IF you can afford to help keep TGO up and running smoothly, please consider doing so by becoming a TGO Benefactor or Authorized Vendor. I don't have any inside information, but I'd imagine it's not exactly cheap to keep TGO up and running as smoothly as TGO David and crew does. TGO and its wise members have not only been extremely helpful to me over the last several years, they've also been a real source of entertainment. The awesome members who make up TGO have created an oasis of sorts; a place for me to escape life's realities. For so many reasons, I am truly grateful for TGO. Here are some perks of becoming a TGO Benefactor: - Authorized Vendors have been known to post special super-secret discounts and deals only available to TGO Benefactors. - Benefactors are given immediate access to the Benefactor Lounge and the TGO Trading Post (Classifieds). They may start new threads in the Trading Post forums regardless of post count or tenure, bypassing the 30-day and 50-post requirement that all other members must meet. - Benefactors are all marked with the logo (above) shown under their names in each post that they make on the forum. - Benefactors can use custom user titles in their profile. - Benefactors can store up to 100 private messages whereas regular members can only store 50. - Benefactors can manage (moderate) comments to their blog. - Benefactors can delete their own blog entries. - Benefactors can add events to the TGO calendar and they are immediately posted w/o need for a moderator to approve them. - Benefactors see a little more detail about what everyone is doing when they view the Who's Online page. - Benefactors can edit and delete (moderate) Visitor Messages left to their profile by other members. - Benefactors have 20MB of storage in our Photo Gallery whereas regular members only have 10MB. To purchase a TGO Benefactor subscription, please visit the TGO Store. 6-Month TGO Benefactor subscription: $20 1-Year TGO Benefactor subscription: $35 Lifetime Benefactor subscription (Best Deal): $150 About TGO Authorized Vendors: TGO Vendors are businesses who support this site through one of several tiers of membership. In exchange for their support, they are granted the privilege of advertising their goods and services through either promotional postings on the forum or several sizes of Banner Advertisements. A TGO Vendor account can start out for as little as the equivalent of $20 per month for a one year term. The various tiers go up from there, but a person who wants to engage in a sideline business can easily get started on TGO for less than the cost of one delivery pizza per month. I have frequently told people who are interested in becoming a Vendor that if their business plan doesn't provide for $240 a year in advertising costs, that they need to re-evaluate their business plan. Being completely honest here, that's dirt cheap advertising. It's cheaper than a box of business cards and is likely to generate a ton more business -- quickly -- for a person than any other means. Newspaper, radio, TV... all are astronomically more expensive than this. Just remember, we do protect the investment that our Vendor partners have made in this site. We do not let anyone advertise commercial interest here without being a TGO Vendor and that does apply to Benefactor members as well. If you're providing recurring goods or services to our members and trying to do this as a Benfactor, your're doing it wrong. So there you have it. If you're interested in becoming a TGO Vendor, contact TGO David and get the ball rolling.2 points

Tennessee Action Pistol is proud to announce we will begin to host GSSF matches at our indoor facility located at 526 West Main St, Gallatin Tn, 37066 GSSF Indoors is a 3 month series that awards prizes, guns, and plaques. There are lots of prizes that will be given out and one Glock Certificate for a free pistol. Certificate will be given away via random drawing at the last match. You much compete in at least 2 of the 3 matches to be in running for the gun certificate. Bring your stock and modified glocks to compete in 2 divisions. Double the chance of winning and get more rounds downrange. GSSF Indoors is a great way to bring the new Glock you got for Christmas out and break it in, or bring that new shooter that is nervous about competition. There is no drawing from a holster or movement. Just shooting various distances and some strong hand weak hand. Each match requires 50 rounds. So bring 100-150 and shoot a few rounds! +1 on the Perry suspenders. I like them because they hook onto my belt without having to sew buttons into all my pants. When I can support my belt (and the load it's carrying) my pants stay up just fine! Plus my belt feels much better when it's not pulled so tight. Got some crazy patterns too. If you can't have fun wearing these you just can't have fun.2 points

I as well enjoy reloading 40s&w over other rounds. I aim for about 850fps with 180 grain projectiles. I use once fired brass and don't even bother to pick them up because I get so much given to me. I have about 4K pieces of brass to load right now. I have so many friends in law enforcement that know me as a 40 loader I come home to buckets of brass on my porch all the time. It's still by far the number one law enforcement round in the country.2 points

tercel... I wear 'em all the time, and i use suspender buttons too... The best of the best suspenders are made by Fred Welch... Here is the link... http://www.welchsuspenders.com/ ... These are, in fact, "the best of the best" ...period... I discovered 'em 40 or so years ago when some of my buddies went and worked in the log woods of the pacific northwest... They are the standard of the log woods; and have been for years... I like the "Y" backs with the 2 inch wide elastic... Easy on your shoulders and will hold anything up... Most of mine come from David Morgan... He also sells "bachelor buttons"... They are the buttons that ya have to button the waist of your carhartts and levis... Ya can install 'em with a hammer... Nothin to it... Here they are.. http://www.davidmorgan.com/product_info.php?products_id=32 ... If ya want ta go all out with the logger dungarees, check here... Good deals on them as well... http://www.baileysonline.com/Clothing/Men-s-Clothing/Jeans/Key/Key-Industries-48011-Relaxed-Fit-Denim-Logger-Dungarees.axd I have also bought carhartt logger dungarees from sierra trading post... Buy without hesitation... I've done business with all these folks... This stuff will hold your dungarees and everything else up... leroy1 point

