What has six boobs and 4 teeth….night shift at Waffle House. :hiding:7 points

My dad taught me from a young age that life is hard enough by itself, but if I make bad decisions, I will make it exponentially harder for myself. So I have tried to live my life on the straight and narrow and can say that because of my good decision making, (not always easy or popular), I live an excellent life. I have the worlds best wife. We dated 5 1/2 years before we got married. We were both virgins up until our wedding...but definitely not afterwords. ;-) She doesn't emasculate me and she lets me be a man as well as appreciates that I am a man. She encourages me in where I am weak, and lifts me up where I am strong. She is a hard worker and when I lost my job a few years ago, she was a source of comfort and calmness in a very stressful situation. The other day we got into an argument that was clearly her fault...she couldn't see it at the time, but the next day she apologized to me, asked for forgiveness and said she will do better next time. I look forward to coming home after work. We have no jealousy towards each other...well except she is much better looking that I am but I digress. I could go out to dinner with any of her girlfriends and she wouldn't think anything of it. And on the other side, I would trust her with any of my guy friends. She loves God, loves others and loves herself. She is very much my best friend and I am always looking forward to growing old with her. Now contrast that to the one you are choosing to be with. But in her *slight* defense, how can she respect you as a man, if you aren't acting like one? Its time to start making some manly decisions. Don't be a victim. Time to go get a real job and move out. You won't like your job...welcome to manhood. When Adam sinned in the Garden, our curse was to have to work to provide for ourselves. You will never find work more enjoyable than playing video games at your grandparents house living rent free. But put your hours in, work harder than anyone else around you, maintain a positive attitude and that will get noticed. With some experience, you will either move up in the company, or you have made yourself marketable to find a more enjoyable and better paying job. I am 28 years old and I approve of this message. :up:7 points

Got my rifle in today. Fit and finish is more than I expected. Rifle finish was pretty much flawless. There were some minor marks from handling here and there, but no scratches, gouging, or sharp edges. The bolt carrier is very smooth and lacks the tooling marks you see on a lot of the Romanians. Front sight post is centered, not notoriously canted as some rifles are known for. Muzzle break does have a little wobble as I have read, but could be remedied with a washer of some sort (will probably replace with a 74 style brake). Reviews I have read seem to attribute the wobble directly to the brake itself, and that replacing with a different brake immediately alleviates the issue. I took some photos with my smart phone to show some of what I am describing. I also installed the key mod hand guard up front...hoping for an Aimpoint H1 for Christmas. Really excited about shooting this...3 points

Yeah, Mike. I was thinking the same thing. A better way to phrase that would be "pancakes are deffective waffles without syrup traps."3 points

You guys give me hope for the future of our country. Everything I have I owe to Jesus, and my wife. A good wife will pat you on the back when it's deserved, and put a foot to your hind end when it's appropriate as well. Oh yeah.....28 is a LOOOOOOOOONG way back in my rear view mirror!3 points

But if you take the 5 and the 9 and subtract a one from each you get 48. What is the square root of 4? 2! You get a 2 and an 8, or 28!3 points

My temper gets the best of me at times. I can control it most of the time, but last time I got egged was a year or so ago. Same situation, I was going one way, they were headed the opposite way the first two eggs hit the windshield, the third made it through the window and hit me in the chest hard enough to leave a bad bruise. I called the law and flipped a u- turn. When the cops arrived the driver was sitting on the sidewalk crying and begging me not to destroy his car with the 6 lb hammer I had in my hand, the passenger was to drunk to worry about what I was doing. It was an intresting night. I'm not much on "boys will be boys" and innocent pranks. Once you get into the 16 and over range, you might find an ass whopping as the result of that stupid prank. And I was driving my old Dodge Dakota with enough hail damage to look like I pissed off an ex wife. It isnt about how nice or crappy my stuff is. It is my stuff that I paid hard earned money for, and it is my health you're threating by throwing a hard object at a high rate of speed. I would have gotten my ass whipped by my old man for doing something like that. Then again, I grew up working on a farm, and when I had a vehicle to drive, it was because I paid for it. If those kids had to work they would be to tired to get into trouble like that. I know I was, nobody throws hay all day or works out a garden all day, etc then stays out all night causing trouble3 points

