It doesn't need to be this complicated. Try your best to get your gift out before Christmas. If it's a few days later closer to New Years no one is going to come looking for you. Christ.3 points

I'm not sure what this juice plan is, but if it works for you then great. Be careful though because the weight loss your experiencing is actually from a significant calorie deficit. You were possibly consuming 3-4k calories a day and most likely a high carbohydrate component. So the lack of carbs and calories are what's leading to the bad feeling. Anytime you feel bad like that it's harder and harder to stay the course. I wish you all the success and happy you have changed your mindset to be healthy. That's the hardest part. You have I decide "I'd rather lose weight than eat that". In the end there is no substitute for daily exercise and reduced calorie diet. If you count calories, don't exceed 2,000 and avoid as much carbohydrates as possible you'll generally fell better through the process and still lose weight. Then as you cross the 250 mark or your weight loss plateaus then drop your daily intake to 1800, 1700, 1600. Etc. once you reach your goal weight anywhere from 17-2000 lean calories should be sustainable. I will tell you this. I have never been overweight to the point you mention in the OP. So I can't say I understand or know what you're going through but I will offer encouragement and support in any fashion I can. If you need workout tips or meal plan help. Don't hesitate to ask. I'm not a nutritionist but I've been around the block enough to know the simple equations to make you successful. The biggest two tips I can offer 1) low carb intake, lean meats 2) low impact cardio(elliptical, stationary bike) for 30mins/day. Get a heart rate monitor and use heart rate as an effort indicator3 points

I think cops need training on the difference between the dog that is actually attacking and the dog that is barking loudly in defense of its property. The problem with many of the stories is that the cops apparently did not even give any thought to what they were doing (such as shooting an ankle-biter dog). I think the normal rules should apply--only use a gun when absolutely necessary in defense of life, know your target and what is beyond, etc. In my house, if a cop broke down the door because they had the wrong address, my 40-pound dog might approach a few steps, barking loudly, hackles raised, but would most likely not attack. Based on the situations that I have seen, that would most likely get her shot, and our main living area where she stays is the second floor over a finished basement, so I could see a shot aimed at a dog going through the floor and into the room below. My personal belief is that if the dog is latched onto your body, that is when you get to shoot it, not before, even if it is running toward you, and especially not just because it is growling or barking in the corner of the room. I see a lot of dogs that don't like me, and most are fear aggressive--they are not going to attack if you leave them alone. The few that have lunged at me could have caused a serious wound if they connected, but I doubt they could have (or would have) actually got my throat. So yes, are there times based on my system when a cop might be harmed in the interest of being absolutely sure that the dog is a threat? Yes, but I feel that risk is outweighed by the dangers created by shooting dogs that didn't need shooting. As for drug dealers who have guard dogs--I don't think the dogs should be executed just because the owner is a bad guy anymore than I think the cops should be able to set his house on fire just to get him out. Does killing the guard dogs make their job easier? Yes, but so does suspending the Constitution.2 points

Im with you. The heck with it. Christmas is way to commercial and overblown these days. If it wasn't for my wife the only Christmas stuff we would do is dinner with the family. No tree, presents, etc.2 points

Oh , thanks pal , now I may need two ...... love it ! If only we could get guns as nice as these knives for $200 and under ..... Now I see , this is sweet !2 points

Here is a Two Tone LG When I originally mentioned this to Dave, we were to pay $10.00 more for each knife done this way, then he thought about how cool it would be to do this run this way as no other Runt forum knife was made this way, he waived the price for us!2 points

Dave is telling it straight on the maple burl. Pretty stuff, but not consistent. Here's a pic of my Godfather/Godson, both maple burl. They came from two different vendors... PS, mosaic button on the Godson PSS, I'm in. Standard blade PSSS, Willis, I'm probably gonna wind up dying from this all bean diet :)2 points

Simple stuff works best. Cut out all foods which serve no other purpose than pleasure. Soft drinks, lickies and chewies, desserts. Then incorporate just a little exercise which is sustainable for you; not some P90X crap that you'll quit after a few weeks because it's too intense. Those simple things right there will show results over time. You don't want to set crash goals of dropping large amounts of weight in a short amount of time. You will fail to keep it off, or give up when you aren't seeing drastic results quick enough. Cut the garbage food out, manage your portions and do a little exercise. Do this for 6 months at least and you'll not only see results, but you'll get used to the idea of not eating large amounts of crap and drinking soda. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I'd try calling around to a few of the vendors here first and see how close they can get to the online price. Buy through them and you may not be in the position of having to find a new favorite shop again. $0.022 points

