  1. The CIA had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were done, there were three finalists: two men and a woman.   For the final test, the CIA agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Kill her." The man said, "You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife". The agent said, "Then you are not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home".   The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about five minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, "I tried, but I can't kill my wife”. The agent said, "You don't have what it takes, so take your wife and go home."   Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, and banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman, wiping sweat from her brow as she leaned back against the wall. "The gun was loaded with blanks," she said between breaths. "I had to kill him with the chair!!!"

  2. Probably NOT the answer you want, but I load my 9mm with whatever SD ammo is available at a good price after I've cycled through whatever I bought the last time I found some on sale. I probably wouldn't go for full on frangible rounds, but pretty much any quality SD ammo will get the nod if its a few buck cheaper than normal. I do advocate buying enough at a go to run them through your pistol for a few mags to see how they feed and all, but that's one area where your smaller capacity comes in handy. It's a lot cheaper to run 3 mags through your 938 than it is to run 2 out of my M&P :D

  6. I have the Lee scale, and Ohaus Beam scale, and one of the Frankford arsenal scales. All three are accurate enough for most reloading chores. I find myself using the Frankford Arsenal digital scale the most, because it's easy to set up and fast to use. Although cheaply made, the Lee scale is quite accurate and fairly easy to use. Sometimes I like to check one against the other just for my own piece of mind. That's where the balance beam scale comes in handy.   You can put the Frankford Arsenal scale in your shirt pocket and take it somewhere with you. It weighs in grains, grams, and ounces. You can use it for more than just reloading.

  8. For those of you that never had a pumped out septic tank ... think about this. Solids settle on the bottom. Solids do not dissolve. Solids come from indigestible food and leavings that rot but don't dissolve. Solids come from sand and dirt, floor washing and laundry. Solids come from lint, plastics and whatever else that goes down the drain. Solids also come from "wet-strength" paper that is formulated in some toilet papers, paper towels and especially sanitary napkins. So now the bottom of the tank starts filling up ... less and less water with microbes doing the decomposition work. Eventually, the tank fills and solids start tricking into your leach field. Your leach field clogs up with silt. You now are looking at a $15-30k bill to build another leach field IF YOU HAVE ROOM ON YOUR PROPERTY TO DO SO! So unless someone invents a solution that turns solids to liquids in an environmentally safe fashion, pump that crap out from the bottom of your tank at least every five years. The more liquid in your tank, the more bacteria will separate solid from liquid keeping a 'happy' functional septic system. Those that want to continue believing in magic .... carry on.

  9. I will give this vet a pass, I dont know that I could of done much better in his situation. When you have friends die in combat, and you have this POS and many like him take their accolades for a measly 10% off their purchases and other monetary gains just pisses me off. While I was in uniform, and still, I would have people say "Thank you for your Service" and on a few occasions buy me my lunch before I could protest. I am always polite about it and acknowledge their thanks. But deep inside I kind of feel like poop, because I am home and many of my friends are not. And yes, I still shed a tear at Taps. These guys deserve much worse treatment!

  14. Are there any stray dogs in the area ? That would be my topic starter for the neighbor if so. As in "hey guys, have you been seeing any odd bones turn up in your yard " ? Or "Hey guys, has anything been digging in your trash " ? It might take some doing but I would find a way to get them bones into the conversation.

  15. By far the most intense and well acted scene in movie history, can't even think of anything that comes close   https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=aCW9NsrV6VM   If you seen the movie here is how there where 3 bullets in the gun when it was his turn   Before the VC hauled them into the room Mike told Nicky that after a couple of rounds he would tell the VC to put more rounds in the gun so they could escape.

  20. Are they always in the same general vicinity in your yard?  How big of yard are we talking?  Is it obvious which neighbor it is?   If it was me and the answers to those questions are yes, I would probably put up a trail camera in the area if possible and try to catch them in the act.  Then go have a talk with them.     It wouldn't surprise me if they think they are giving the dog "treats".  Some people are clueless when it comes to the danger of bones and dogs.

  21. I've never seen or read about anything like that. The video sucks too bad to see any detail in the fuild, but it's consistency is unusually thick. It does appear that it might have "pus" in it, but can't tell from the video. I will say that no doctor would render a diagnosis from that video unless they happened to recognize the consistency of the discharge and look of the infected area.

