I tried to find an emoji that represented living under a rock or waking from a coma after several years, but couldn't find one. Just kidding! But if you had to ask this, there's probably an awful lot you are missing out on besides ammo shortages. Politics, knife laws, war, terrorism, race riots, etc. I recommend reading TGO daily, and you should be back up to speed in a few weeks.8 points

When I had an FFL, I made it a practice to never sell cheap guns. I realize a lot of people can not afford to buy a quality gun but usually the people who buy these guns are the people who know the least about firearms. They buy a $150 gun and expect it to be as reliable as a Glock. Then they tell all their friends who know nothing about firearms how you are selling junk that does not work. I've found it better to stay completely away from all these headaches.7 points

I always wanted to dress up as a Furry and go to one of their conventions. It seems to me that trying new and interesting things is a thrilling way to live life. Much better than doing nothing and complaining about everything.5 points

Taking a page from Willis' playbook, I had these made for all of the FNRA Banquets here in TN. The #1 knife will be up for "donation" after the first of the year. #2 will be at the FNRA Statewide meeting here in Nashville in Feb. I love the 2 tone blade and Dave @ Protech really hooked us up with these :) 4 points

I have had a Gerber combat folder for a long time and the clip screws began to get lose and I lost one. So I quit using it. And then last week I found it setting on my self and thought I should try and get a set of screws for it to get it back in carrying mode. So I looked up Gerber website and went to the service link and they asked for my info and the problem I had. At the end of the page it said someone would be getting in touch with me. Well in the mail box Friday was a small brown package with a new clip and six screws. No one ever sent me a email or called they just took care of the problem. Thanks Gerber Andy4 points

Years ago, in an interview in Guitar Player Magazine, Brian referred to my Dad as "one of the founding fathers of rock 'n roll." I proudly showed that to him, and he just smiled and shrugged in his humble way. He always said, "I was just doing my job, not making history." I had to go look it up. It was in 1983, the September issue.4 points

My church is buying all local LEO in my town fruit baskets for Christmas. It may not be much, but we are thinking about them this Christmas. First time we have done this. Many LEO are getting a bad rap based upon recent events, we want them to know we supporting them this season. I know of other churches in Knoxville and surrounding areas doing the same this year, it appears to be coordinated, but may be just coincidental. If your local churches or civic groups are not supporting, you might want to consider supporting one or more as well, or drop hints to your church, civic groups, etc. Or simply tell a LEO thank you! BTW, thank you LEO for what you do every day! Merry Christmas!3 points

In case anyone was wondering we are still in rut. Seems most of the does have been bred but the bucks are sitting tight on the ones that haven't been bred yet. I took this picture this afternoon. Just shooting with the camera today so no, this hoss isn't going on the wall.3 points

I talked to him today and he was upset with the timing but not me standing behind my sale. After talking about it he was happy about what I did and happy he has some one who stands up like this for a product on my own. So all good there. He is also ordaining us some cleaning kits to either sell with guns or to throw into a deal to make it a better sale. And we are working out a way to make sure this does not happen again. Including maybe setting up a test firing of the used guns we have just brought in so we can make sure all is working. Either way we are working it out and everyone input is being put to use. Thank you3 points

Dave will make us a MUCH better deal on the TR4, so I am leaning towards that knife, maybe 2016 for a Fixed blade, The TR4 are great, they actually have a safety switch on them and include a glass breaker, If you guys will be onboard for this knife this summer, I will make it happen3 points
-
Or would you guys prefer a Large Auto on this run instead of fixed blade? a TR4 would be much cheaper and they are great knives, just throwing ideas out here, this next run wont be happening until Summer, I will start collecting for it it in May3 points

I lived in that world for a number of years. TQM, 6 Sigma, Poka Yoke, Kaizan, VOC, T-tests, ad nasuem.... Those are a bunch of wonderful concepts that, when applied intelligently, can significantly improve a wide variety of processes. Or what I like to call, the stuff any process engineer worth his salt had been doing long before the bosses paid the consultants an obsene amount of money to give it a fancy name. I escaped for a while but unfortunately it's begun to invade my current world. So far, the results have bordered on laughable. If there are people involved, there will be mistakes. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something. Make something idiot-proof, they'll make a better idiot.3 points

Moving safes is 80% tools and techniques, 20% muscle. I've moved many many safes, including a few 500 lb. and one 800 lb. safes, all by myself, over a hundred miles, including steps and bends. With the right knowledge and gear you can do quite a bit safely and easily. Just ask the Egyptians who built the pyramids...3 points