Finally got around to uploading these videos which I said I would do in another thread. Sorry it took so long. Still waiting on a demo day for anyone that wants to try some cans. We have a local Hendersonville resident that offered to let us shoot on his land who also has a couple cans. http://youtu.be/Ls5yoxd20Gw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGAjMZZwcUc&feature=youtu.be2 points

I recently bought a M85 AK pistol in 223. It has some pretty awful sights because the rear sight is too thin. A friend mentioned trying a V notch and I did but that only made the problem worse because now the light coming in from the sides is inconsistent and it made it very hard to get the same sight picture. It also had a couple of white dots as well as a white number 2 that was very distracting. I did blacken the rear sight and it did help out immensely but the V still wasn't very easy to use compared to the 400 meter notch. I was able to shoot some nice groups yesterday at 27 yards, 25 meters, using the Tula I have. I had several groups where the rounds were touching using the long range notch, which is till a bit narrow, but with the V notch I was lucking to get 1". I figured the rear sight was junk so I spent all day yesterday looking for sights for it and could not find anything, either factory or original Krinkov or aftermarket, that was reasonably priced or that would even work. I got to thinking I could probably make a decent peep sight that will work. I took a 4-40 allen head bolt and I drilled through the recess for the wrench for the aperture. After that I took a chainsaw file, that was the same diameter as the head of the allen bolt, and opened up the V notch so the allen head would drop in. Then I used some 5 minute epoxy to put it all together and I must say it looks great. I used a .070" diameter drill bit for the opening. I originally used a .090" but it was too large, .070" seems about perfect. I am going to run it as it is and if the epoxy fails I will just have it silver soldered in place for a more permanent fix. Another problem I had was the front sight needed to be moved too far to the left for my liking. I know it is an AK but not having the sights somewhat centered really bothers me. I got to looking and noticed the rear sight has a spring loaded detent to keep the sight from flopping between 2 and 4. And that spring loaded detent pushes the rear sight to the left, not a lot but enough that the front sight needs to be at the far left of its adjustment. It was pushing the rear sight over to the left so much that the front sight needed to be moved more than I like. I had to drill the detent hole all the way through and tap it for a set screw to capture the detent spring from the opposite side. By moving the detent from the right side to the left the rear sight will be pushed to the right by the spring, rather than to the left like originally, and hopefully it will be enough to bring the front sight more to the center.2 points

I first wanted and carried a DA/SA gun, well besides the little DAO 380 pocket gun I carried as well. When I got serious about practicing and training I quickly found and decided I wanted the same trigger pull every time. Went striker fired and never went back. But I do think shooting a SA handgun is about as sweet as it gets, and that includes a SA/DA.2 points
I think weed is only active in urine for up to a month. I don't smoke anymore, but I'm thin and athletic, and drink tons of water. I can pass one in a week. I have long hair now though. Not sure I agree with a drug test for a job. If someone wants to smoke on their day off, not the companies business. All the smokers I know are responsible and don't smoke on the job.
THC can stay in your fat cells for quite a while, especially for overweight people who smoke a lot. That said, a company can and should be allowed to hire or not based on a person's recreational use of drugs. It's their company. Folks who take issue with that don't have to work there. The onus isn't on a private business to be accommodating to the employee. The employee can look elsewhere for work just like the employer can look elsewhere for workers.2 points
Yeah, makes me wonder how jobs deal in states where weed is legal.
Works the same way. Companies can dictate what drugs (legal or not) that they don't want. If I'm not mistaken VW doesn't hire tobacco smokers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD2 points

I was told if you fail the drug test it may be because of a prescription you are on. Dosent mean you are out of a job. If whatever you are taking has approval by your doctor it shouldn't matter. That saying, I don't do drugs, rarely drink alcohol and don't smoke anything. So I should be in the clear.2 points

Unlike Slappy, I had to learn how not to live first. It was fun at first, then dues had to be paid ... lowest point of my life. Divorced out of a toxic relationship and lost pretty much everything I had. At that point, only one way to go and that is up. The Lord touched me and let me know I was not numbah one on his poop list. Quit drinking, prayed for a good woman, got one and things started to roll. Been one heck of a ride, rough times, good times and everything fell into place. A good woman will amplify your efforts exponentially. A bad woman will drag you down so fast and hard, you'll never see it coming till it's too late. I'm very grateful we have each other.2 points