  23. Stories I've read/heard this morning say the bus that crossed the median was swerving to avoid a car that pulled out in front of, or cut-off, the bus.  A terrible coincience that it clipped the full bus coming the other way.

  25. Amazing as it sounds OS, reports out this morning shows the east bound bus (44) crossed the median and struck the westbound bus (57). I travel that road daily and where they collided is the only part for miles where there's no ditch dividing the lanes. Back when they redone the bridge they paved to reroute traffic and thats where the bus came across.

  26. I carry 124 grn. +P HST in my EDC g19. I was turned on to it when I was in LE and it is what the department used. I have done some crude backyard testing and watched many videos. It is just what I like. Can't go wrong with any of the top brands though.

  27. However a screen shot of the above info would be good also. Dave you ought to see if you can contact that officer and get that to him and discuss it with him by stating you "just want to be sure you're doing it right and you don't want to be on the wrong side of the law" Discussion out of the "field" may help. He may just not be aware and my live by the mantra of not having court on the side of the road (or woods) whether he's right or wrong. All these different "requirements" is what makes people nervous about guys in green pants. Which bring up a story. One of the loggers on my lease had green pants on one day when I rolled up on my 4 wheeler a couple weeks back while they were eating lunch . And I said "dude, seriously you make me a little uneasy with them green britches on. You look like some kinda game warden or something and I ain't don't nothin' wrong but still" he just laughed and all the other guys made jokes at him.

  30. Yeah, aside from the first episode the entire season was a mess.  I feel like they killed beth off, because they had to do something shocking in the mid season finale.    On the whole, this half season was just meh....again. But meh enough to keep me coming back.

  33. I had the Lee Anniversary kit. I finally wore out the press ofter only twenty years of much use. I replaced it with a Lee Classic Cast press. I'll not wear it out! The cast press is worth the extra few bucks over the aluminum one. I understand the cast presses are made from railroad track. I like it better than my father's RCBS Rockchucker. It too is a nice press.

  34. I am not telling you to get a Lee, BUT it already has everything to trim your cases except the caliber specific rod. I put mine in the drill and trim. It's a lot cheaper this way. Carefully look over the Lee Anniversary Kit. Most of the stuff talked about here is already in it. If you decide you don't like it, I don't think you would have a hard time selling a press.

  37. I have mostly Lee products and have reloaded since the mid 80s with no issues.  I would get this one though, you can use it as a single stage by taking off the index rod or as a progressive when you feel better about the process.  I recommend this one:  https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690928/Value_Turret_Press_Kit_  As stated above the scale is a bit quirky but it does work, but eventually you will want a digital scale.  If you reload many calibers get extra turrets so you can leave the dies installed and switching calibers is a 10 second process.

  43. Brown Bess Flintlock musket with bayonet.  If they can see that .75 bore, it'll scare the pants off of them.  If they can't see that huge hole, then that .736 lead ball will make an entry wound as big as a shotgun slug.  Secondly, the smoke from that shot creates a screen that makes it impossible for them to see down the hall.  Lastly, if seeing my overweight, mostly-naked body come screaming out of that smoke behind 5 1/5 feet of bayoneted musket doesn't send them into paroxysms of terror, nothing will!  The 17" of triangular-bladed bayonet is long enough to search out intruders gibbering with fear behind interior doors and walls, but not long enough to endanger the neighbors with over-penetration.   Besides, the cops always get a thrill at the sight of me in my boxers standing over the surviving idiot prisoner while he lies face-down on the ground with my bayonet touching on his spine.

  45.   I remembered my tools this time and got my gas block set. Using the weakest ammo I had (Tula), I adjusted it to where it *just* lets enough gas through to let an empty mag hold the bolt back then added 1/8 of a turn.    So, needless to say, I put a lot more rounds through it this weekend. With the shroud off and some pissed off neighbors in the next stall, it had noticeably less recoil and it was much easier to get back on target for follow-up shots. I still like shooting it with the shroud better, especially since I don't like shooting rifles with cans on my ears. My ProEars muffs do a lot better job than the plugs, but with the shroud on it's much less of an issue.