The Box Under Bill & Hillary's Bed When Bill and Hillary first got married Bill said, "I am putting a box under the bed. You must promise never to look in it." In all their 30 years of marriage, Hillary never looked. On the afternoon of their 30th anniversary, curiosity got the best of her and she lifted the lid and peeked inside. In the box were 3 empty beer cans and $8,874.25 in cash. She closed the box and put it back under the bed. Now that she knew what was in the box, she was doubly curious as to why there even was such a box with such contents. That evening, they were out for a special anniversary dinner. After dinner, Hillary could no longer contain her curiosity and she confessed, saying, "I am so sorry, Bill. For all these years, I kept my promise and never looked into the box under our bed. However, today the temptation was too much and I gave in. But now I need to know, why do you keep the 3 beer cans in the box?" Bill thought for a while and said, "I guess after all these years you deserve to know the truth. Whenever I was unfaithful to you, I put an empty beer can in the box under the bed to remind myself not to do it again." Hillary was shocked, but said, "Hmmm, Jennifer, Paula and Monica. I am very disappointed and saddened by your behavior. However, since you are addicted to sex I guess it does happen and I guess 3 times is not that bad considering your problem." Bill thanked her for being so understanding. They hugged and made their peace. A little while later Hillary asked Bill, "So why do you have all that money in the box?" Bill answered: "Well, whenever the box filled up with empty cans, I took them to the recycling center and redeemed them for cash."2 points

A lot of folks treat Gerbers like they are third world knives but I have a few...some 25 years old that have been used and abused that have held up remarkably well. Their customer service is among the best of any company in any industry.2 points

If your boss is buying new inexpensive guns from manufacturers/distributors for those who are on a limited budget, I would tell him to think about ditching the Cobra for Hi-Points. If I was on that kind of budget, I'd probably buy a Hi-Point before anything else offered in that price range.2 points

tell them about the issue and offer to clean it once for them for free? Many manufacturers send it not with lube but packing / protective grease which is not really good for function but great for storage. It could be that sort of thing?2 points

Great thread. I'm just as happy to hear about your dedication to your customers as I am to hear about your boss listening to you and entertaining the idea of making some changes based on your input. In the days of corporate-everything, that seems an antiquated idea... listening, that is. Good work!1 point

Not going to single out a particular person or event here in this posting. But I am continually amazed at the TGO membership. The outpouring of sympathy, prayers and offers of aid in times of sorrow and need is sometimes beyond my abilities to fathom. In the times of "me" and all the attempts to secularize the world and all its people; I can come here and see and be reminded that we are not alone. I have seen evidence here of the values that the world at large seems lacking in. I have seen people offer time and money to others repeatedly, with no expectation of recompense. Just being able to help those who need some type of assistance. Any request is almost instantly responded to and generally fulfilled; be it life threatening circumstances, a request for aid in a project, or for prayers and support in a time of crisis. We have each other in all times and circumstances. This truly is a welcoming and caring community of brothers and sisters. When I first became involved here...I really could have used some of the support I so freely given here. But I was reluctant to involve strangers in my troubles...so I just went along without commenting. My mistake and loss. Some of the friends I've since made here would have been of great comfort then. Just having a voice not so closely involved would have been great. But I didn't. But I'm here, I came thru it all. lol I guess that's evident. Thru the prayers and support of my wife and my mother and family, co-workers, doctors and care givers, and of course, the Power of Our Lord; I survived. I really didn't expect to do so. I am still amazed at it. I still wonder why. Daily. Maybe to give my pitiful tale in offering to give someone else hope. Maybe I'll help a person and influence their life a good and constructive way. In any event, the additional support I could have gotten here would have been more than welcome. I guess what I'm trying to say is a great big "Thank You" to all here for the generosity of spirit that I see exhibited on an almost daily basis is nothing short of amazing. God Bless to all, and a Merry Christmas!1 point

Are these people weird? I'd say so but a lot of people probably think that the kind of people that frequent gun forums are weird too. Doesn't mean that any of us deserved to get attacked. I'm not into the furry thing but if someone else wants to be then more power to them, I don't see how that affects me in the least.1 point

25 bucks? I don't think this ammo has been priced that low for over 10 years, so that is not realistic. Prior to the current crisis, I believe this was probably selling at around $40-45. Even so, I think $.05 per round is probably close to the new normal price for this ammo, so I was happy to get a bucket. This is the first of the "cheaper" stuff that I've been able to find in two years. I was able to get a few boxes of some CCI ammo recently at reasonable prices and that was the first I had been able to buy since November 2012. So, maybe supply will finally start to catch up with demand in 2015. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
