  3. I bought one first because it was cheaper than any other 22 plinker I could find. After couple mags...I was very impressed and happy with it! Now after a couple K rounds. I love it! Always in my range bag with 6 loaded mags and a Federal value pack. Great pistol! Looking for a steal/deal on another one!

  4. It’s bad form to question someone’s asking price in the thread. Those comments are best left to an IM.

  5. Eh, I didn't see anyone get mad. We just obviously think you're wrong in this context. No offense meant of course, but you made a post to ask so... collectively, we answered. One extra cool thing about this place: If someone WAS trying to sell you used as NIB... you can report that. The community does its best to weed out dishonest folks.

  6. Taurus contacted me today and advised that I just go onto their online candy store and pick my treat. They'll send it to my FFL when the money comes in. That's the way it oughta be--let's see if it goes a smoothly as they describe.

  7. I just saw that SilencerShop posted a video on this. They mention that, "the ATF has confirmed this is the new norm". Well, until there is a new norm... as we all know from experience. Let's hope this is correct but, hope for the best and expect bureaucracy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNTnjDL1uXM

  8. If anybody happens to be waiting on a stamp and filed it through e-forms, you should probably login and check. There were a lot of folks that weren’t notified that their stamps came through. Buddy of mine had a stamp approved in three weeks, but didn’t find out for three months.

  9. In truth, it was less heinous than I expected. The treatment they gave Matt Shoaf was actually remarkable in my eye. The interview I gave was over an hour and a half, they used less than a minute. I have to give Van props for at least fact checking me on the Bath School Massacre and putting the newspaper page up to verify the truth of what I said. Had I been able to pick a segment they should have aired, it would have been his question about "Safe Storage". His supposition was that if one is getting gas at Sam's, and a criminal opens the vehicle door while you are at the pump and shoots a baby in it's carriage and a cop in the head, shouldn't the gun owner be liable for the crime? My answer was no, as my vehicle is understood by Tennessee statutory law to be my "castle" and an act of breaking and entering said castle to take my property to commit a crime was antithetical to the rule of law, but offered him a similar scenario. Suppose while pumping gas a thief opens the door of your vehicle and snatches a baby out the car seat and runs over to an overpass on I-40 and tosses the baby over the rail and it smashes the windshield of a semi passing underneath, causing an accident that kills numerous people, should the car owner be charged with those deaths? He did not have an answer and that segment of course did not get televised. Can't be afraid to show up though...

  11. This. A regular dentist is just as important as any other kind of doctor. As has been pointed out there is a huge correlation between dental health and overall health. My wife and I both go in every 6 months for tooth maintenance to the same dentist I used for years before we even met. X-rays are done every 18 months now if I recall correctly, used to be every other visit, regardless we keep up with the teeths and if there’s ever a problem we can get in quick or have an emergency backup if needed. Luckily, I have a decent dental insurance plan. Never had one till I had to write a check for a crown my wife needed because the cost was a wash. Paid the same amount in insurance every year as out of pocket. Then she had a root canal, and it was worth it. Long story short…regular visits, cleanings, and x-rays are really not that expensive, but major issues are Hope you tooth gets better @DeepSouth and you get to keep it.

  12. Just look at all you have to look forward to Healthy as a horse until June of '22. Routine chest x-ray showed "something to be checked". CT scan showed "something to be checked", and subsequent biopsy showed stage 3 non-small cell lung cancer of the upper right lung. Surgery to remove most of the right lung two weeks later (fun) that resulted in Radiculopthy of upper right quadrant of chest and right arm, still present. and can't breath for $hit. Challenge to keep 02 above 90 with any sort of activity. Chemotherapy that resulted in tinnitus of the left ear for life, 30 days of radiation that resulted in calcification advancement of the coronary artery to 70 %, then 12 months of immunotherapy infusions that just ended in Dec 23. Hoping that the side effects, fatigue-rashes-itching etc. of the immunotherapy wear off as i get further away from the treatments. Last CT scan I had showed "No recurrence of disease". Next CT scheduled for early April, fingers crossed. (Prayers much appreciated) Still working but I don't know for how long, I'm tired. In spite of it all, I wake up every morning and thank God for the wake up. I can relate.

  27. I have a few I've never shot, but they were all used by their prior owners. Some are old milsurp warhorses that I either don't have ammo to feed to them, I haven't taken the time to learn how to operate them, or I simply haven't been to a long enough range often enough to get them into the mix. Those I really don't mind not shooting. Their value to me is in the stories they tell. I'm definitely a collector vs. a shooter with the WW2 stuff. I do have one modern rifle (7.62x39 AK) still NIB. I got a good price from a trusted member here so I grabbed it and put it away. I have another "better" AK I shoot. I guess the NIB one is squirreled away for EOTWAWKI or if AK prices go nuts then I can turn some cash. I have a few that have had very few rounds through them. I built an AR pistol with my TGO upper and lower from the group buy a few years ago because pistols were kind of the hot thing at the time. I'm not sure I put a full 30 round mag through it. I prefer the 16.5" or longer ARs so it sits and does nothing. Same with an AK pistol. I got a Mini Draco years ago and was planning to SBR it, but never took the NFA plunge. I know I didn't get a whole 30-rd mag through it. It's kind of fun to shoot, but I'm not accurate with it so it too stays tucked away for "maybe someday I'll do something with it". My Mosins (1891/30 and an M44 carbine) are kind of like them too. I know they've had a lot of rounds sent through them by Soviet troops, but not by me. They're a hoot for a few rounds down range and to watch the huge fireballs from the M44 but then that's enough. I keep them "just because".

  28. I don’t think anyone is upset. We’re just trying to answer your question. Collectors of anything are an odd lot. I guess they see it as a form of investment. I’m glad they exist. They do the world a favor in preserving pieces of history.

  34. Bump. $3000 for the one with the mag coupler and soft tactical case. $3500 for the one with the grey hard case and Trijicon MRO. Both will come with two 30-round mags fully-loaded with 55gr brass-cased FMJ. Buy both for $6000 and get the extra 2 mags, ammo and Trijicon MRO for free. I check GB periodically and these have not decreased in price. You can save yourself tax, FFL fees, and S/H by going through me. I can do a bill of sale, if you prefer, and I can probably dig up my receipts from when I had these transferred in. I have only taken them to the range twice for function testing (they performed flawlessly) and have owned them for 3-4 years. I always had dreams of mounting these to a motorcycle for the apocalypse but in reality we all know that's not going to happen so I'd rather them find a new home, as I'm no longer in my "collecting phase". I have my handful of guns that I have zeroed in on for regular use and the rest should go to someone who will appreciate and use them, as opposed to someone like me who loves them but never gets to the range anymore to have fun (as well as someone who is trying to downsize and raise some capital to afford a down payment on a home at some point). God bless, J

  39. Pretty close. Also, if you all remember how crazy inventory and prices started getting out of hand some years back. I started the practice for redundancy and spare parts if things had gotten as bad as some had predicted. I was always the contrary optimist about that situation, but I wasn’t crazy enough to not be prepared. It just became a bad habit. My wife loves to travel, so guns are the most affordable things I can purchase for myself.

  40. His buying in pairs is OCD. I have it as well. I bought 2 new Ruger Mini 14;s, 2 new Ruger Mini 30;s, 2 new CZ Redhead Premier O/U shotguns, 2 new Stoeger Coach Guns, 2 new Rock River AR's, 2 new PSA AR;s and 2 new PSA AK-47;s. Who would have ever guessed I would have something in common with Links.
