Long story short your fiancé has been essentially cheating on you with a dude online. The real problem isn't the guy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD7 points

If my wife told me she had been talking to a man in Michigan online and now he's threatening me, the least of my worries would be the dude in Michigan That said, if you have his real name you could at the very least file an order of protection providing you can prove the threat. Otherwise I'd deal with the other 50% of the problem3 points

Ditch the fiancé pronto. Mr. Michigan is likely all talk, don't aggravate the situation by responding. You don't need the drama or BS. Don't think for a second you owe him an explanation on the sudden dropped comms either. Just start saving any threatening or criminally incriminating emails. I imagine you can report him to both the local police and FCC, but I'd be willing to bet that he won't hang around stalking you once he gets the idea that you're not going to play back.3 points

Yep, The FEDs have not had a lot of things going their way in the courts here recently and this is just another case of taking a little more of their bullying away. In all honesty I think the Federal Courts are finally getting tired of having all these cases in front of them that go against the very Constitution they swore to uphold when elected............jmho3 points

I recommend finding an original 10 round mag and using stripper clips. Those aftermarket jobs can be unreliable and a real pain. Not to say that this one is, but the originals just work.3 points

Are you tired of ugly, dull edges? Or maybe you're sick of going to the gun shows with a sack full of knives to be sharpened at $5 or more dollars a piece. Maybe you just wanna be the envy of your friends with mirror polished, straight razor sharp, hair popping edges? I'm gonna show you how to take a mediocre edge to mirror polished and hair popping in just a few min. for about $20 worth of material. The first thing you need to do is run to walmart and pick up a few things. You will need: 220 grit sand paper (optional) 400 grit sand paper 600 or 800 grit sand paper Mothers aluminum polish Mouse pad Super glue Cedar clothes hangers Rubber bands My total on this was $20.73 at Walmart. You can do it cheaper if you have some or all of this stuff in the shop. So gather your materials The first step is to super glue the mouse pad to the cedar coat hanger board, material side down, rubber side up. Any good flat board of appropriate size will work. Then trim to size. Now add your 220/400 grit sand paper and secure with rubber bands. It is easier if you trim it to fit, but you don't have too. Use 220 if you are reprofiling a very bad edge, or 400 if the edge is already in decent shape. These are the edges we are starting with. The bowie is already belt sanded to 320 grit. The case is my work knife and hasn't been sharpened in 2 months Now, with a draw stroke motion, drag the knife edge across the sand paper. You will need to find what angle and pressure works for you. I use a low angle and moderate pressure for mine. I draw mine 45 strokes per side. This gives me a count so my edge stays even. You can color the edge with a sharpie to make sure you hit the whole edge when you first start to help you find your perfect angle and pressure. Added by Broomhead BTW, if you use wet/dry sand paper, add some type of oil to it, I use 3-in-1. It'll create a slurry which will, A. Keep the paper from clogging up so fast by floating the metal shavings, B. Increase the effectiveness of your work by reusing the released grit, C. Make your strokes smoother for fewer errant scratch marks before continuing on to the next higher grit, and D. Keep your blade oiled. When the oil starts to get too thick, wipe the blade and add a little more oil. If the paper seems to stop cutting, replace it and add more oil. I doubt you'll need to do either for a knife or two, but you might need to if you're doing a lot.

Also, gently wipe your blade with a paper towel, shop rag, etc, before moving onto the next higher grit so you won't scratch your nicely sanded blade halfway through that higher grit and have to redo your hard work. Next swap out for the 600 or 800 grit sand paper and do the same thing. A 600 will have a more aggressive bite while 800 will make a cleaner slice. Another 45 strokes and you should have a sharp workable edge. But its still not to the standards we are looking for. My phone died so I dont have pictures of this edge. Now if you are like me, you may not have an appropriate piece of leather. If you do, use that for the next step. If not, use the box your sand paper came in. Trim it to fit the mouse board and mount it with the rubber bands undied/un colored side up. Add a finger full of the mothers in streaks. Now strop with light to moderate pressure. I use 30 strokes per side. This will make a mirror polished hair popping edge. Now test out your edge and enjoy the results. I hope you have all enjoyed and learned something from this little tidbit of info. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I would love to see some comments if this has helped you out, and I'll be happy to try out and add any suggestions you might have to the write up.2 points
fiance is the root of the problem, no man falls in love just chatting.
I am going to give you and your Fiancée the benefit if the doubt. If you trust her entirely discuss with her. Really find out what "chatting with her" means. If she has been hopping online for hours daily and romantically entangling herself with this guy, you should probably call it quits. If this guy sent her a Facebook message saying "hey you are pretty" and she replied "thanks" and that was all there was to it, then maybe stick up for her and with her and do all that is necessary to protect the best of you. There are nuts out there that become severally attached for the most incredible reasons. Things such as "she looked at me in class the second I thought of her so it must be fate". That type of scary stuff. I have seen firsthand this sort of attachment and I guess I never truly understood how severe this type of thing could be. It does happen and can be very dangerous. Let us know what happens!2 points