Well I stopped by the LGS today and got to fondle one. I put a nice firm grip down on it a few times and ended up with a hotspot on my thumb knuckle. It's not for me apparently. Steelharp was working his butt off selling things left, right, and center so I didn't get a chance to introduce myself.1 point

One year I took the kids and MIL to Sukchon DZ on Ft Campbell, to watch the Leonid meteor shower, great view with not much light out. Got to see many small ones and a couple that really lit the sky up.1 point

I was fishing one night this summer when we had a meteor shower. It was 2am and I was the only boat on the water and there was no wind at all. I turned out all the lights, sat back with a sandwich and cold drink and took in the sights for about an hour. I was on a very dark area of the river and the sky was clear. It was amazing. I saw a lot of quick flashes and one fireball that ran over half of the sky and left a trail that lasted a couple of seconds or so. After that, I loaded up and came home.1 point

All the Smiths since the mid 80's are rated for plus p ammo. I have several centennial models; I like the 642/442 about as well as any of them. I have a 342 and love the 10.8 oz weight but I hate the delicate titanium cylinder. You have to be careful about cleaning and protecting the finish. I have a 640 357 and I can't imagine being able to justify more recoil than the 24 oz 640 with magnums. I have shot a 360 with magnums and it is like slamming your hand in a car door. I think my dads 10mm American Derringer recoils less. I have a LCR and it is a fine weapon, but everyone short strokes the trigger. I wish it was chambered in something other than 38 special. I may get one in .327 also since S&W .327s bring so darn much more.1 point

I don't criticize the round, I just never liked it much. I chose 10mm. Never found a need for a slower version of the same projectile. Plus with 10, 9mm, and .45 I just don't need another caliber to stock.1 point

Wow. This. Wow. No intelligence and no soul? Wrong and wrong. My dogs dream, they know when I'm sad or scared. They protect me. Surely to God, that's a horrible joke you just stated, either that or I'm a member of the Eurotrash. In which case is rather be Eurotrash. Because Yulin is wrong. And saying animals have no intelligence or souls is wrong too.1 point

The President will huff, and puff, and not much will be done in the end. I do think that the intransigence of the gun community, along with the interest groups (NRA, GOA and the like) have brought us here. We're holding onto the fish too tight, IMO. It's been obvious that the leaders of the Democratic party have wanted background checks expanded to the point of universal. But we've "held the line" because apparently that's important. What it's also done has reduced any progress at the federal level in the last ten years to nil. We're doing great in the states where we can (CA, CT, MA & NY are too far gone right now), but that only goes so far. So, what could be done? Ask yourself how much of an impediment a background check is. I wouldn't call it an "infringement" and let's face it, neither would any court. They aren't going away anytime soon. So, why not accept it and trade it for something better. If the community and interest groups gave them the okay, Congressional Republicans could offer universal background checks & closing the "gun show loophole" for something far more valuable to the shooting community: gutting Title II of the NFA. If there was a deal on the table that exchanged universal background checks for removing SBR's and suppressors as Title II firearms, making an SBR something you can buy as easy as a 16" AR, and a suppressor just another item in the counter at your LGS, I'd take that deal any day of the week. Democrats would be forced to take what they have been campaigning to get for decades, or explain why they said no. But the current political climate has put any chance for a deal like that into the not happening category. To me, the most important intent of the 2nd Amendment is that private citizens are able to own firearms of equal capability of the military and law enforcement that could be turned against them, thus creating a check of power. If they have "assault rifles" those citizens who want to own one should be able to as well. SBR's, suppressors, ect...the intent of the 2nd Amendment was for a citizen militia to be well armed enough. I'd rather focus on that as priority #1. And it's too easy to do that. I bought my VP9 from a guy on M4C, had it shipped to my FFL and it took all of ten minutes to get a 1st time GO while I browsed their gun rack.1 point

I do it quite differently, usually only bringing a few magazines for each weapon to the range. I use the reloading time to relax, think about my shooting fundamentals, then go back to it. Your method sounds more fun, though. ;)1 point

An EO is not law. As the chief of the executive branch, he can direct people who work for him (ICE, Justice, ect.) to enforce/ignore laws and/or regs. He can even stretch an interpretation of a law. He cannot however make law. For example: An FFL already does the check on any sale or transfer. If not, they are in violation of current law. If however you sell a gun to your neighbor (within the same state), you are not required to do a check or go through an FFL. You all know this already. If he signs an EO demanding a check on all transfers, how could it be enforced? If you sell to your neighbor (in accordance w/ the law), how could they know? What would you be arrested for, not abiding w/ an EO (which has no force of the law)? Some folks need to lay off of their own Kool-Aid.1 point

I purchased my LAV RTF2 Glock 17 from the Franklin Gun Shop for $650 two months ago and it has grown to become one of my favorite pistols to shoot nowadays. There has not been a range session to date that does not include the LAV RTF2 Glock 17 in the rotation. The LAV RTF2 pistols include a great deal of value right out of the box for the money (E.G. Wilson Combat Vickers Tactical sights + TangoDown Vickers Tactical slide release, magazine release, + magazine base plates). The aforementioned firearm is my girlfriends nightstand gun. We are fans of the RTF2 frames through + through. With that being said, I plan on adding more to the lineup as they become available for purchase on the secondary market!
