I'm don't subscribe to a deity, but I did spend some time in a church as a kid without it catching on fire, so I learned a little. I can't help but compare people in dire straits who haven't gotten the vaccine to that story of a man on a rooftop during a flood who had a weather report, a rowboat, and a helicopter that could have given him safety at different times, but he sent them all away because he felt God would protect him. Then after he died in the flood, he asked God what happened, only to learn God had sent the report, the rowboat, and the helicopter. I hope all of them come out okay, and I hope anyone still hesitant considers what we're seeing.2 points

Greg those are the "fun" times of driving cars and trucks that don't have a monthly payment on them. I would rather put a few hundred dollars into some repairs every now and then than pay $750 up for a monthly note. I own debt free 4 vehicles that cost me total $7,500. Now I have spent $9,000 or so in repairs over the course of 8 years,so that figures purchase price plus repairs to a little over $500 per year per vehicle. I am on the lookout for a pre computer truck or car, I know how to file points!!!2 points

I hope everyone here realizes that you know enough to see how little politicians understand firearms. I further hope you realize they have the same amount of knowledge or economics, healthcare, safety, environment, foreign policy, etc. It's really scary when you stop and think about it.2 points

No need to be half-assed. If Biden's proposal is enacted, shooting people with a 9mm would be double-illegal, so people will be twice as likely to not shoot each other ...1 point

Again, I'm fully supportive of your right to not vaccinate, but the immune response from the vaccine is much stronger than antibodies from contracting coronavirus. And the research is still weak on how long they last from exposure. I'd get a shot if its been 6months or more since you were sick.1 point

I don't really need a breach. But if the brake reduces muzzle rise and recoil, it'll be worth it.1 point

I have them in 4 cars. Not sure the brand. There is a local guy that installs them for me. I always get the ones with 2 cameras front and back. I have them in my daughters car as well and can track her if need be with it. I had a Lexus LS 460 one week and a guy side swiped me on a little curvy road close to home. I saw it coming as was almost stopped and in the ditch trying to avoid him. He was clearly way on my side of the road. He was very sorry when we talked while waiting for LE to arrive. Funny he was not sure he had crossed the center line when talking to LE. Fortunately the officer could tell what really happened and placed the blame on the guilty party. I had the car for one week and had to gotten the cams put in yet so it was my word and the experience of the officer that had me covered. Love the dash cams.1 point

Or as close as we may be allowed to get. If you've seen my old thread "Well I did something today I said I wouldn't" or something like that, you'll know I was, have been, and still am...a person who contends this is all a ploy by our Overlords. Yes, I know there is a virus. One would have to be a fool to contend otherwise. Is it the End...as some are touting? Or just a tool that was let out to start the NWO? Can't say definitively, but I think my position is as good as most on it. I have now joined the growing list of those who have lost family and friends from this. Far too many over the last 3 months to not affect my past perspective and future commentary. Reaction to the Covid-19 from my family, friends, ex coworkers and even those of us here...has been varied, to say the least. From acceptance to hysteria and to total denial. I've been the black sheep/total waste/whack-job of my family all my life, and generally regarded as a lost cause. So if I give you pause to think with some of my wild-assed opinions and comments, I've done my part to open a few eyes I hope. Now a little less morbid comment. We seem to have reached a middle ground now. Most agree that it is real, no matter its source and origin or purpose. But we are searching deeper into its birth. That may yield a few surprises yet. People have died from it. Fact. Politicians, World Leaders, The CDC, and the UN have made use of this pandemic to further a mad power grab. So far it seems to be working quite well for them all. Whether we as individuals, as a nation, or as a world...will survive and return to "normal" is still to be seen. Removal of the current leadership is a must to achieve it. For my money, it's a poor chance in front of us. Yes, I am a borderline pessimist. And getting worse by the day. But I believe everything I have written here. Whether you agree with a little, a lot, or just think I'm a fat old fool. It's your choice. Just like the vaccinations...it's all up to you. Now as to "Uncle Phil" Valentine, for many and varied reasons; I hope and pray he recovers from this. Because I like him, and will be looking forward to hearing his observations and opinions now. Ok...done. Yeah, I'm a long-winded sort. Even when typing. If you read all this, I thank you. Agree or not. Just my own opinions.1 point