I'd say more behind the anti-OC/gun activists. He pledged to spend $50 million this year on anti-gun campaigns, and the media is loving it. That's the only reason we're hearing about people OCing in Texas 8 months ago, or even this book, which has been out for several years.1 point

It was hard to find the right holster for it. It does have a little better penatration than the 9mm and a little more stopping power than the .45.1 point

Growing up, I wasn't exactly the best behaved young lad. I'm living proof that kids do stupid things. During the summer, when people would drive with the window down, I would hide behind a mailbox at the end of our street ready to ambush people with a super-soaker as they hit the stop sign. One person, got pissed off enough at me to put his car in park at the stop sign, and get out. I ran and he give chase. I cut through peoples backyards and up the small hill in the middle of our block to hide in the wood line, climbing fences as fast as only a preteen can to get away. I was done with my super-soaker ambushes after that. In what world would that be a proportionate response? I can't think of a more useful event for anti-gun types to propagandize than what you lay out above. We just got vehicle carry approved without a permit, let's not cock it up the first year in. This would be the headline if that happened; Gun-Owner Shoots Kids In Response to a Prank No good would come from it.1 point

Pranks can definitely turn serious in an instant, going from a harmless egg or snowball toss to a car crash or an ER visit in no time. I wouldn't endorse or tolerate dangerous pranks, but when it comes to tossing eggs (or rocks or snowballs etc.) I think most of us did that as kids too, and in the vast majority of cases it never comes to any serious harm except a frustrating cleanup job. Now if you were both traveling 35 mph in opposite directions and they whipped that egg at you with all their might, and it hit your car at the equivalent of 70-80 mph, then I would very much consider that to be beyond the realm of safety as an impact like that would at the least completely trash your car body and could very well have killed you. But since you said the only damage was a few eggshell pieces and goo stuck to the car, I assumed that slow speeds and a relatively light toss were involved, thus I would have classified this as a pretty harmless prank overall. When we were young we generally threw rotten crab apples, tomatoes, or snowballs at cars, and only from a stationary hiding point that was pretty far away from the road, so the actual speed of the projectile was greatly diminished if/when it even hit the car. We saved eggs for cracking on parked cars once a year on Devil's Night (before Halloween), but I stopped doing that when a friend told me that dried egg can sometimes remove the paint from cars, as I never intended to do any actual damage or cost anybody money. So I am not making light of your experience, just encouraging everyone that would be in favor or shooting or lynching the kids to stop and remember that we were all young once, and nearly all of us were on the other side of this story at least a few times.1 point

I like ta-tas as much as any guy, but BC research is *extremely well funded* --- they get promos on all kinds of products as well as tons of other donation sources. There are other diseases out there that are, in comparison, hurting for research dollars. Spread the love around a bit; I support BC research and buy a few of the pink targets where I shoot, but I gotta encourage people to throw a few crumbs to the other stuff as well.1 point

Swings and roundabouts. Having been a renter before, I couldn't do that long term. I actually am not fond of yard work but if it were that much of an issue, I could hire someone to do it for not too much coin (though I think prices are generally high for what is basically walking around a yard). The hobbies I like to do tend to involve owning stuff too. You can't fit a table saw or an engine hoist in a backpack.1 point

Maybe your fiancée is complicit and maybe not; that is something that obviously needs to be considered and acted on if necessary. That said, my gut tells me she is the cause of the problem and I'd consider finding this out while she is your fiancée to be a blessing in that at least you aren't married to her yet. Moving on, whether she is or isn’t complicit, I would suggest that you absolutely cannot assume that this guy won’t follow through on his threat. In my opinion, anyone who is willing to make such threats is mentally off kilter enough to act on the threats even if your fiancée dumps you or you her and he knows it...you have to take him seriously and prepare. As others have said above, report this guy to police, both your local agency and the agency closest to where he lives (assuming you can nail that down). Keep detailed records and gather evidence. That may all be a waste of time but if this guy every tries to make good on his threats such evidence/records will be worth its weight in gold.1 point