My Niece is very liberal, tiny and lives in Nashville. She can't understand why anyone would want to carry a gun into a bar, or a grocery store or a movie theater or anywhere else. The lady in the video is pro-abortion, which I disagree with, but she makes sense and she does speak liberalese. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=643M_Me6vdI1 point

Try and harm (or do harm) my "possesion" without what I feel is just cause and we'll see where it ends. I don't care what the law says. I am not trying to be a tough guy, but believe me, the last thought on my mind would be the law considering my dog a possession. I agree with DawgDoc, police need more training. Realize that I work in the Law Enforcement community and have nothing but respect for the overwhelming majority of the people that work in the community. This is a training issue no doubt. Until some of these bad cops are held accountable, I don't see it changing.1 point

Two things about your current path that I would watch for better results (I'm not necessarily offering an opinion on "juicing"). 1. As peejman mentioned, watch your sugar intake and make sure and juice with lower GI foods. Sugar will eventually wreek havoc on your weight loss goals. Juicing removes a lot of the fiber that tempers sugar uptake. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycemic_index 2. Add a protein powder/source to your "meals." You want to lose fat, not muscle. Your body will burn both if it has to... Also, this will make you feel more full. Good luck.1 point

I would never want a side charger on the left side. That would put it up against my body while slung, a mild annoyance and just begging to get stuck somewhere if I was wearing kit. I can't even say I like the aesthetics of it. It seems out of place, especially so close to the trigger. I wonder how easy it would be to push the gun forward as opposed to pulling the charging handle backwards that close in. Not a lot of space to make that happen from what I see. Could it handle that repeatedly? Now we are into durability testing issues. A broken charging handle on an AR is a cheap replacement if I'm using the standard one, is this as cost effective? And so on, and so on... It looks big enough in the picture, but I'd want to make sure it works well enough in my hands. With the traditional charging handle, I can push pull at the same time, or with the action of say, my GSG-522 (MP5 style), the action is far out enough to let me just pull it back in a smooth motion. Maybe I just let my nightmares of misfires drive me too much, but I wouldn't want a gun that I can't run the action on in a smooth motion under stress.1 point

sad, but RIP Lycurgan, Inc. Ares Armor 208 N Freeman St Oceanside, CA 92054 TO: Whom it may concern FROM: Dimitrios Karras, CEO Ares Armor DATE: November 10, 2014 Today is the marking of the birth of the Marine Corps, Veterans Day is right around the corner. Even in the midst of the swirling celebratory traditions, the world now seems empty. I opened the door to my office and stepped over the pile of mail that had accumulated from the past week. Minutes have seemed like hours, hours have seemed like an eternity. I walked in circles searching for something, anything. I have never been more acutely aware of the human condition. I have never more desired what my conscious mind knows to be impossible. Even now, as I sit behind my desk typing these words, it is difficult to fathom that this is real. You would be hard pressed to find a better man than Jastin. I can still smell the blood and oil that covered Jastin from head to foot, as he risked his own life to rescue another Marine. He was truly a terror upon his enemies. His strength seemed unparalleled. His capacity for violence during combat was matched only by his capacity for kindness during peace. To complete strangers, Jastin would show a level of benevolence and understanding that was awe inspiring. It was a regular occurrence for him to bring home a homeless person to eat with us; he would introduce them as if they were old friends. “This is my buddy Travis; I am helping him get a bus ticket to Texas.†For Jastin, the war never truly ended. The burden became too heavy. Last week he took his own life. His war is finally over. He has found the peace he so desperately wanted. Jastin was my roommate and one of my closest friends, I am thankful for the time that I got to spend with him. He was one of the founding members of Ares Armor. He is loved by many. Please keep his family in your prayers during these trying times. Sincerely, Dimitrios Karras, CEO Ares Armor1 point

I had forgotten about that. That was late 90s era IIRC? A web search or 3 finds a fair # of problems from the unsupported cases. Of course, theres a LOT of glocks out there so same % of failure is a lot more guns.1 point