Yeah Erik, is correct, no state income tax. Coming from KY where I paid a 5.8% state income tax @ $60k per year, I completely lost over $3100 per year and got zero back... well, normally I would have to pay $30 to file my state taxes, then it would sometimes get me between a $20-40 refund. This is on top of the state sales tax which is 6%. Higher sales tax and no state income tax is awesome here in TN because it is essentially a system of consumption taxes only. The state income tax is just money you lose, the more money you make, the more you lose. To put it in perspective, using the TN sales tax of 9.25%, I would have to buy an additional $103,000 worth of taxed stuff every year just to negate the state income tax costs from KY.2 points
-
I'm sure the fact that TN doesn't have a state income tax(except for some investments I think) has something to do with this. FL doesn't have a state income tax and our sales tax is only 6.5%. They get us with these damn toll roads though. I spend around $45/month in tolls here in Orlando.2 points

Just stopped by, thanks to Garufa for posting! Full selection of long guns on floor racks so you can actually handle them. Too many handguns to list, counter staff more than accommodating. They've got them grouped by caliber as opposed to brand which I thought was a pretty neat way to display. Plenty of handgun and long gun ammo, including .22lr I did NOT price check. Accessories somewhat limited but they just opened Thursday. Optics and quality knives also available. Range should be open 1st week of September. Was greeted by 2 different employees while I was browsing, friendly and actually thanked me for stopping in. Gun prices appeared to be competitive and they had some value priced imports. Store hours are 10-8.1 point

I have always had an extreme aversion to, and strong moral stance against cheating in any form... whether verbal, emotional, physical, online, brief, temporary, occasional, flirting, etc. So I have absolutely no respect and nothing but total disgust and revulsion for anyone that cheats. No special circumstances justify it or make it ok, or reduce the seriousness in any way, at least to me. Obviously as the person being cheated on, it is extremely painful and emotionally devastating, thus you develop strong feelings against anyone involved in the situation, yet you must first and foremost hold your significant other accountable for developing the situation or allowing it to develop to the point that it has. While I never once cheated on anyone ever, not even in a slight way, I have been cheated on several times and in each case I ended the relationship immediately, cold turkey, straight to zero. No discussion, no make-ups or do-overs, no therapy sessions. This may seem harsh, cold, or overkill, and some will preach tolerance and forgiveness, which I do believe in for other transgressions, but the sad truth is that a leopard rarely changes their spots, so making excuses for their behavior or overlooking their responsibility for the situation will only come back to haunt you in a much more painful way later. This is one of those lessons best learned early, and only once.1 point

guy who got trapped around the amazon used a bucket. Just cut himself and bled into the bucket and it was full of fish in seconds. He also got a major tapeworm from eating them. Barely survived the whole mess. I wish I could find the story... looking. Anyway, seems like an easy fish to catch... she could probably drop that meat in that bucket, drop it in on a rope and pull up 20+ of the things.1 point

If you don't realize what the VP9 offers over a Glock, then I won't be able to enlighten you. But I can help you with the cost aspect, because the VP9 is actually cheaper than a Glock. I got my VP9 for $587.50 out the door, that included the TICS fee as well. So by the time you replace the barrel, slide release, mag release, put a butt plug in it, and change the sights on a Glock, you will be out well over $587. And we haven't even got to the trigger yet. Additionally, even with all of the above modifications to a Glock, it still will not be the equal of the VP9; however it will cost more than a VP9.1 point

Here is a picture of my Marlin 25MN with a Tasco 3 x 12 x 40 on it and it's a tack driver at 50 yards and would probably be at longer distances but that is what it is sighted for at present. ....I am a huge fan of snubbies but the ever so popular Airweights are terrible to shoot. A 20oz 60/649/640 in 38spl weighs only a deglible amount more but is a dream to shoot.... The low weight of the 442 is great for carry but not fun to shoot a +P round.1 point