I never had an ounce of trouble out of it or my P90 in .45 for that matter. They weren’t pretty guns but were built like tanks. I didn’t even know what “finicky with ammo” meant back in them days.1 point

If I were still young and had a mortgage I might consider it less of a problem. I could pay back borrowed money with money that is now worth less than it was when I borrowed it. Unfortunately I am now 70 and living off my savings which are becoming worth less each day. The bank is paying me 1/2 of one percent interest and inflation is going to eat away 10 percent of my savings each year. I am a bit concerned.1 point

That is absolutely normal. No test rides without cash in hand. I have never test ridden a bike unless it was a dealer. The stories of people wrecking bikes on test rides and then leaving the owner (or owners insurance) high and dry on the repairs are far to common. I have never allowed anyone to ride any of my bikes without cash in hand. I will let them sit on it, I will start it, I will run it up and down the road in front of them but unless they have handed me a wad of cash they are not going to ride it out of my garage. If they ride it and find some issue or wish to back out of the deal for whatever reason I will negotiate or simply hand them their money back.1 point

I know it's a hard pill for folks to swallow, but there's not a single one of us who is going to make it out of here alive. We've all got a date with the Grim Reaper. It sucks that for some folks he comes as a virus, but there are a million other ways people die every day too and a lot of them have better forms of prevention than what we have for COVID-19. A person should seriously just listen to their doctor, analyze the risks, factor in their own risk profile, and make their own decision. I really hope the bleeding hearts don't hassle me the next time I have a cheeseburger or a glass of bourbon, or inhale some gun smoke. None of those things are good for you either, but I'm taking my chances. "Every man dies, but not every man really lives."1 point

During my foray into aircraft maintenance, i learned quickly that whatever the problem, determine the most expensive part, especially if it's also the hardest to get to, and replace that first. Works every time ...1 point

My buddy and I would take pvc and cap one end. We would get on opposite side of the street in the ditch and shoot bottle rockets at each other. It was a lot of fun. You can have a lot of fun when you are not thinking about the consequences.1 point

Twice. Once when I was a young teenager, out squirrel hunting with a childhood buddy. He had a negligent discharge as we were walking and we both looked around to see where it went in the ground, as he was carrying muzzle-down. We then realized he'd shot me right above the ankle with his .22LR. The next time I was in my early 20's. My brother had a negligent discharge in my parents house on New Years Eve. The 22LR round hit a wall and ricocheted, striking me in the eyebrow above my right eye. The projectile glanced down, went through the top (white) of the eye and stopped in the optic nerve. I lost sight in my right eye because of that one. When people notice that I shoot handguns right handed and rifles left handed, this is the "Why?" behind it. Despite these occurrences, I still love guns and love shooting. What I don't love is shooting with other people - if I am not familiar with them or their gun-handling abilities. It takes gigantic leaps of faith, huge doses of fatalism and a desire for something significant for me to attend any sort firearms training classes. I generally pick out people have their #### together, and partner up with or shoot near them.1 point

From what I read you have the 1911 and could trade for the SA .357? Keep the 1911, feed it heavy loads and go. SA revolvers are great for hunting and very fine handguns. I would not choose an SA revolver for defensive use. The .45 is all you need for small black bears. use solid bullets not hollow points, save the HPs for two legged predators. If it were a DA .357 then it would be whichever you prefer.1 point

If you are good with the 1911, I'd stick with that. You're not looking for trouble, so the .45 should work well on most types of trouble that find you. For me, a .45 carries more easily than a single action revolver. Plus, a pair of extra mags takes up very little room and gives you more options if you run into more trouble than one mag can handle.1 point

I would go with the GI 1911. More rounds and a heck of a lot easier to reload if you have to.1 point

I'd be more concerned about 2 legged predators than those. And I'd definitely want a double action, not a single action.1 point