This is my favorite gun, at least for now. I really like how it shoots, handles and conceals. And with the 7.62x39 caliber it is more than adequate for self defense, even out of its 7.5" barrel. This setup is not so much just for the bedroom but this is something that gets used for our bedroom, our home as well as in our vehicle when we are away from home. In the past I have also used various shotguns, various rifles and definitely some pistols but I have settled into this being the "forever" gun used in the home and away from the home. And because it is a "handgun" I can legally carry it anywhere I can legally carry my sidearm. It will not replace my sidearm but will be used in conjunction with my sidearm when I can. At home it is not stored in the bag but laying on top of the bag. My original bag was your typical small tactical bag that would look out of place in most places I would be so the search was on for a less obvious bag. Thae tactical bag also precluded the use of 30 round magazines. So after a few suggestions from friends, and urging from my wife, I decided to try the California Pak Ransom 18 inch available from Amazon. It is perfect, with a capital P, for this setup. It allows a 30 round magazine to be in the gun, which the previous bag did not, and has plenty of storage for other items I would need like a knife, flash light, first aid supplies and the few other items I feel are necessary for a bag I am using to get home or deal with immmediate threats. I can easily reach in the bag and either load or unload the weapon without actually removing the gun from the bag. Here is the inconspicuous looking bag closed. And how the inside looks with the gun, and other items, stored inside. And finally, the opened bag with the deployed "handgun" placed on top. And a picture of the gun by itself. The AK itself is nothing more than a standard Mini Draco with a 7.5" barrel. It uses standard AK muzzle devices and other than the forearm everything else is pretty much standard AK. I had originally bought a M92 PAP but decided against it because it was too long for most bags and it was HEAVY, weighing over 9 pounds loaded with a 30 round magazine. By comparison the Mini Draco weighs less than 8.5 pounds with the Sig Brace, folding mechanism and 30 roudn magazine loaded with a mix of 123 grain and 154 grain bullets. I drilled and tapped the rear of the receiver (yes it is extremely hard) for the 10-32 screws to attach the Stormwerkz hinge, the best IMHO and definitely better than ACE hinges. On the other side of the hinge I attached a pig nose adapter to allow me to use the extended buffer tube with an original Sig Brace. I swapped in a Hogue over molded pistol grip and added a 550 cord loop for a rear sling point. I replaced the standard 500 meter rear sight with an RPK style rear sight that has adjustments for wind. I did this so I can center the front sight because I believe that the front sight ears also help to get on target faster so when the front sight post is not in the center of the sings I think it can affect sight picture under stress. I replaced the factory single point trigger with a double hook trigger. The second hook was modified to turn it into an over travel stop. This significantly reduces the over travel of the factory AK trigger which is probably the single worst part of the AK platform. I also replaced the factory twisted hammer/trigger spring with a Damage Industries spring not because the factory unit is bad but because I wanted something of known quality. I replaced the factory birdcage flash hider with standard slant brake that I shortened. It looks like a thread protector but because it still has the internal bump in place it works like an unmodified slant brake but is 1/2" shorter. The forearm is from a Saiga rifle, not a shotgun, that I chopped down to fit the Mini Draco. This one is the third version. I tried it with a rail and Magpul AFG but I felt it just added weight and complexity that it does not need. I took a 10-32 screw and sharpened it, then screwed it into the hole the forearm screw goes into with the point out. I then installed the rear of the forearm then pressed the front of the forearm onto the sharpened screw. This gave me the exact place to drill the clearance hole for the 10-32 sling swivel. After sanding the front I used a Sharpie to match the rest of the forearm.1 point

We have about 100 Glock .40s in our inventory (G22, G23, and G27). The Dept typically shoots/quals 5-6 times a year (this doesn't include officers shooting on personal time). Some of them are over 15 years old. I'm the armorer for them. Not one Kaboom since they were adopted in the mid-90s. Current issue duty round is the Federal 180gr HST (Speer 180gr Gold Dot is also authorized). Practice ammo is 180gr Blazer, American Eagle, or Lawman (mostly Blazer).1 point

What I find most interesting about the .22 "thing" is how some people act when they get within spitting distance of bulk ammo at big box retail prices. Almost like heroin addicts, with no regard for anyone but themselves. Go fishing, shoot an arrow, get a pellet gun, get a shotgun or another hobby until this thing settles out. What peeves me a might is that every time I look for reloading stuff for my .22 Hornet I find, "out of stock, no back order." Good thing I have some friends who had stuff prior to the foolishness. I still haven't picked up a decent pellet rifle, which would just about put any .22LR angst I have to bed. I am spending my firearm hobby money on another non firearm hobby until the dust settles. This is what the firearm industry should be afraid of, people getting turned off and meandering off to other pursuits. Little regard for demand seems an odd way of looking out for the future of the industry. Maybe all other facets of the industry are still going full out bringing in all sorts of cash, enough to say, "the heck with .22s." Can anyone honestly suggest to someone that buying a .22 firearm at this time is a smart move? Seems to me that a pellet rifle and a 5.56, along with centerfire pistols and maybe a pistol caliber carbine make a lot more sense.1 point

I have 2 Romanian's and they both shoot very good. No FTF or FTE using surplus ammo. Also have the Chinese, Yugo and Polish. The Yugo must have a 15lb trigger pull,my gauge does not go high enough to measure it and every time somebody shoots it they think the safety is on. :pleased: I am a sucker for a relic and have been happy with my Toks. :usa:1 point