So about 10 months ago I did not own an AR. Had experience with them thanks to friends and family but did not own any myself. Well now I have two complete rifles built for different purposes, and have two stripped PSA lowers on the way (with plans to build one as a pistol). Rifle on the top is half of the original rifle that I built back in December. It is a PSA lower with Magpul MOE grip and stock. I have now installed an ALG ACT trigger (installed today, not in the picture) replacing the gritty PSA mil-spec. The upper is from Radical Firearms, 16" 1:7 carbine - if you have not heard of them before look them up, very competitive prices vs Palmetto and I think the upper looks better than the few PSA uppers I have seen. Haven't shot it yet but rifling is very clear and sharp. Free floated quad rail with ladders on 3 sides for comfort. AIM NiB bolt carrier group, standard charging handle with tactical latch. Have a Primary Arms micro dot with QD riser, and Radical Firearms polymer folding sights - set for lower 1/3rd co-witness. Also a Fenix light on the top. This rifle is built to be a dedicated home defense and general plinker at the range. Rifle two I just built up this past week. It is based on an Anderson lower, with Magpul MOA grip and STR stock - love this stock, very comfortable and great cheek weld. This lower has a Geissele SSA Enhanced trigger - very nice 2 stage. The upper is from JSE Surplus, and is an 18" 1:8 twist Wilson Arms stainless bull barrel with target crown, chambered in .223 Wylde. Free floated vented handguard - I needed a way to install a sling (did not want a rail mount on top of the gas block) so I used two wire key chains from Lowes - a lot cheaper than the Universal Wire Loop mount and so far is holding up well. Using the JSE BCG, and a BCM Mod 4 charging handle. Have a Vortex Crossfire 4-12x40 scope in a Primary Arms mount on top. This rifle is built to be a precision shooter, and probably be used for deer hunting as well.1 point

Isn't it sickening that our nation's capital city is one of the most restrictive in terms of our second protected right of the people? This is fantastic. If it holds, I expect to see a wave of strike-downs across the nation.1 point

Seems I'll be cooking up a big pot of crow pie for some folks... I've been saying for 3 years Palmer vs Washington DC was the gateway to removing bans on carrying firearms and turn it into a right. If (and it should be unless somebody on SCOTUS dies in the next 18 months) this ruling is upheld, it will be a watershed for 2nd Amendment rights. Clearly under this ruling - should it be upheld, TN complete prohibition against long gun carry would be unconstitutional.1 point

Massachusetts, That says alot right there. New England has had strict gun control laws for generations, even though they are in the US they still have a different mindset and culture than the south or west. It's drilled into their brains at an early age that average citizens don't have the right to keep and bear arms, it's considered more of a privige to most there that needs to be heavely regulated. The police, more so than Joe Smo from Massachusetts believe in strict regulations of firearms. Sad because Massachusetts is pretty much the HQ of where we decided to challenge and fight the British because of their strict regulations and taxes. Now Massachusetts isn't much different than the British were then, ristricting rights and taxing the crap out of everyone. Just ask the head Massachusetts democrat for the little people, multi-millionair John Kerry who has to park his million dollar yacht in Virgina because Massachusetts taxes are too high for him to park it there.1 point

"It's all about public safety" BS. It is all about public control . The police tend to see all of us as criminals. I have had a real eye opener on this. I have always had a deep respect for my local police, but had a shock the other day. While shopping, I overheard make some remarks from a high ranking LEO about blacks and other minorities (I am white) that would have been more appropriate coming from a KKK clansman. He was very vitriolic and earnest. He also let it be known that anybody who did not follow his agenda was just as bad and worthy of punishment. Too much "Us and Them" mindset floating around in law enforcement right now. With the Federal Government facilitating arming them as paramilitary formations, I no longer look at them the same as I have in my 71 year life. A Police Chief, appointed not elected, has no voice in how I exercise my Constitutional rights. I am not a Liberal, but being a Conservative does not mean I believe in a police state.1 point

I think it's wrong to arm the state and local governments with weapons that are prohibited from the citizens. Using history as a guide, protection from tyranny comes from the people, not the government.1 point

They also need to "immediatly" cancel any more American astronaunts from going to the space station, somehow get any Americans home from the space station. It's a national embarrassment that we don't have a current vehicle to go and come back from space, they could go to the Smithsonian and retrieve an old Apollo capsule from the early 70s when we had the technology to make trips to space on our own and bring them back, they seem to be reliable.1 point

It seems like it has taken forever to get to this part. I finally began painting it today even though the rail won't be here until tomorrow. Once the rail gets here it will get a good base coat and then then everything will be mocked up for the next couple of coats of paint. This is my first time to paint one. I've been a bit apprehensive about painting it but it was time to take the plunge. I will be working out of town most of the week so it will probably be next weekend before the next coats go on with an eye on completing the build the following weekend. some control and other small pieces the only really exciting part so far is realizing well after the first round of paint that I had grabbed the wrong scope to paint. That is ok because in the end the rifle that this scope is going on will be painted a camo scheme as well. Mark1 point
