seems too good to be true, it most likely is. If the housing was made of magnesium and you set it on fire, it might put out 3800 lumens for a few moments. But otherwise... I doubt it.2 points

Depends on situation. If I have to get down that road for some reason, or if they show major aggression towards me or other drivers then the AR comes out, and we find out just how badly they wanna block that road. If they are blocking the road but not being super aggresive then Id lock the doors, handgun on lap and use the horn and push my way through. If it wasn't critcal to travel the road then Id find another route if they weren't physically attacking others. Tapatalk ate my spelling.2 points

I'm biased towards the 220 with the SRT, because it's a great pistol made even better with that trigger, but if you're not in love with any of them, use your GunBroker account (or create one) to search for closed auctions so you can see what guns actually sold for, as opposed to what the asking prices were. My offhand guess is that the Sig and Smith will provide the best future trade leverage if you want to get into a different gun. The Sig has a very widespread appeal, the Smith has serious fans who know their stuff (not sure whether the aftermarket barrel enhances or detracts from the overall value)...the Mini has less appeal to either group, and now that we're back to <$800 AR-15s, it is less desirable than it was several months ago.1 point

And I've seen a person die from what appeared to be a simple and minor head injury...I never claimed that all "punches in the nose" are equal. Nothing is every quite as cut and dried as we like to think and every situation has to be judged on the totality of the circumstances.1 point

Nice shotgun. I have an older one in 12 gauge. They are sidelock doubles and excellent guns. Some are ejector models and some are hand ejectors. Hunter made bicycles before their merger with or acquisition by L.C. Smith. An early slogan was "Ride a Hunter. Shoot a Smith." Don't take this as the gospel since I'm perfectly capable of mis-reading it but I have Col. Brophy's book on L.C. Smith shotguns and as I read it this field grade (likely a grade 00 in older models) was made in 1942. It shows as one of 4,669 made that year. The history of the company is convoluted. Many records were lost and it can be confusing to me to find just the right set of numbers. If you want an expert opinion I'd take it to Game Fair Ltd. here in Nashville. The owner , John Allen if I remember right is very knowledgeable and could verify information and give an appraisal if needed.1 point

Quanell, it’s obvious from that video your thugs didn’t pay any more attention to you than they do the law. Since you can’t control your members the Police will be stepping in to do it for you. I’m sure you will try to cover for the criminal that attacked that woman trying to get her granddaughter to the hospital. However, that is pretty good video and he will be identified when one of his friends drop a dime on him because they need a break from the Police. Then you will have your own martyr and can protest at his trial. That innocent child could have died because of your reckless action of having protesters block the vehicle. I know that wouldn’t bother you though.1 point

My fellow TGO family, a decade ago, I felt like I lived a life. Woke up, went to the gym, went to work, and came home to hang out with friends and family. My only worry was how many reps of 225 I could do. I drove lifted trucks and gave two cents worth of thought to how much gas cost. I really miss those days, because every day now, this sh$! is hammering down on people who OBEY the law, not gangs or just plain worthless people. I fear that we all may be fighting side by side to protect our families on our own damn soil against people who want to be slaves. God bless the USA and all of you! Proud to be here with every one of you.1 point

We fired it last Saturday. The gun runs flawlessly on M855. I really like it! My only complaint is my eye sight and my dads is so poor that it was hard to use the iron sights on paper targets at 100 yards. We need to either upgrade them or hurry up and get a scope on this gun. :lol:1 point

You could always have him take it to an FFL to hold it for shipping. You can then contact the FFL them to varify everything's authentic. I once did a deal like this. His FFL faxed a copy of their license to my FFL. When it was varified that they were indeed a real FFL gun shop & had the gun in hand I sent payment & recieved my pistol a few days later at my FFL. The most important part is to use a protected payment method like USPS MO & send payment with tracking & require a signature. If he's willing to do this you might be safe, but if he's reluctant then I would walk away. While scams do happen, I've been careful & have had no problems. I've bought as many firearms from out of state/online sellers as I have FTF.1 point
